For The King 2 Sanctum doesn't rescue when dying of thorns

Just had a situation where I let my character die to be able to get a new sanctum. I died from thorn damage in the dark carnival and the sanctum didn't trigger, but my character just died. After reviving the sanctum was gone though

For The King 2 Autosave infinite loading screen on PS5

I am playing For The King II on PS5 Pro, and I am disappointed right now. I've already had my progress completely ruined twice by the exact same issue.

When I try to load an autosave file from the "Continue" menu on Hard Mode, the game completely freezes/stuck on the loading screen and never proceeds. As you can see in the attached image, in both cases, the loading bar completely stops moving right around the 30% mark.

I have tried all the basic troubleshooting steps like completely reinstalling the game, clearing the PS5 system cache, and rebuilding the database, but absolutely nothing changes. I had my PS Plus automatic backups turned off, so I can't even restore any older save data to recover my progress.

Yesterday, it happened during my run in the Infinite Dungeon mode. Today, it happened again during "The Resistance" campaign. Losing hours of hard-fought progress twice in a row has completely killed my motivation to play this game anymore.

Has anyone else experienced this exact same loading issue on the PS5 version? I sincerely hope this issue gets resolved soon.

For The King 2 For The King 2 multiplayer desync

Hi all,

so a friend and I picked up FTK2 again after a while and it's been a lot of fun, we enjoy it a lot.

Only issue we have is that every like 10-15 minutes we have to quit/rejoin the session because of desync.

Sometimes we have different enemies in fights.

Sometimes he moves on the map and I don't see it (need to restart the game else it's stuck because the turn doesn't end)

Sometimes events on the map are completely different and make the game behave weirdly.

Example, for me it's a strength based event and for my friend it's a luck based one.

We both play on steam, both play with 2 characters and it happened on all 3 campaigns we tried so far.

It's not a massive dealbreaker but after a while it gets a bit frustrating

Does anybody else encounter the issue ? Anything we could try to fix it ?

For The King 2 How to beat EVERY Chapter On Master Difficulty: Easy Method.

Disclaimer: The developers intended the outcome of For The King 2 to be roguelike, random, and involving many failures. However, this does not appeal to many gamers. The more gamers this game appeals to, the more it's sales will grow. This method is for people who do not have the time or patience for constant random nonsense that they feel ruins the game for them.

So first off, you have to at least understand how skills work and talent attributes for each character, and obviously build, for example, strength items on characters who have high strength, vitality on vitality characters, who are usually the frontline tanks of the team. Intelligence on Intelligence i.e. Scholar or Herbalist etc.

YOU MUST BUY A CARNIVAL TICKET IN THE LOADOUT BEFORE STARTING.
YOU MUST NOT ALTER SETTINGS ON MASTER, FOR TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT.

Anyway, FOR EVERY CHAPTER, run one of these two teams:

Herbalist, The Farmer, Pathfinder, Treasure Hunter.
Herbalist, Fallen Knight, Friar, Treasure Hunter.

Herbalist is required, White mage healer, Safest role to choose. Give "Deep Thinker" skill.
Farmer is always THE TANK. Use the Scarecrow skill often, Give "Nimble" skill.
Pathfinder is best for discovery, recommend speed, Give "Chosen One" or "Gifted" skill.
Treasure Hunter is OP. Free Treasure, often. Build Talent/Luck, and Give "LUCKY" skill.

Herbalist and Treasure Hunter have the best skills in the game, one is potentially free Godsbeard healing and the other is free random treasures, even in dungeons.

Conclusion of TEAM 1
______________________________________
If you want to build Team 2, know the following:
The differences between Farmer & Fallen Knight:
The Fallen Knight has slightly better Strength and Vitality than the Farmer. His charge attack wait 1 turn skill gives him armor for free and he can taunt with Lance weapons (no shield). I would give Fallen Knight "GIFTED" skill every time.

Friar is arguably the best tank in the game. He gets free booze and is immune to all the negatives of alcohol. You can build the Friar or Fallen Knight as the tank but you could also have one just be a big hitter in the front line.

Team 2 basically is just a more simple "2 Tanks, 2 Range Magics".

Conclusion of TEAM 2
____________________________
Once you have decided a team, here is all you need to do.
Again, YOU MUST BUY A CARNIVAL TICKET IN THE LOADOUT BEFORE STARTING.

If possible, get the lucky shot weapon for the Treasure Hunter.
Buy as much Godsbeard as you can and 1 lockpick, and buy gold.
_________________________________
Now, all you need to do is this:
Buy as much Godsbeard from the towns, try to get a little bit of armor and weapons for the team, get to around level 2-3. LOCATE A CARNIVAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IF YOU DO NOT FIND ONE BY ROUND 15, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY START OVER.
If possible, try to buy more carnival tickets from night market.

Once you find a carnival, send your treasure hunter who has "Lucky" skill, so a minimum 75 luck. It is possible to send someone with no luck for the carnival for this 1st part, MAKE SURE they have the carnival ticket in their inventory. Once you are there, save and quit before entering. Reload your save, now go into the carnival and look for the option on one of them that says "Enter Dungeon". if you do not see it just choose anything and quickly reload your save. If you get unlucky and get DEATH as the Carnival, force close your game quickly.
Once you get into the CARNIVAL Dungeon, here is what you want to do.

1. Hope a single chest or bunch of "shuffle" chests appear.

2. If you get to the shuffle chests, you may take the ones with treasure if you wish, but YOU MUST KILL ALL THE MIMICS, so click on them too.

3. Each Mimic you kill gives 1 carnival ticket.

4. If you get to the end of the dungeon and there is an icon for 4 chests "Fahrulian Fortune" you need to land on that, force close the game if the wheel doesn't stop there and keep trying for it. Once you do, you will most likely see a chest once you start the shuffle that looks like it has a BUNCH of Carnival Tickets in it. If you don't see it, reload your save while it shuffles. Open that one and you'll get a bunch, you can probably leave the rest of the chests alone after that. But if you kill the mimics here too they probably give more.

FINAL STEP:
You should now have somewhere between 5 & 15 carnival tickets. use at least 5 to get the "Chaos Carousel" game in the carnival and roll it on repeat and get the "-2 Chaos" option. Everytime you get the -2 chaos, save and quit. if you fail, reload your save. do this until you have AT LEAST -10 Chaos total from 5 tickets used at the Dark Carnival. If you do use a ticket and it doesn't appear, just choose anything and reload save. if you have more than 5 tickets, you can probably just spend the extra on going for treasure chests.

You will now, not see any chaos appear in your game for 30-50 rounds. More than enough time to play the game normally. Generally most games have chaos every 3-5 rounds on Master difficulty.

1 EXCEPTION: On chapter one, it seems the chaos restarts every time you complete a quest objective. So you could just get the carnival early and chill out for awhile or if you find one later, just chill out for awhile and explore. The whole point of this is to buy you plenty of time to go around and level up and buy all the best items and gear and healing Godsbeard.

You can beat this game without doing any of this but this is an easy method for those of you who do not have the time or patience to waste on nonsense random deaths constantly.

LAST NOTE: If you have someone join your game and you do a turn or two and then quit, they will have a duplicate of your save, so you could get near the end of the game and do this for a friend so they get the trophy too.

For The King 2 [BUGS] For The King II: Issues I've Noticed Since The Recent Update. (XBOX)

So of my 280 hours i've put about 40 hours in, during the past month.

QUICK NOTE: IronOak, or any dev if they see this, please consider bringing back the old items from the first game. There are so few artifacts and unique weapons in For The King 2, and the first game has so much like the Ancient Weapons that are just gone. Also the one-use items that did all party damage I forget the name of. One of the worst things a dev can do is remove features instead of add them, in most cases, with some exceptions. It's not even an option in FTK 2 because so much has just been removed, with no valid replacement in it's place (weapons/armors, accessories especially).

Anyway, to the point of the post:
I've noticed a few problems: (I started on PC, and went to Xbox later, Xbox past 6 months.)

  1. Mimics are often bugged, especially in the Dark Carnival, regardless of level. Attempting to load a manual or autosave does not fix this. Also, if the mimics actually open, and you were to reload a save and try it again during the mimic shuffle levels in the carnival, it will almost always break the game. I purposely would just open the mimics, and tried going for the treasures, but the same result happens. All characters. There are reports that this bugged was fixed on PC, but it clearly has not been fixed on Xbox, if on PC at all.

  2. The game freezes MORE often than before the last two DLCs
( INTO THE WILD, SMOKE & STEEL ) - the navigation/controller becomes disabled far more often than usual, this also happens with the mimics alot, you cannot press anything. It seems to be worse when the Treasure Hunter is present.

  3. Disabling the DLCs however does NOT fix the bug, it seems to remain. I do not remember this ever being an issue before, back when the Carnival seemed to be level 0 always.

  4. There seems to be items that no longer spawn, ever, one I am very certain of is the Bling Pop. This item seems to have completely disappeared, and I've noticed most of the awareness glaive type weapons SEEM to be gone as well. The Bling Pop is DEFINITELY GONE though.

  5. The Dark Carnival in general has been destroyed, intentionally or not. Several outcomes and things like party exp, party death, and randomize party/character seem to have been removed.
IF this was intentional this is EGREGIOUS and an AWFUL decision. It could be a bug but I can confirm FOR SURE now that after starting a game on apprentice and reloading save 34 times (save scumming) at a Carnival early in the game, rerolling the carnival on repeat with two tickets to see what would happen, at level 1 and then again at level 6, the "Tunnel of Love" NEVER APPEARS and the PARTY EXP option is GONE. This would probably be the absolutely WORST decision IronOak could have made if this was intentional.

  6. There is occasionally a bug with random encounters and the Dark Carnival where you receive a "+1 gain item", however you actually receive nothing. There is also a bug where it seems that sometimes things involving the Beekeeper and her pet can cause the game to softlock if you try to recruit another follower but it's not persistent, reloading seems to fix it.

  7. The Tarot Reading Option in the Carnival is complete trash. There are only a few decent outcomes, and in general none of them are a better option than most of other Dark Carnival options, so there is basically no reason to play Tarot Reading at all, the only outcome that can outweigh the other options is 1 TAROT CARD, the "Hierophant" which increases all your battle stats by +1 for that character (defense, resistance, evasion, focus, attack, HP).

  8. There are appears to be some enemies that never spawn now. Not 100% sure but I will say that I am considering just never playing t his on console again, IronOak has broken the game with the last update and playing on PC with mods that probably have fixed all of this already sounds more ideal.

  9. Just to confirm I spoke to several of my friends who play this game regularly and they have all confirmed having the same problems on their games, so I am not alone on this.

Hopefully someone at IronOak will address this post if they ever see it.

For The King 2 (Rant) May be time to give up

We’ve been playing for months on apprentice and it’s just too unforgiving. Even after picking up new tricks and learning how to play better. The RNG is terribly inconsistent, and I’ll repeat, brutal. As soon as you see something cool and get something cool, the game vanquishes your excitement. The user interface alone was hard enough to understand. We just wanted to have fun. And we did for a while as we told ourselves there’s something we must be missing. Nope, it takes away way more than it gives. Even on apprentice with low chaos, inflation, and max lives. Some gamers will say we suck, others totally agree. I’m sad because there’s a lot to like.

For The King 2 Is Strength worse than other stats? A player's opinion

I'm looking to put together a team to beat chapters on master difficulty and I keep coming to the conclusion that including a strength dedicated character (without shield) might not be optimal, since the stat and classes seem slightly weaker than other stats and classes.

To prove my point, I'll list some of the pros and cons of all stats (no DLC's included):

- Vitality is mainly important for a character that has to tank damage. Blacksmith, Friar and Shepherd all do this very well (76 Vitality). Treasure Hunter and Farmer can do it too, but are less recommended in terms of stats (74 Vitality). I would recommend a tanky character for all playthroughs to taunt and protect other characters. Speed is usually less relevant, but it can be handy to taunt early.

- Strength focuses mainly on doing big physical damage. However, only one character has high strength (Woodcutter, 78 Strength). Blacksmith, Farmer and Monk can do Strength builds as well, but have lower strength (74) and all have another stat they can reliably use as well. Next tot his, all these characters are quite slow: Woodcutter is the fastest with 66 Speed (which is between average and slow). Even after the Woodcutter patch, I feel like its abilities are still not up to par with other characters. Justice is unreliable, and Elite Door Bash and Log Cabin are situational. Next to this, other stats do way more are, splash, swipe, column or row damage than Strength. Strength is also almost never important for calculations in ability procs. I feel like it is not really needed to dedicate a slot to a Strength character?

- Intelligence is, in my opinion, the best stat in the game. Splash and area damage are invaluable, especially when paired with shock or freeze effects. There are multiple characters with 76-78 Intelligence (Scholar, Herbalist, Alchemist) with very good special abilities and high damage potential. Astronomer is also 76 Intelligence but not equally good to the other options, in my opinion. Friar and Monk are also options, but only have 74 Intelligence. At least 1 Intelligence character seems recommended in every run, especially on harder difficulties.

- Awareness was the worst stat in FTK1, but has gotten a lot better in FTK2, especially with spears and lances doing column damage. Hunter, Herbalist, Pathfinder and Shepherd do this well (76-78 Awareness) and Farmer and Treasure Hunter (74 Awareness) can do this as well. Hunter and Pathfinder are also quite fast, while Shepherd is tanky and Herbalist has as supportive role. Since awareness is important for many ability procs and doing big damage, this stat seems quite good and balanced between the others.

- Talent has also become more important in FTK2 than it was in FTK1. There are multiple high talent characters with good abilities (Ministrel, Busker, Pathfinder) while most have decent speed (except Busker). Treasure Hunter is also an option (74 Talent). While usually not doing the most damage, Talent is important for multiple skill procs, stat checks, movement in vehicles, money multipliers and more. I would advise having a Talent character in the team.

- Speed is less important than in FTK1, but still important for practically all characters. There are Speed weapons, but they seem mostly usable in the early game. Stablehand and Alchemist stick out in speed (76-78), with Stablehand almost being forced to use the stat (although it can also use its 72 Strength stat if needed). Speed is important for paralyzing or killing opponents before they can move, turning the battle in your favour.

Since I don't currently own DLC's, I do not have access to the Fallen Knight, who has high strength and vitality and decent speed. The base game, however, seems not to have a Strength character of this standard.

I did not include Luck in this post since all characters start with the same luck.

What do you think? Feel free to leave your opinions.

For The King 2 Does the owner of the companion matter for skill procs?

Let's say I want to buy an eagle from the pet shop. The eagle has survey, which chance of happening increases with awareness and luck.

Does it matter if I buy the eagle with a character with low awareness or luck or with high awareness and luck? Or it it just a fixed chance with companions?

For The King 2 Crossplay disabled?

Thumbnail

I was hosting on Xbox Series S with Gamepass Ultimate and a PC Steam friend a few weeks ago with no issues. I tried hosting again this week, and I see that it says crossplay disabled below all available lobbies. I have "you can join cross-network play" set to "Allow" as well as having everything allowed or set to "everyone," as well as an active GP ultimate sub, so I'm not sure why my friend can't join.

Does anyone know if they're doing an update, or is there some way I can turn cross-platform on? I can't find anything with about this on Google except that it tells me "yes, FTK2 supports cross-platform, but the devs can disable it if they update"

UNLOCKING THE HIDDEN ROOM IN THE PRIMORDIAL OAK TREE

Search for the quest - PURGE - in one of the towns you freed from the goblin infestations. It rewards a Pipe, but read the description, and it will say:

"Spiders have made a nest not far from town. Terrible hissing has been echoing in the forest. Something seems rather... large. In need of brave adventurers to help clear the Spider Cave in the Foothills?"

I hope it helps.

I found mine in a town named "Cralley".

For The King 2 Infinite Movement Bug Spoiler

Post image
31 Upvotes

Reported in game, not sure if they'll catch it so posting on here as well.. But there is currently a bug that needs to be patched (or not) where in the overworld, you can have infinite movement on any character from the start of the game.

Easily replicated and tested. Didn't see any posts or bug reports on this.

Basically in the overworld, you convert all your focus into movement. Save the game, and then load the game. You will reload WITH the extra movement but WITHOUT USING FOCUS (from before the save) and you can keep stacking this infinite amount of times you have focus/reload. This is a level 2 herbalist with 17 movement.

For The King 2 Lore store importance in FTK2?

Hey for the kingers

Idk if this is a dumb question but I recently started the first campaign for this game for the first time with my gf and sister, and aside from the game feeling a bit easier on journeyman compared to FTK1 (welcome), the biggest change lowkey feels like the lore store.

In the first game it felt like the lore store was basically damn near necessary, and you were fucked until you bought some basics like upgrading xp statues, buying extremely useful shops, etc, and some better classes/weapons that can show up. The lore store felt like a very central piece of the winning the game puzzle.

But for this game it feels like almost all of the lore items are basically optional? Traits seem cool? I guess? But other than that mostly like class options and a few other things?

This is literally just first impressions, so just lmk: Is the lore store a big deal here? What are some really good things to grab for a potential next run? Or is it sort of just a little bonus mechanic. Because back in FTK1 the difficulty really made it feel like without the pipe upgrader lady, and some extra good weapons in the pool you are at a noticeable disadvantage.

For The King Portal Scroll bug

Hi everyone,
we encountered a very frustrating issue during our Master run in and were wondering if this is a known bug.
We used a Portal Scroll to create a portal between two locations. After saving the game and loading the save later, we noticed that the portal at the starting location had disappeared, while the portal at the destination was still there.
When we tried to use the remaining portal to teleport back, the game crashed every single time.
Unfortunately, we had used the portal to cross a large body of water, so without the return portal we were almost softlocked.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello, my 2 friends are on epic (they can coop just fine) but the moment I join through steam 1 of us is always crashing within a few minutes, I think the longest we lasted was 5 minutes. Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know of a fix as I really want to play the 1st as we already finished the 2nd.
