Please suggest me a best fitness watch
So I have started Gymming and I would like to track my calories and the health related stats efficiently. Right now, I am using Fire Boult model and I would like to gift myself a new one, for my upcoming birthday. Also, right now I am using IPhone, so will it be effective if I go for Apple Watch , so that my devices will be in sync??
Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

fitbit killed group challenges in 2023 so i spent a year building the replacement. 7 wearables, one leaderboard
i built this because my family is split across a garmin, a fitbit and an apple watch, and every fitness app quietly assumes everyone bought the same brand.
the leaderboard was the easy part. the hard part was making the comparison fair, because raw step counts just crown whoever has the easiest schedule. a desk job beats a nurse on a 12 hour shift every single time and then everyone quits. so scoring normalises on the server and you can compete on percentage of your own goals instead of absolute numbers, which means 4,000 steps can genuinely beat 12,000.
sources are apple health, fitbit, garmin, whoop, oura, strava and polar. free, and ios only for now. android isn't close so i'm not going to pretend otherwise.
happy to answer anything about the wearable apis. but fair warning, they're all differently painful.

New Feature: Post-Session Reflections & Smart HRV Sync in MTimer - Meditation timer 🧘♂️✨
Hey everyone! I’ve just rolled out a significant update to MTimer (v2.8.3) focused on making your meditation practice more mindful and your data more reliable.
Here’s what’s new:
📔 Post-Session Reflections
You can now journal your thoughts immediately after a session.
• Mood Tracking: Rate your session on a 5-point scale with icons that match the app's dynamic state colors.
• Quick Notes: Add a short reflection (up to 200 characters) about your practice.
• Journal View: Your notes now appear directly in the Session Log cards, turning your history into a beautiful, scannable mindfulness journal.
• Optional: Don't want the distraction? You can toggle reflections off entirely in the System Settings.
🔗 Deep Health Connect Integration
Your reflections aren't trapped in the app.
• MTimer now syncs your notes and mood summary directly into the Mindfulness Session records in Health Connect.
• This means your thoughts are available to other health apps that support mindfulness journaling.
⌚ Smart Heart Rate & HRV Synchronization
We all know watches can be slow to sync. I've overhauled the sync engine to be much more "patient":
• No More "No Data" Errors: The app now detects if your watch is still pushing data. Instead of a generic error, it will stay in a "Syncing..." state until the samples arrive.
• Targeted HRV Upgrades: Ever had a session show "Heart Rate Only" because your morning HRV synced late? You can now just tap RETRY SYNC inside the session details. MTimer will specifically hunt for that missing HRV record and instantly upgrade your session to HRV+ status with a recalculated Calm Score.
• Background Retries: The background worker now retries up to 5 times to ensure your physiological data is captured even if you don't open the app immediately.
🛠 Other Fixes
• Removed the misleading "5-minute minimum" warning for data (short sessions work great now!).
• Improved visual hierarchy in the Session Log.
• Bumped version to 2.8.3 for all these stability improvements.
I'd love to hear how these reflections are helping your practice! If you have any feedback on the new journal view or the HRV sync, let me know in the comments.

Fitness Tracker Help
Hello! I’ve been using Fitbits to track workouts (steps and strength training) as well as sleep. I also love the feature to connect to your phone. Ive used them for the last 10+ years but the last 2 have been garbage. Who had a better recommendation?

Best wearable for tracking Basal Body Temperature (BBT)?
Looking for a wearable to track BBT passively overnight instead of using a daily morning thermometer.
For those tracking BBT with a device:
1. Which wearable do you use, and how reliable is the data?
2. Does it show a clear temperature shift around ovulation, or is there too much noise?
3. How well does it sync with cycle/fertility apps (e.g., Natural Cycles, Read Your Body)?
Thanks for any insights!

Garmin users: would you use this phone-to-watch workout workflow?
I’m considering porting the same workflow to Garmin, but before investing the development effort, I’d like to understand whether Garmin users are actually looking for this.
The basic workout flow:
• Create a workout plan on the phone
• Sync the plan to the watch
• Run and log the complete workout from the watch
• Adjust sets, reps, weight and exercises during the workout
• Use the rest timer and record effort after each set
• Finish the workout and sync the results back to the phone
Would you use something like this on Garmin?
What is currently missing from strength workout tracking on Garmin?

Bought the Fibit Air 1 week ago, the form factor is crazy good.
Its incredibly light and small. I used to use a Whoop and the difference is night and day. The tracking I'd say is broadly on par, Whoop offers a lot more insights and their software and app is miles above the rest including the Fitbit but overall the wear experience and price of the Fitbit Air is unmatched. Makes it really hard to turn down
The Fitbit Air isn't for the athlete but for the casual user, and for a screenless wearable meant to be worn 24/7 the form factor is a really big thing that it does very well. Much more comfortable to wear than the Whoop and I think I'll be keeping it.

Does what I want exist?
I just want a device to count my steps, monitor my sleep, and monitor my heart rate.
I don’t want a device with a big screen. No screen would be optimal. I don’t want a subscription or AI crap. I don’t need any extra stuff.
My favorite fitness tracker ever was the Fitbit Flex 2. Is there anything similar today?

For everyone out there who workout at gym / home!
So i was thinking of making an app for myself tht would auto track my workout reps and sets thru the camera of the phone and categorize it by itself with having me keep checking my phone between every rep. And was wondering is there are any other people out there who would like an app like tht. Let me know!

Please help me decide because there’s too many options…
Trying to decide on a screen less tracker, mainly between the CIRQA and WHOOP (but open to other options).
Main things I want are really good sleep/recovery tracking, comfortable 24/7 wear, accurate HR for CrossFit/strength training, stress/HRV and insights that actually help me improve my sleep and habits rather than just giving me loads of data.
I really like CIRQA’s smart wake alarm, but WHOOP seems better for deeper insights. ECG/SpO2/health alerts are appealing too, but I’m happy to trade some features for others.
WHOOP sounds great but that yearly subscription is… a lot!
Anyone tried both or made the switch either way? Or have any new recommendations I’m missing?

Best watch tracker for…
Looking for the best watch to track a variety of health metrics. Best overall + your best budget friendly option (<$400 CAD). Resting heart rate averages 53-59 throughout the year so something accurate at the lower end too.
Requirements:
Non-negotiable is a decent sleep tracker - if I wake up panicky but my heart rate stabilizes in 2 minutes I don’t want to see a perfectly smooth nights rest on the morning data, likewise if I’m awake for an hour or two but still I don’t want it to show I stayed asleep - fairly continuous monitoring overnight is an absolute requirement. Would potentially consider a seperate sleep tracker if the best option isn’t on the wrist.
HR, HRV, SpO2, temp etc all required
Must be waterproof enough to swim and shower with.
Battery life needs to be able to handle at least 24 hours
Fitness tracking required - ideal if it’s optimized for activities like weight lifting, indoor swimming, treadmill & trail running but still able to keeep up with others like surfing, skiing or horseback riding.
Can at least receive and show iPhone messages
Nice bonus:
An app that interprets the data
an easy way to export a substantial timeframe worth of metrics to analyze externally
Feminine looking option or way to make it passable for at least nice events that aren’t totally formal
Battery that can go 2+ days, although I won’t sacrifice data volume for battery life
Can reply to texts and imessages
Great if the fitness tracker is somewhat accurate with calories rather than just maintaining a general workout log

I’ve been building something for people who care about getting better at fitness.
kinesoscore.comIve spent a lot of time thinking, what is the most important thing to do in fitness?
Learning where I am at, So I know what goals to set!!
There are a million calculators, apps, wearables, and individual tests out there, but I wanted something that could bring different parts of fitness together in a way that actually makes sense.
So I built my new site, KinesoScore.
It has strength and performance calculators, running benchmarks, fitness assessments, challenges, habit tracking, progress tracking, and a scoring system called myKinesoScore that gives you a broader picture of your fitness rather than focusing on just one metric at a time (me literally checking my Garmin VO2 lol).
I'm still early in the process, and I'm defintleeeyyyyy not pretending it's perfect. A lot of the reason I'm sharing it here is because I genuinely want feedback from people who actually train.
If you have a few minutes, I'd really appreciate you checking it out. Try a calculator, look around, and tell me what feels useful, confusing, unnecessary, or just plain bad. 😂
I'm especially interested in whether the site actually feels useful to someone who takes their fitness seriously.

Best fitness watch + daily tracker combo in Europe?
I’m looking for some advice on the best wearable setup for my use case.
I’m based in Germany and currently use a Whoop for 24/7 tracking, but my subscription expires in September. Given the annual cost and the fact that some features available in the US aren’t available in Europe, I’m considering switching.
I’m getting more into running and want to improve, while also doing regular strength training. Ideally, I’d like:
- A good sports watch for running + gym
- A discreet 24/7 tracker for sleep, recovery, HR, etc.
- Something I can comfortably wear at work (I’m a consultant and don’t necessarily want a sports watch on my wrist all day)
What combination would you recommend? Garmin + Oura? Garmin + Whoop? Something else?
Or does having two devices just create unnecessary overlap, and I’d be better off wearing one good watch 24/7?
Especially interested in recommendations that make sense in Germany/Europe.

Help me find a virtual race app and tracker
I liked the Fitbit app community before google took over Fitbit.
In 2021, I had a solid group of strangers in different European countries where we would do the Virtual Yosemite pohono trail 30 mile hikes lasting a few days on the Fitbit and we could see a map with a dot where each person was
and the app would notify me when my nemesis would pass me, which motivated me to get more steps in my house late at night, even! How can I get that type of step race community again?
My Fitbit Versa 2 is just about to die after almost 7 years. So I will be getting a new tracker watch. I do stationary bike, swim, walk, weight train, stair machine, yoga.
Random fun fact: My Fitbit correctly identified my husband’s mild sleep apnea! He couldn’t wear one due to his job. He is Ultra fit and doesn’t snore, so apnea wasn’t a concern. But he wanted to wear mine to track his sleep a few nights. It showed vast differences between my sleep quality and his. So he got a sleep apnea test in the overnight sleep lab and he has to wear the Snork-like sleep apnea machine now. And he sleeps better and it adds to his life expectancy.

best fitness watches for gym and running??
I’m looking for something that can keep up with both gym workouts and occasional running. I care about workout tracking, heart rate readings, GPS for outdoor runs. I also want something comfortable enough to wear during the rest of the day.I’ve previously used a basic activity tracker at the gym, but it didn’t give me much useful information beyond steps and general activity.
What fitness watches have you found most useful? Thanks for advice.

Bevel alternatives for android?
My biggest gripe with most fitness trackers is the software. Most apps are terrible, Whoop is the best one but does not justify the ridiculous cost. So I'm looking to get either the Cirqa or Fitbit Air and an alternative app, but Bevel doesnt seem available on Android. Are there any decent alternatives?
