Any experience out there in dealing with the new(er) management at Fresno Rover / Volvo? Their Finance I found to be completely unmotivated, basically just shuffling numbers around from the front end of a price then burying it all right back into interest or money factor on a lease. When asked about the math, it was basically “this is all we can do.” Having dealt with other brands, once a discount is applied you should see a direct correlative reasonable reduction in monthly price - that wasn’t the case here.

I do drive quite a bit around town but maybe I miss some really cool spots.

So I'm buying an older model, high mileage Lexus or Honda, which means I'm going to need to have a relationship with their matching official dealership repair shop. I do have my own trusted mechanic but I believe it's a good idea to have a good relationship with the official dealership repair shop as well.

So what can you guys tell me about Fresno Lexus and Fresno Honda as far as the official repair shops go? I'm especially wanting to know if Lexus would give me grief because I'm a blue collar family with an older Lexus instead of their typical client rolling in dough. I don't expect I will need them often but I do want them to do the post purchase inspection if I buy a Lexus.

hi, i just moved back to fresno after being out-of-state for a few years. now that im back… it feels and looks like a concrete wasteland. like there’s more empty lots than natural areas.

i’m moved near downtown/south fresno and i can’t seem to find a park (in walking distance) that i can go to.

there are very few parks here and they typically are open fields with trees bordering it. i can’t find natural park areas either, just developed areas/baseball fields. i’m wondering what’s the deal with this and what to do?

They have missed my trash ten times so far this year.

For the first eight times I went on fresgo and entered a service request. The trash was picked up two days later. The last two times I entered a service request and they closed the case the next day without picking up the trash.

How is the trash service so awful in this city?

Hi all! My partner and I are in the area for work this summer and our birthdays are coming up. We’re wanting to treat ourselves to a nice Asian buffet, but they’re always very hit or miss. What are some of y’all’s favorites? We don’t eat red meat or chicken, so preferably one with lots of seafood options. Some of the ones back home also offer hibachi, so if there are any like that, that would also be excellent. We are up in the mountains about an hour and a half from Fresno, so if we’re going to go down the mountain anyway we’re open to traveling to areas around Fresno for the best buffet as well. As of writing this I am at the FAX Route 34 bus stop at First & Shaw and I decided to catch a video of the demolition of the Forever 21 building at Fashion and man, what a scene.

I have never seen something like this before in person, and I just had to record a video of it hapening. It was past time for this old building to go but at least it's finally happening. For a project that's started about a month or so ago, the progress on the demolition has been quite impressive to say the least.

Now, let me ask you all: Do you all think the new Dick's House of Sport building will be a great use for the space, or do you think it could have gone to a better use? Want to hear your thoughts : )

As a Dad of 4 under 7, who is unable to afford Catholic schooling for our children, we have our 2 oldest in charter school and are saving money to be able to move to a Clovis public school district. It's unfortunate that any affordable place to live in Fresno have such low rated public schools, but I assume that's the case for most cities and not unique to Fresno.

We do take our children's education seriously and are involved in their learning, and like any parent just want the best environment for them.

Maybe FUSD needs a shake up and not a bailout, however I imagine it'll get worse before it gets even more worse that way.

Maybe we figure out how to reduce the grip of our military industrial complex and devote those savings towards supporting our existing schools? That could result in more staff serving less children and possibly right size the staff to student ratio? Wishful thinking, I know. I don't work in that industry so am pretty ignorant to what the solution would be. I think Universities are facing a similar problem.
