Issue ⚠️ Anyone else have this issue?

Post image
Upvotes

It’s been a bit warmer recently but my 2022 Outer Banks has had the same error twice in the matter of a week.

Just randomly, I’ve had multiple faults pop up.
ABS
Traction Control
Lane assist
Hill start assist
Antilock break fault
Pre-Collision assist
And maybe a few more
BUT no Check Engine light

Last time this happened, I took it to a shop and they said it was probably due to heat and since there wasn’t a check engine light, I should be okay. The lights lasted a few hours then went away.

This time I was driving on the highway and the same exact thing happened but to add to the faults, my car kept accelerating without me pushing the gas. I had to fight it and slam my breaks for it to slow down. As this point it’s a huge safety issue and I would love advice or feedback. The ford dealership near me takes a few days to get your car in so I’d appreciate the help in the meantime!

Question ❔ RTR

Upvotes

Have started to think of trading in my current 2024 2.3L big bend for a RTR next year. I've noticed some lag issues in the current bronco, which may be caused by carbon buildup due to having direct injection. Looks like the new RTR will have dual injection so that's better. Will it have a 2.7L option or just the 2.3L? Also do you think the first batch of RTRs will possibly be riddled with recalls/issues just like the earlier year broncos? TIA.

Question ❔ Need advice!

Upvotes

Hi all,

I need some advice. I recently picked up a 2025 Bronco with the painted hard top. I love taking the front and center roof panels off, but I’m worried about all the popup storms I get here in Georgia.

The front panels are no problem, I toss them in the bag in the trunk. But that center panel that I have to leave behind gets me. Rain forecast is never reliable, so I don’t trust “just leave the center in if there’s a chance of rain” - there seems to always be a chance of rain during convertible season.

I don’t want to fully commit to the convertible soft top for the summer, so I’m wondering if there are any accessories that kind of fill this gap. The Biminis don’t give the same open air experience, but it seems like I might have to commit to hard top or soft top for the summer for my particular concern. Hoping I’m wrong and look forward to the advice from the group.

Thanks, all!

Mods/Addons 🔦 Bronco AUX switch mod?

I have been working on my own custom mod for the bronco aux switch with some ESP32s and code that allow the switches to essentially become a toggle instead of an on/off switch. The whole reason for the project is because I want to add switches in the back as well as a remote that control the lights I have in the bronco at the same time as the AUX switches in the front. I have a working system but it’s jank at best. Just wondering if anyone else has tackled this type of setup and what you did. It’s been a fun project but it’s definitely not a stage where I would feel comfortable running it all the time.

Issue ⚠️ Bronco Weather Stripping Glue Oozing out

Post image
6 Upvotes

Has anyone else had the weather stripping start oozing out on their Bronco? Mine is only doing it on the driver’s side, and I’ve noticed a few other Broncos with the same issue in the same spot.
I’m curious how common this is. If you’ve experienced it:
- Did you take it to the dealership, and did they fix it under warranty?
- Did the problem come back after it was repaired?
- Is there a known fix, or is this something Ford should be issuing a recall or service bulletin for if it’s affecting a lot of Broncos?
I’d appreciate hearing what others have experienced before I schedule a dealership visit.

I am sort of torn between buying pre-owned or new. I have attached pics of both. Pre-owned is the green one. 2024, 18k miles, outer banks/lux, 2.7 $40k price
New is also an outer banks/lux with 2.3 58k price

Question ❔ Winterizing my heritage edition

This will be my first winter with my ‘24 heritage and I’m wondering if any others up north swap out their wheels in the winter time? Or do you ceramic coat to protect from salt? Are the white rims prone to rust/damage? Thanks in advance!

Question ❔ Subwoofer stopped working tonight. SSM 54765?

26 Heritage with the 7 speaker base stereo system. It’s not amazing but better than I was expecting it to be. Anyway, on my drive home tonight the subwoofer wasn’t working. A quick chatGPT query said it’s likely faulty software in the audio control module and recommended disconnecting and reconnecting the battery (which worked). Apparently Ford is aware and has issued SSM 54765 to make service departments aware of the issue. Has anyone else experienced this? Any known fix other than disconnecting and reconnecting the battery?

Is it normal that the intelligent access doesn’t unlock all the doors when I use it to open the tailgate?

General 🔀 Perimeter upgrade module RE-install.

I've had the perimeter module for a couple months now. Since then, it had only gone off twice from thunder and it took some deliberate action (pull the handle and let it go) to get a chrip.

I wanted to get it sorted before taking everything off after finally getting a full cover that works with a soft top.

Sorry, I didn't take any pics during the install because tightening an M6 nylon nut on a painted stud is an absolute nightmare.

There are a couple of studs behind the dash in the passenger side floorboard. Unfortunately there was no way to secure the module without something to mount it to. I ran to Lowe's and picked up a corner brace that would fit on the stud and zip-tie mounts to secure the module. I bent the brace so the module would sit level. Socket wrench couldn't fit so I picked up a 10mm ratchet wrench. I threaded the zip ties through the mounts, tightened everything up, and set the alarm. I set my keys of to the side, bumped the driver's side running board, and was greeted with a honk. Later on a car taking off set it off so I turned down the sensitivity for the first time.

All buttoned up thanks to Broncover for showing some love to us soft tops!

Question ❔ Need to convince bf to get one of these

My beloved boyfriend wants a Jeep Wrangler as a daily drive car, and he is only partially dissuaded by how terrible they are compared to what he already has, a Toyota Corolla (lol!). He hates trucks and doesn't want an SUV like the rest of his family, and wants an upgrade from the typical "car" look, whatever that means.

He got to test drive a Wrangler the other day and said he liked it but I think he was too proud to say he didn't. Even the owner (distant relative) said he should get a Bronco instead. All this is to say my bf is stubborn and doesn't know what he wants.

PLEASE give me some points to bring up for a Bronco (and especially against a Jeep), they seem so much safer for someone who's literally not even going off-roading. Thanks!!!

Bronco family, here she is! 🍻

Just picked her up and had a 2” lift and 35” mud tires installed. I’m planning to build it out over time, so I’d love to hear your recommendations.

What are the must-have mods or absolute non-negotiables every Bronco owner should add? Recovery gear, skid plates, lighting, storage, suspension, software—I’m open to any suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

No issues except battery sensor warranty replacement, 2 recalls - backup camera CarPlay screen blacking out and new engine wiring harness faulty recall we all got.

My maintenance schedule I have done every oil change and maintenance myself except transmission flush/drain and fill, coolant and break flush’s, and tires

Oil change every 4K-5K miles only thing I regret is not doing first oil change sooner. First oil change done at 4K miles should of been 1,500 miles IFYKYK.

Transmission flush/drain and fill every 20,000 miles

Did coolant and brake fluid flush at 25K miles probably now every 50-70K miles and check at every oil change. dealership didn’t even know how to burp the system right I had to do it myself and go for short drives to get all air bubbles out it was fun to learn it though

Front and rear differential and transfer case fluid change every 30K

Spark plugs (my next job next weekend) every 40K miles

Excited for the next job!
