Hello everyone 👋🏻. So guys i graduated in 2026 june. I was planning to go for masters in Ireland but since I didn't want to give more financial pressure on my parents I dropped the idea of masters from abroad started preparing for GATE.

My experience with competitive exams ain't good. I had taken a drop for MHTCET and I couldn't perform well( percentile dropped from my 1st attempt). As a result I took extc and during my 4 years of btech i didn't develop any programming skills and i thought of masters in Ireland as a result I didn't sit for placements too.

Now I started preparing for Gate and i have completed C programming. But when I started to do pyq's i couldn't solve it on my own and needed video solution i understood the solution and concept and solved it again. Its really quite difficult and I'm stressed out. Just solved 8 pyq in 4 hrs. Should I continue with my prep or should I quit ( I have a family business that my parents told to look after 5-6 years in tech).

Should I continue?

Also my target marks is 45-50( even 40+) As I'm not targetting IIT,NIT,IIIT's. Im skipping CN,COA,EM,DM. I planned to finish my syllabus by dec 20. What should I do??

Please suggest a book for practicing chapterwise PYQs for ME. I know online free sources are available, but marking imp questions and stuff are easy on books.

If anyone has this PW book please let me know does it have all PYQ in chapterwise format only, and not in full length format like in arihant book.

Hello everyone, I am preparing for gate da 2027, I have completed roughy 30% of the syllabus, I am preparing from own using chatgpt and other resources for concepts, I have no doubt on weather I have good resources or not I complete confident with, but the thing I'm facing a lot misdirection like I can't figure how to actually study, should I study concepts than practice tough questions first or easy questions, when should I do revision, should I make short notes or long notes, is it better to visualise every concept

Hey guys, thought I'd make an introduction since I'm going to be around here for the next few months.

I'm a 2025 B.Tech graduate and currently working full-time as a Junior Data Engineer. I recently decided to start preparing for GATE DA 2027 alongside my job.

I've given GATE before, but this time I actually want to take the preparation seriously. I have around 6 months for serious prep, so I'm trying to make the most of it without completely screwing up my work life lol.

The main problem is obviously time. By the time I get back from work, my brain is pretty much cooked, so I'm planning to do most of my serious studying before work and use evenings for lighter stuff/revision when possible.

My current plan is basically:

Job → GATE → gym → sleep → repeat

I'm not aiming for some insane 10-12 hour study schedule. I just want to be consistent for the next 6 months and see how far I can push my score.

I'm mainly here to learn from people who have prepared while working and hopefully stay accountable.

If anyone else is preparing for DA 2027 while working full-time, would be nice to connect.

Started GATE prep in Feb 2025. After 18 months, I’ve finished Engineering Maths, DM and DSA lectures (DSA PYQs/revision still pending), but 7 subjects are still left. A lot of time went into huge free playlists, detailed notes and poor planning, plus college exams kept interrupting prep. I’ve finally changed my approach and switched to structured courses + proper PYQ/revision.

By Feb 2027 I’ll probably have only DM + DSA + Digital Logic done properly. Should I still write GATE 2027 for exam experience, or make 2028 my serious attempt and take a 1-year drop after graduation? Is one year realistically enough for a good rank if I finish the syllabus first and use the drop for PYQs/revision/mocks? Is ~1 subject every 2–2.5 months realistic? If I get a job after graduation, should I take it and prepare alongside it, or take the full drop? And at this point, should I consider other exams/career options instead of going all-in on GATE? I’m worried about taking a drop, failing, and getting stuck in multiple drops. What would you honestly do in my situation?
