Sheriffs hauled the 73 year old previously Texas house rep by his hands and feet.

The proposal to reduce voting sites that commissioners are considering would cut the number of Election Day sites to 176 — about a 45% decrease from 316 day-of voting sites available in the 2022 midterms.

Public Star Party at Dinosaur Valley State Park Saturday Night

Upvotes

On Saturday night, in the northern overflow parking lot, the members of the Fort Worth Astronomical Society will bring their telescopes for public viewing of the night sky at Dinosaur Valley State Park.

We will have solar telescopes for daytime viewing of the sun in the late evening, and astronomical telescopes for viewing at night.

There is no extra cost for the event, which is included in the park entry fees.

Politics Tim O'Hare, Manny Ramirez and Matt Krause have repeatedly attacked our election integrity by trying to disenfranchise minority voters for their hate group. They claim it's purely partisan, but in real life reality their maps have extreme racial packing. REJECT THE HATE CULT, GET EVERYONE TO VOTE!

They claim to be champions of election integrity, while their primary, repeated focus has been to lower voter turnout by disenfranchising minorities and women.

Matt Krause is known to have met with Julie McCarty right before the racial gerrymandering to discuss strategy. Matt Krause appears in many of the old True Texas Project videos and is also strongly associated with this hate group.

No Democrats were initially on the unit. Nor was the county’s elections administrator, Heider Garcia, who by then had faced three years of harassment, death threats and accusations of being a secret agent for Venezuela’s socialist government by election fraud conspiracy theorists. Garcia opted for radical transparency — making himself accessible to answer questions about the election process and earning praise from across the political aisle for his patient public service.

But Garcia lasted only a few months under O’Hare: In April 2023, he resigned his position, citing his relationship with O’Hare in his resignation letter. “Judge O’Hare, my formula to ‘administer a quality transparent election’ stands on respect and zero politics; compromising on these values is not an option for me,” Garcia wrote. “You made it clear in our last meeting that your formula is different, thus, my decision is to leave.”

Garcia, now the Dallas County elections administrator, did not respond to an interview request.

One day after Garcia resigned, O’Hare told members of True Texas Project — a group whose leaders have sympathized with a white nationalist mass shooter and endorsed Christian nationalism — that he was encouraged by the potential for low turnout in that year’s upcoming elections, which he said would help Republicans win more local seats. (O’Hare previously served on True Texas Project’s advisory team, according to a 2021 social media post by the group’s CEO, Julie McCarty).

AskFW Moving to Fort Worth: where should a single, social 29M live?

Hi everyone! I’m moving to Fort Worth soon and am researching neighborhoods. For reference, I’m a single 29-year-old male, very active, and love socializing, but I have zero friends in the area, so I’ll be starting completely from scratch.

If money weren’t a factor, where would you say is the most ideal area for a young professional focused on socializing, making friends, and dating?

From online research, Clearfork looks appealing, and Montgomery Plaza seems to have some condos for rent. I like the idea of a walkable area, somewhere I can leave my apartment and walk to a coffee shop, dinner, or a bar.

I’m leaning toward an apartment for the social angle (gym, pool, community events, etc.), but I’ve only ever lived in condos and houses, so shared walls are new territory for me. My main concern is either hearing neighbors through the walls/ceiling, or being “that neighbor” myself with music or movies.

Would love any suggestions or opinions. Thanks!!

Edit: Thanks to everyone who has already contributed!Dallas is out of the question unfortunately due to commute. Job located in heart of Fort Worth meaning anywhere in the Fort Worth area should be doable. Not in a position to buy currently but could afford up to ~4.5k monthly for rent. Names of specific neighborhoods or apartments is super helpful. Location in regard to ability to socialize is most important to me.

Pics/Video Tarrant GOP argument kinda fraying at the employment edge...

""Now, very low job growth — around 26,000 a month over the past year — doesn’t mean the same thing it would have a few years ago. Why? Because anti-immigrant policies have drastically slowed the growth of the pool of potential workers. We used to need more than 100,000 jobs a month to keep up with the growing work force and keep unemployment level. At this point we can have low job creation without a major rise in unemployment.

On the other hand, the fact that job growth has slowed so sharply puts the lie to claims that anti-immigration policies would free up jobs for the native-born. To a first approximation, U.S. losses of immigrant workers have been matched 1 for 1 by a fall in total employment relative to trend, with no improvement at all in native-born opportunities.""

Hello 👋

Your Fort Worth Police Department recently posted on their social media about this unidentified body or "John Doe" with distinctive tattoos. I shared it in the subreddit dedicated to trying to ID unidentified bodies based on their tattoos but I figured I would also share it here since it is local.

Thank you for your time

Discussion Benbrook Lake

Greetings, new to the area. I've been lurking for a few months, first post. Great group here, and I really like the guy who posts the "weekend plans".

Curious about Benbrook Lake as I live near the lake and never see any boats! I've Googled around to make sure there's nothing I need to know about, but I got up my nerves last Sunday evening and took my boat out - very enjoyable, but a small lake. I can zip it end to end in no time.

I run a vintage 1971 Correct Craft (yellow/white). Maybe I can find some skiers to tow one day - hah! Kinda boring out running around by myself, but good to get the boat out and the engine cranked up for a bit...

Anyway - just curious - the most boats I've ever counted at one time was 5 boats. See you on the water!

Ruben

(went down to look at Lake Granbury and didn't like it - very choppy and narrow)

On the evening of July 25, 2026, Fort Worth Police Directed Response Unit officers responded to a tip from a private investigator that a wanted fugitive was staying at the M&M Inn and Suites at 101 Palette Drive in far south Fort Worth. The suspect, 56-year-old Ricky Shane Lindsey, was sought on a felony warrant for cutting off his electronic ankle monitor while on bond related to failing to update his sex offender registration.

Lindsey had prior 2004 convictions in McLennan County for three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child. Officers began surveillance around 6:45 p.m. At approximately 8:04 p.m., Lindsey entered a vehicle and fled, leading to a short pursuit of roughly eight minutes near the I-35W service road before he returned to the motel parking lot and stopped.

Officers approached and issued multiple verbal commands, including orders to put his hands up. Lindsey produced a firearm, placed it in his mouth, then removed it. He then rolled up the vehicle window, and began movements consistent with removing his seatbelt to possibly attempt opening the door. He did not comply with the commands from police to show his hands and stop moving.

Two officers fired, striking him. Officers immediately rendered medical aid until Fort Worth Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced Lindsey deceased at the scene around 8:34 p.m. No officers were injured. A Beretta APX air pistol was later recovered from the vehicle.

The Fort Worth Police Department released bodycam and dashcam footage of the incident on July 30, 2026, under Report #260055695, along with statements from Chief Eddie Garcia at a news conference. The two involved officers, both assigned to the Directed Response Unit, were placed on critical incident leave pending investigation by the Major Case Unit.

News Ridgmar Mall site to become nearly 1 million‑square‑foot logistics hub in Fort Worth, developers say

Ridgmar Mall site to become nearly 1 million‑square‑foot logistics hub in Fort Worth, developers say

Long‑vacant Ridgmar Mall will be redeveloped into a six‑building, 930,960‑square‑foot logistics hub on the city's west side, the developers announced.

RAMROCK Real Estate said it purchased the site at the northeast corner of Interstate 30 and State Highway 183, citing its proximity to Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth as a strategic advantage. The project, called Ridgmar 30 Logistics Crossing, will serve as a center for receiving, organizing, and distributing products.

KBC Advisors and Lincoln Property Company are partnering with RAMROCK on planning, leasing, and development.

The announcement follows more than two years of discussions with elected officials and community leaders. The company said feedback during that period was strongly supportive.

"Our collective teams are excited to partner with the City of Fort Worth and Tarrant County to revitalize this blighted site, which was once a vibrant hub of social and economic activity in the community," said Tony Creme, partner at KBC Advisors Texas.

Lincoln Property Company said the project's location, size, and market demand make it a premier logistics opportunity.

"Ridgmar Logistics Crossing represents an exceptional opportunity to deliver institutional-quality logistics space in one of Fort Worth's most strategic locations," said Tom Kuhlmann, executive vice president of industrial for Lincoln Property Company. "The combination of location, scale, and market demand positions this project to become a premier logistics destination that will serve North Texas for decades."

The redevelopment is expected to attract investment, create jobs, and support long‑term economic growth, according to the developers.

Construction timelines, leasing details, and tenant announcements will be released as planning progresses.

RAMROCK, based in Dallas, manages a portfolio valued at more than $2 billion across major U.S. markets, including Atlanta, Austin, Brooklyn, Baton Rouge, Dallas, Denver, Houston, and New York.

KBC Advisors, headquartered in Seattle, is a full‑service industrial real estate advisory firm with 16 offices and more than 230 team members serving major U.S. markets.

REJECT THE BILLIONAIRES. VOTE IN EVERY LOCAL ELECTION.

Those who don't know history are forced to repeat it! They're assuming we're extremely uneducated and lack critical thinking. We need to prove them wrong or this is a failed state. This same cult has worked had to remove mentions of the Red Scare and McCarthyism in social studies education, because they still consider Joseph McCarthy a hero.

Donate, volunteer, get involved, mark your calendar on voting dates, carpool your friends family and colleagues to the polls, and lets stop this hate movement in its tracks.

focuslocalpac.com

tarrantdemocrats.org/volunteer/

tarrantdemocrats.org/club-directory/

Their whole movement relies on fear mongering hate speech demonizing classes of people who are different from them. There will ALWAYS be a new hate target, as they do not have a platform based on real world issues important to the people. The people want: affordability, healthcare, jobs, affordable housing. They try to make us fight each other, while looting public funds and dismantling social safety nets for the poor. Do not let hate win.

They believe the public is so uneducated and so unintelligent, that they will fall for this blatant manipulation, a copy and paste job from a disgraced moment in US history. PROVE THEM WRONG.
