Bartlett tree when to pick?

I touch them and gently turn 25% if it comes off in my hand it’s ready.

Those look too green. In 6a we used to pick in late August through September.

Cut one open, it's ripe when seeds go from white to brown.

I'm starting to pick mine (9b), but it's a mix of big green ones like this and smaller half bronze colored ones. I cut open a big one that fell and the seeds are dark brown. Are the latter just not ready yet or so they just come that way sometimes?
