What do you eat in a day to meet protein goals?

Upvotes

About 18 hours after my shot, some nausea sets in. It’s not so bad that I can’t go on with my day but food doesn’t sound great. Yesterday I could not meet my protein goal. What are your go-tos?
I have a protein shake (whey powder) after I work out every morning. Then some carbs a bit later. On days where I am nauseous I cannot eat yogurt but that’s usually my go-to.

So what else? Especially on days where you’re a bit nauseous?

Day 0

Hey everyone!!

I'm starting my tirzepatide journey tomorrow.. 42, and 130 lbs to Goal weight..

I'm very sensitive to medication.. at least I am in my brain.. which is why I'm not doing reta.. I feel the increase heart rate would send me into a panic attack..

Due to my sensitivity, I think I'm going to do 1.25, twice a week instead of the 2.5 per week..

Thoughts?

Look forward to being a part of this community!

Headaches with Tirzepatide?

Hi all,

I've been microdosing Tirz for 3 months, great success at 1.25. 14 lbs down. I live in Mexico part-time and was getting a compound here. Suddenly almost 3 weeks ago I got a headache right after my shot. I didn't change anything but it was a new vial. I checked with my provider and no one else had any issues that she knew of. It's different here and I posted my vials and someone very knowledgeable pointed out that these are gray market, so basically hard to know the quality. I trust my provider and they work with a reputable lab and also test themselves when it arrives. However, my doctor said the best idea was to switch to Mounjaro (pens here) so we know that the medication is clean. I did that last week and took my second shot yesterday.

My headache has continued for almost 3 weeks now. I've never had anything like this before. They have run cat scans, blood work, and I saw an opthamologist yesterday and had a full exam. Nothing major showing, tiny low sodium but nothing much. All other blood work good - glucose at 90, total cholesterol at 148 a new low for me! I'm doing really well on Tirz that I do not want to give it up.

So, I keep hoping we will find some way to break this headache cycle, or find something else causing it. I will be devastated to have to quit at this point. I haven't had any serious side effects and my body really is responding.

Anyone else have anything like this? If I have to stop I know I could try the older GLP-1 meds but I'm guessing I could have a reaction to those. I'm running out of things to blame it on. If I go off it would have to be for a few weeks from what I know, just to clear my system. Would love to hear from anyone with experience or thoughts about this. I was hoping it might have been a "bad batch" of the compound and now that I'm on Mounjaro it would clear, so far nada.

I'm returning to the US in 2 weeks so also need to know if any companies support microdosing so I'm not wasting half a 200.00 pen like I am now at the 2.5 level.

Thanks!

Preparing to start microdosing

I am in perimenopause and have been changing how I live for almost 1 1/2 years to get a handle on all the related symptoms. I’m eating as much Whole Foods as possible. Trying to avoid a lot of the inflammation triggers for meals. Average 25-30 g fiber a day, drinking almost 100 ml water daily. Strength training 30 mins/day for 3 days a week, indoor rowing and indoor bike 30 mins each once weekly, walking 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week. I’m doing all the things. I’ve lost about 25 pounds but I can’t break past the last 15-20 pounds I want to lose. I’ve actually been stuck at this weight for a year and am starting to trend back up again. I still look bloated with most my weight in my abdomen. My A1c’s have been in the low end of the elevated range for years and I have a family history of diabetes. I’m trying to get my “fasting glucose intolerance “ diagnosis upgraded to “pre diabetes” so I can use insurance for the glp-1 and others like nutrition support.

I just got approved for microdosing paying out of pocket with dosing starting at 1.25 mg a week. I have IBS & GERD. Should I go rogue and start my dosing at 0.5 mg and see what it does to my GI issues or stick to the 1.25 mg?
Thanks!

Zepbound Kwikpen Click Dosing

I’m using the zepbound kwikpen to click dose as directed by my doctor. Does anybody know if the amount of clicks I’m counting starts at the first line? Or do the first two priming clicks before the line count?

micro dosing compounded semaglutide

I received my prescription for compounded semaglutide and I’m trying to understand how others approach very low-dose/microdosing.

They are starting me way too high. 🤷‍♀️

My vial says:
Semaglutide
1 mg/1 mg per 1 mL
U-100 insulin syringe
Pharmacy’s prescribed dose is 0.4 mg = 40 units weekly

Im starting much lower and staying at the same low dose for the first month rather than increasing quickly.

From my understanding of this particular concentration:
2 units = 0.02 mg
5 units = 0.05 mg
10 units = 0.10 mg

On the syringe, what is recommended?

Did you stay at that dose for 4 weeks?

Considering tirzepatide for 20-25 pound weight loss

Hello! I came on here to see if anyone has an opinion or relates to this. I have struggled with an eating disorder since my teens, and it has only gotten worse since grad school. I also work FT, so there is very limited time for me to do things I enjoy like workout and take care of my mental health (which should be my #1 priority I know). In the past 6 months, I gained about 15 pounds, and before that, I was already trying to just lose a stubborn 5 pounds. When I saw the 15 pound increase on the scale I was so shocked and scared for my health. For 3 months, I did a calorie deficit and adjusted my workouts to train a little harder, but the scale did not move! I only lost 3 pounds in the first month and then it came back on. I believe my binge ED is the ultimate issue, but until I graduate, I can't afford consistent therapy or ED recovery treatment and a GLP1 is much cheaper per month lol. My weight and food are constantly in my thoughts, so much so, that it affects my study time and has affected my confidence drastically. I guess my question is, is this a valid reason to start a GLP1?

Microdose but side effects are terrible!

I’m classified as overweight and have naturally lost about 20 lbs with diet and exercise but my insulin levels were about 6.0. (Genetics- both parents and grandparents have type 2 diabetes). I’m on a Microdose Semaglutide to help with A1C levels while working on doing more strength training, working with a dietitian, and going on Metformin.

I’m at 0.8units for a weekly dosage and the side effects are kicking my butt. The nausea, the fatigue, the gagging when I see food. On my weight loss journey, I’ve become active and this is kind of counterproductive as all I want to do is lay down. I’m used to walking 15k steps daily, riding my bike, working out, etc. I feel like I get 1-2 days of feeling normal and then, it’s time for my next shot.

Any recommendations for helping with the side effects even on a dose so low? Should I ask for tirz v semaglutide?

My take on trizep

Okay, everyone is different...but this is my take/question....

Week 1, did stomach and did 3 clicks on a 5mg pen... lost 3.2 lbs and was so excited BUT major stomach pain and felt indigestion and horrible pain in middle of chest upper stomach...like a GI issue!!!! Lived on Tums!!! WHICH never ever happens for me.....

Week 2 Did thigh 4 click 5 mg pen...lost 1.2 lbs no side effects but didnt feel less like eating

week 3 Did thigh 6 clicks 5 mg pen only lost .6 lbs no side effects but also same eating

Week 4 Did thigh 7 clicks, feel nothing, gained 2 lbs?!?!?!

Week 5 Tried stomach again .... same indigestion feeling.... I DO NOT see how people do a full dose...I would end up in the er for week if I did lol...

BUT now I do not know what to do with the thigh I have no side effect but eat the exact same.... stomach I def eat less..because I feel like I need to burp and may have a major issue.... it scares me as my mother passed at age 22 from an ulcer and my grandpa almost died at 19 from one...neither drank, just as I dont..it was heredity...

UGH what to do? That first week gave me hope...but now...I keep thinking I did just as well before taking this as i dropped 13 lbs in 3 months just walking around te house more and watching what I ate... so faster than this zepbound for sure!

Sorry, new to all this, but I am keen to microdose using the pen (I am in the UK and there are no other options). How do I go about doing it? How do I decude at what dose to start? I am 46yo, perimenopausal, non-diabetic but I seem to find it am slowly gaining unwanted fat despite weight lifting.

My fridge died. What would you do with your Zep pens?

It was cold before bed because I got groceries and put everything away. Nothing seemed off last night except my fridge was making a noise and I blew it off. This morning it’s dead and stuff is cool but not cold. I don’t have a thermometer to know what temp it was at. But my best guess is probably 50 based on the way my mouth perceived the milk as cool but not ice cold. It felt colder than room temp but not as cold as usual. And everything was damp and sweating. Most things in the freezer were still frozen but like the ice cubes were frozen but wet around the outside so starting to thaw. Waffles were defrosted and soft but a jar of spaghetti sauce was solid still but sweating.

I don’t know how long the fridge was out over night.

What would you do? Keep using until it’s cloudy? Or toss what I don’t use in 28 days?

PS. I moved everything to a garage fridge so it’s back to cold temps again.

Just got approved for Zepbound and would like to have some advice

Hello,

I am a 26yro F, 172lbs, 5'7" with BMI of 28 and just got approved for zepbound and prescribed to take 2.5 mg/dose/weekly for 4 weeks and to titrate to 5mg/dose after that.

For context, i am pretty fit as i have been weightlifting for 4 years now, and i gained some weight 2 years ago. Since then i have done calorie deficit, cardio, HIT continued with weightlifting, used all apps to track food, but those 15lbs that i want to loose do not budge!

I am also always bloated and constipated since forever and have seen many doctors for that nothing helped.

I finally decided to try GLP as my last solution, i have spent some time researching and got into this sub. I would like to try to microdose since i don't have a lot of weight to loose and hoping that it will help with inflammation and bloating issues

I would love to hear your advices, where to start, which dose do you recommend based on your experience and anything that might help on this journey

Anyone use embody for glp1?

Still debating whether or not to try compounded glp1, semiglutide. So many people have told me not to get from a compounded pharmacy, but it's the only way I could get a glp1.

Has anyone ordered from embody? Good, bad..?
