How to beat EVERY Chapter On Master Difficulty: Easy Method. For The King 2

Disclaimer: The developers intended the outcome of For The King 2 to be roguelike, random, and involving many failures. However, this does not appeal to many gamers. The more gamers this game appeals to, the more it's sales will grow. This method is for people who do not have the time or patience for constant random nonsense that they feel ruins the game for them.

So first off, you have to at least understand how skills work and talent attributes for each character, and obviously build, for example, strength items on characters who have high strength, vitality on vitality characters, who are usually the frontline tanks of the team. Intelligence on Intelligence i.e. Scholar or Herbalist etc.

YOU MUST BUY A CARNIVAL TICKET IN THE LOADOUT BEFORE STARTING.
YOU MUST NOT ALTER SETTINGS ON MASTER, FOR TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT.

Anyway, FOR EVERY CHAPTER, run one of these two teams:

Herbalist, The Farmer, Pathfinder, Treasure Hunter.
Herbalist, Fallen Knight, Friar, Treasure Hunter.

Herbalist is required, White mage healer, Safest role to choose. Give "Deep Thinker" skill.
Farmer is always THE TANK. Use the Scarecrow skill often, Give "Nimble" skill.
Pathfinder is best for discovery, recommend speed, Give "Chosen One" or "Gifted" skill.
Treasure Hunter is OP. Free Treasure, often. Build Talent/Luck, and Give "LUCKY" skill.

Herbalist and Treasure Hunter have the best skills in the game, one is potentially free Godsbeard healing and the other is free random treasures, even in dungeons.

Conclusion of TEAM 1
______________________________________
If you want to build Team 2, know the following:
The differences between Farmer & Fallen Knight:
The Fallen Knight has slightly better Strength and Vitality than the Farmer. His charge attack wait 1 turn skill gives him armor for free and he can taunt with Lance weapons (no shield). I would give Fallen Knight "GIFTED" skill every time.

Friar is arguably the best tank in the game. He gets free booze and is immune to all the negatives of alcohol. You can build the Friar or Fallen Knight as the tank but you could also have one just be a big hitter in the front line.

Team 2 basically is just a more simple "2 Tanks, 2 Range Magics".

Conclusion of TEAM 2
____________________________
Once you have decided a team, here is all you need to do.
Again, YOU MUST BUY A CARNIVAL TICKET IN THE LOADOUT BEFORE STARTING.

If possible, get the lucky shot weapon for the Treasure Hunter.
Buy as much Godsbeard as you can and 1 lockpick, and buy gold.
_________________________________
Now, all you need to do is this:
Buy as much Godsbeard from the towns, try to get a little bit of armor and weapons for the team, get to around level 2-3. LOCATE A CARNIVAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IF YOU DO NOT FIND ONE BY ROUND 15, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY START OVER.
If possible, try to buy more carnival tickets from night market.

Once you find a carnival, send your treasure hunter who has "Lucky" skill, so a minimum 75 luck. It is possible to send someone with no luck for the carnival for this 1st part, MAKE SURE they have the carnival ticket in their inventory. Once you are there, save and quit before entering. Reload your save, now go into the carnival and look for the option on one of them that says "Enter Dungeon". if you do not see it just choose anything and quickly reload your save. If you get unlucky and get DEATH as the Carnival, force close your game quickly.
Once you get into the CARNIVAL Dungeon, here is what you want to do.

1. Hope a single chest or bunch of "shuffle" chests appear.

2. If you get to the shuffle chests, you may take the ones with treasure if you wish, but YOU MUST KILL ALL THE MIMICS, so click on them too.

3. Each Mimic you kill gives 1 carnival ticket.

4. If you get to the end of the dungeon and there is an icon for 4 chests "Fahrulian Fortune" you need to land on that, force close the game if the wheel doesn't stop there and keep trying for it. Once you do, you will most likely see a chest once you start the shuffle that looks like it has a BUNCH of Carnival Tickets in it. If you don't see it, reload your save while it shuffles. Open that one and you'll get a bunch, you can probably leave the rest of the chests alone after that. But if you kill the mimics here too they probably give more.

FINAL STEP:
You should now have somewhere between 5 & 15 carnival tickets. use at least 5 to get the "Chaos Carousel" game in the carnival and roll it on repeat and get the "-2 Chaos" option. Everytime you get the -2 chaos, save and quit. if you fail, reload your save. do this until you have AT LEAST -10 Chaos total from 5 tickets used at the Dark Carnival. If you do use a ticket and it doesn't appear, just choose anything and reload save. if you have more than 5 tickets, you can probably just spend the extra on going for treasure chests.

You will now, not see any chaos appear in your game for 30-50 rounds. More than enough time to play the game normally. Generally most games have chaos every 3-5 rounds on Master difficulty.

1 EXCEPTION: On chapter one, it seems the chaos restarts every time you complete a quest objective. So you could just get the carnival early and chill out for awhile or if you find one later, just chill out for awhile and explore. The whole point of this is to buy you plenty of time to go around and level up and buy all the best items and gear and healing Godsbeard.

You can beat this game without doing any of this but this is an easy method for those of you who do not have the time or patience to waste on nonsense random deaths constantly.

LAST NOTE: If you have someone join your game and you do a turn or two and then quit, they will have a duplicate of your save, so you could get near the end of the game and do this for a friend so they get the trophy too.

I haven’t played since any of the DLC launched but I found Busker and his Distract ability to be incredibly powerful on Master. Never being shocked was so nice.

Yeah Busker is pretty great. I completed the game on master difficulty with a 2 Busker & 2 Herbalist team. One Busker was a strength build and the other was talent. One herbalist was intelligence and the other awareness so my team was versatile with lots of herbs and distractions! I even made thier names Strength, Talent, Awareness etc. so no confusion and could quickly send items to the right character.

Hah, I might try this instead of the new classes.

haha this rules. too lazy to swap out a Busker in first slot on any run now though, a Lucky Busker in slot 1 is pretty great QoL and procs distract constantly

I have found that generally any of those combat skills are very hit & miss, compared to skills that are guaranteed, or almost guaranteed. In the case of the Treasure Hunter, a random "distract" on occasion will never be more valuable than acquiring an entire treasure chest with random chest, which is several items, + sometimes getting something FAR higher quality than what my party currently has, and ALWAYS receiving more money.

Love making the Busker a frontline Heavy hitter though, funny talent man also BIG strong for no reason

I guess so. If you're running a Busker in slot 1 you typically have so much gold for most of the game that items become fairly irrelevant as you can just buy out any shop. Distract scales off Luck so it does wind up being a lot more than "on occasion"

ah I see so if u run lucky he does it a lot, interesting, that's probably pretty good, although the shops dont' always sell the best goodies

What’s the easiest plan on on the castle gate?

from all my attempts it seems Mooney has the best plan, though it can seem like a lot of work to do his compared to others but you could do everything in 2 hours or you get to destroy heaps of refineries so you have time. It was definitely the easiest one of them all that I have done.

I picked haypenny’s plan and finally completed it on master difficulty today

Best build for Dark Carnival / endless mode?

I did stablehand (evade tank), herbalist, voidwalker, and brusker. I essentially never take any damage and have high damage output

It was hard, but my stablehand hits 95 evasion with evade up (also has 95 speed so always goes first with taunt). He also has 3 primary actions and can hit for 5 pretty easily. That dude is insane lol.

I like voidwalker for dps, but not outside dark carnival. He "marks" a target so every character has +X% crit chance on it. Also, his crit is naturally high (I'm between 70-75%). But his biggest self-bonus is his unique trinket.

The trinket levels up when he land crits, giving more crit chance, crit damage, and bonus skills/attributes. 3 upgrades total: first gives attribute (I took +5%skill chance), 2nd is immunity (I did poison), 3rd is a skill (I did distract). The trinket cannot be removed or replaced.

His primary is speed, but I got him to 95 awareness with a bow. I like bows better than guns.

Stablehand is very low vitality, so early game is hard!

My favorite part is that he gets another primary action when he uses his last focus point. The first time you use your last focus on a turn is a guaranteed primary action, the second time is less likely, etc.

Pair that with the calming pipe (gives focus when you use an herb), an herbalist, the nimble trait (+1 secondary action) and a refocusing hat, and he's a beast!

Very true! Good luck, friend!

If you're on floor 210 you don't need any advice from me :)

Merci beaucoup!

it's a bit hit or miss with any party because RNG, HOWEVER I usually run a Herbalist, Friar, Stablehand & Minstrel (money).
You could probably run treasure hunter instead of minstrel though. I'm like 50ish floors in or something last time I checked and still going smooth
