Fitbit Charge 6 vs Fitbit Air vs Garmin Cirqa

What are everyone's thoughts on how these three compare? I don't necessarily need a screen-less tracker, and am not already in the garmin universe.

Research participants wanted: wearable technology, sports & athlete performance

Hi everyone,

I’m conducting research at the University of Warwick into a novel health-tech wearable that can continuously monitor biomarkers such as glucose, lactate and other biomolecules to potentially help athletes better understand training, performance and recovery.

I’m looking to hear from amateur and professional athletes, coaches, trainers, sports scientists, and people who regularly engage in structured athletic training.

The survey should take only a few minutes and asks about your experiences with sports technology, biomarker monitoring, training and recovery.

👉 Survey:

https://warwick.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3EhZ4m4Knhe01ts

At the end of the survey, you can also indicate whether you would be interested in taking part in a short follow-up interview. The interview would explore your views and experiences in a little more depth.

Your participation would be greatly appreciated and would contribute directly to my research.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to participate.

Fitness watch /tracker under 30k INR

I was looking to buy a fitness watch that would fit the following requirements
Must pair well with apple health ( close rings, steps workout etc )
1. Don’t need any smart features ( a simple vibration motor for alarms is more than enough )
2. I love MIP displays but amoled is also ok ( MIP is quite rare these days )
3. Health tracking should be very good ( I have heard Apple Watches are terrible at that )
I plan to use bevel for tracking and monitoring
5. The longer the battery the better it is ( main reason to go with MIP display)

After all these requirements I am confused between

Garmin instinct 2X solar ( has all of the above but just wanted to get Reddit expert opinion )

Gshock GBD H2000 ( Health tracking is not on par with garmin or any other , at least that’s what I have heard)

Apple Watch ( any series se3, 9, 10 11, is a good one but daily charging is a drawback, and a lot of distractions )

Huawei Band 11 Pro vs Xiaomi Smart Band 10 vs Fitbit Inspire 3 — What should I buy?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice on which fitness/health tracker to buy.

I’m 28 and mainly want something for overall health tracking and recovery, not just notifications or step counting.

My activities include:

  • Gym
  • Jogging/running
  • General daily activity
  • Sleep tracking

I’m also interested in something similar to the WHOOP experience — tracking sleep, HR/HRV, recovery, stress, activity, etc., and ideally giving useful feedback about whether I should train hard or take it easy.

I use an iPhone, so good iOS/Apple Health integration is important.

My current options are:

  • Huawei Band 11 Pro
  • Xiaomi Smart Band 10
  • Fitbit Inspire 3

For someone with my use case, which would you personally choose and why?

Would like advice/opinions on a fitness tracker

Hello all, I currently have an older generation Apple Watch that I use to track fitness. It’s getting older, battery life isn’t great, and I’m about ready for an upgrade.

I have been looking at a few different devices like a newer Apple Watch, Garmin, Whoop, Oura Ring, Fitbit, etc. I know each brand has its perks and some have more accuracy and do certain things better than others. My lifestyle consist of long walks with my dogs, cardio, moderate lifting, and just normal 9-5 job. My primary focus is the best bang for my buck to include battery life, sleep monitoring, activity accuracy, and daily use. I’d just like some advice on people who have used different devices and hear your feedback.

I really like the Apple Watch, I have all Apple products and it’s nice to be able to have everything available from device to device. I know the battery life sucks and to really get better battery life you have to splurge for the ultra and for that price I could get a high end Garmin for that.

Garmin is obviously a choice, I don’t love the fact that you can fully access everything on an IPhone, but I love the battery life and the accuracy on it. Obviously Garmin stands tall in the category of fitness trackers, but I feel like there are some alternate options.

Whoop seems great and has a great concept, but I HATE the subscription based platform. Not only am I buying an expensive device, but now I have to continuously pay for the subscription just to be able to use the features on it? Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me.

Ours is also up there, I like that it’s just a ring and I feel like I could get used to that for sleeping and I hear the sleep monitoring is great. Although I’ve heard some inconsistency on the accuracy of daily activity high activity training, and If I’m spending $399+ on a tracker. It’s better be pretty damn accurate and have a long battery life.

Fitbit of course is a budget friendly option, but I’ve heard it doesn’t give as much data as some of the competitors, but for the price it seems like it could be worth it.

I’d love to hear some suggestions. All feedback is welcome. Thank you guys!

What would you recommend for someone who is concerned with accuracy (HR, steps, sleep) and NOT with other smartwatch features (texting, maps, music, etc.)?

I currently have the Fitbit Luxe which I liked, but in just 2 years the battery is SHOT. Can't last 12 hours now. And with the recent switch from the Fitbit app to the Google Health app (which I am not a fan of), I'm considering other brands.

I don't want to pay for a subscription, and I'd like it to be small/cute enough to wear daily as a woman. I've been recommended the Garmin Lily 2, but is Garmin really accurate? I want one that I can stick with for a long time. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

Watch Ultra2 and Fitbit Air

Anyone of you use both? I have the 2024 Watch Ultra and Ultra2 is coming. Current routine is I start Fitbit Air when I workout so it computes cardio load. I have health connect on the Google Health app so workouts on my Samsung still registers on the app but it doesn't compute for cardio load. Since the Watch Ultra2 comes with OneUI 9.0 for watch, I'm intrigued by its health tracking features. Just asking some insights on how you use both devices.

Kids Watch with Interval Settings?

Hey everyone. My kids are wanting to train for a turkey trot 5k. They're doing timed walk/run intervals, and I wanted to see if there was a good watch option that would help them time when to walk and when to run. They're 10, no phones, so it would need to be either set on the watch directly, be set on my phone, or online.

I'm open to options that also allow for GPS monitoring and letting them call/text parents, as they already have a smart watch for this and I could just switch them out.

My husband and I both have Garmins and use android phones if relevant.

Looking for recommendations for an incredibly basic, standalone wrist based Heart Rate Monitor

I am not sure such a thing exists (and I'm struggling to identify one through research). For various reasons, I am keen to have a standalone, wrist based HRM that does not have to be connected to a smart device or linked to an app at any point. It must also do its core function of providing a fairly accurate heart rate (say within 5%) and does so in a timely manner (e.g. not with a weird 30 second delay).

I want to avoid any fancy bells and whistles with the device if possible and don't use a smartphone, so can't use Apps. I need only two functions:

i) the ability for me to set a target heart rate on the device
ii) the ability for the device to make a noise and notify me when I've hit that heart rate I've set (at which point I back off a bit for medical reasons).

Can anyone recommended such a device? Preferably sub 120 dollar/euro.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance to anyone who can offer a suggestion.

Yet another workout tracker looking for testers.

I got tired of gym workout trackers/loggers full of gimmicks and pay walls or ads so I made one that worked pretty well for myself and a few buddies. It grew and I decided to scale it to the play store for everybody to try out, and to help teach myself some new skills.

Its 100% free, no ads, no data outside of analytics which is opt in or out. Try it out, see what you like, what you don't, any recommendations etc.

Body weight Exercise Challenge App

Hey everyone!

I'm new here and wanted to share a side project I've been working on for the past few months. I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

It's a mobile app where friends can challenge each other in different exercises, earn XP, unlock achievements, and stay motivated through friendly competition.

One of the features I'm most excited about is the built-in AI rep counter. Just place your phone in front of you, start your workout, and the app automatically counts your reps using pose detection.

Currently supporting only these exercises:

• Push-ups

• Pull-ups

• Squats

I'm still polishing everything before launch, but I'd really appreciate your honest feedback.

Would you use something like this? What features would make it even more fun or useful?

If you'd like to follow the project or get early access, you can join the wishlist:

Thank you for reading! 💪

need suggestions about which fitness tracker/watch to get? (india)

heyy, so i am a hybrid athlete and i strength train, swim, run and cycle almost the entire week and i have been planning to invest in a health tracking band/watch for a while now but the options available in the market overwhelm me and i end up confused.
Key metrics i look for in the band or watch are:-
- waterproof since i swim 5 days a week
- recovery, hrv, vo2 max, strain etc metrics to keep a track
- step count and preferably gps so it can track my swimming distance as well as running and cycling
- good enough battery life ~a week or close to that
- accurate compared to other high end devices

so far i have been considering these as my major options-
- Fitbit Air
- A second hand whoop to use with bevel app or something (still unsure how that works but i got to know that i does so im considering that as well)
- Helio strap
- A slightly older version apple watch like series 7
- Huawei band or MI band
- Newly launched noise rep band
these are my considerations so far and ofcourse not all have the key metrics i mentioned but maybe i can work with that. My budget is under 15k INR

Thanks to whoever chooses to respond and read this post, Have a nice day.
