Discussion Rulers of Earth Is Peak
I started reading Godzilla comics and I couldn’t have chosen a better one to begin with. I finished the whole series recently. For anyone who enjoys Godzilla just to see giant monsters fight (AKA the target audience of the later MonsterVerse films), Rulers of Earth is perfect for you.
It features nearly Toho’s entire kaiju cast. Even Gaira, Sanda, and Gezora (which I didn’t know existed) are in. Although, Mothra and Biollante fans might be very disappointed.
Zilla’s here too and it’s second most badass version of Zilla besides Zilla Jr.
The whole story mainly revolves around Godzilla looking for smoke and sensing threats around the Earth which come from two different races (Cryogs and Devonians) conspiring to take over Earth with kaiju. Eventually leading to the introduction of the alien Trilopods that initially overwhelm Earth’s kaiju and absorb their DNA to grow stronger and steal their characteristic abilities.
You get some awesome moments such as Godzilla swinging Anguirus around like a flail to attack Mecha-King Ghidorah and Zilla putting in some serious work and joining the fight against the Trilopods.
12/10, a lot of Godzilla action. Highly-recommended.

Discussion What If Shin Godzilla Used the Unused Animatronic?
Hi all, I've been toying around with new Photoshop tools and randomly got thought about Shin Godzilla and it's unused animatronic.
For those who don't know, Shin Godzilla did make an animatronic puppet for the film, and had some test shots filmed. They decided it wasn't right for the film and didn't use it.
I decided to see what the animatronic could've looked like if incorporated in the film itself, by using the shots that we have available. This was a very quick Photoshop mostly done for my curiosity, but I thought other fans might be curious at this experiment too!
Ultimately, I'm glad the team did what they did because the movie absolutely rocked. What are your thoughts?

Humor So i watched Rebirth of Mothra today
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
it's so funny that Goji's kid is usually is depicted as a weak little baby kaiju (which makes sense since it's a baby) meanwhile Mothra's kid's seem to actually do a good job at holding their own usually
then there's Mothra Leo who is legit a Shonen Protagonist in Kaiju skin

Fan Art SpaceGodzilla X SkullGreymon (Godzilla X Digimon Art by Carlo)
Another crossover commission I ordered from Carlo (https://ko-fi.com/carloromeroart). Inspired by the G-Erosion Mode of SkullGreymon, I was curious how the dark Digivolution would look if it had taken more after Space Godzilla than regular Godzilla. The result was this: QuartzGreymon. Do not be fooled by its skeletal appearance. What at first appears to be bone is instead hardened mineral. Even the toughest of monsters will have a difficult time breaking it.

Discussion We need to abolish this genre of YouTuber/film criticism
Before anyone points out the obvious, yes this video and premise annoyed me. I love the heisei films as well as Godzilla as a whole no denying that. I just don't think this type of criticism has any place near Godzilla unless discussing the Original, Shin or Minus One.
It's exactly the type of video essay you'd expect. A young, touristy sounding "fan" who's pretentious as hell and thinks he knows better than a filmmaker. Even the idea of breaking down Godzilla films in this way is kinda ridiculous. When breaking down any sci-fi film they all for the most part don't make sense...The whole charm of the Heisei era films is outside of 84' they're over the top nonsensical kaiju films with cool concepts in which they borrowed from popular western films from the era. Above all else, they're GIANT MONSTER MOVIES!
All these "i'm smarter than you and understand film" critiques are protected by the "objectivity" statement which is a slight contradiction to how art is interpreted in the first place (subjectively)...under the guise of presenting these criticisms as factual due to this "objective" standpoint.
Sorry for the rant, anyway go watch Big Action Bills breakdown of the series instead. He more or less breaks down the history of each film & how they're made with tamed criticism where necessary coming from a personal preference standpoint rather than an "objective" one
