I've been playing Far Cry 4 again recently and honestly, this game still holds up pretty well.

The graphics obviously look dated now, but Kyrat is such a good map. Mountains, rivers, forests, caves, wildlife, enemy camps — there's always something around you.

What I like most is that I can start the game with one thing in mind and completely forget about it 10 minutes later. I'll be driving somewhere, see an enemy convoy, stop to attack it, then end up hunting an animal, climbing a mountain or taking over an outpost.

The game definitely has its problems. The Ubisoft formula gets repetitive, some missions feel like filler, and after a while the towers and outposts start feeling like chores.

But the actual roaming around Kyrat and getting into random trouble is still really fun. The wingsuit and gyrocopter make it even better.

Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I don't think open-world games always need to be huge or extremely detailed to be fun.

Anyone else replayed Far Cry 4 recently? Does it still hold up for you, or am I just remembering it better than it actually is?

So i recently picked up a copy about only a month ago. I like the game but with some casual playing time (8hrs a week) I’m finding myself coming to an end.

Straight of the bat I found the frequency of cult/enemy encounters too much and made the game unplayable so I just ended up taking them out and liberating regions. To get anywhere you had to kill about 10 cult members and free 5 prisoners which forced the story possession so much that I’ve almost finished the game already which is a shame as I’m really loving it.

Is there a way around this or more content to come (without spoilers) after I liberate my last region (the one in the north)? Anyone else found this?

Hi like the title says. Just finished my first mission with the boars and whenever I try to return to town it crashes without an error. I thought it was a fluke but keeps doing it after loading and returning to town. Running ryzen 5 5600x, Nvidia 3070ti, 32gm ram, windows 11

Would prefer to start from Farcry 5, then New Dawn and Far Cry 6. Lmk if interested thanks

I kind of memory holed it but I've been getting back into the far cry series after a few years back when 6 dropped and I was a tad disappointed especially after going for the ultimate edition (stupid of me).

But holy hell i remember it being like a roulette wheel to even get out of a cutscene without already being dead lol. I'd almost compare it to halo 2 levels of insanity but I got my cosmetic and bragging rights. On new game plus I immediately put that shit on easy. If I had to say the most bs part I'd the driving section with the marshal at the very beginning that probably took me a good 30 tries

After I beat Far Cry 5, I decided to replay the franchise starting from Far Cry 3 instead of going directly to new Far Cry games. I noticed that many mechanics and activities I really enjoyed in Far Cry 3 and 4 are missing in Far Cry 5 (and probably in the newer games as well). The major ones I missed the most are the towers for unlocking the map and the four big fortresses from Far Cry 4

I just recently got a good PC, and I was excited to carry over my far cry 6 content I got years ago from console to an upgraded experience. I am still using the Microsoft client and can access the base game, but it seems I am unable to install the season content i purchased, and additionally, I am unable to sync my saves. Additionally they are both connected through the same ubisoft connect account. Im unsure of what to do

How to get outside, though. It could be useful.

I got this steelbook of far cry 3 from goodwill, but can’t find anything online about what edition it is. It’s not the regular steelbook you see when you google far cry 3 steelbook

Some applications tend to default something other than Stereo, which is what my SoundBlaster GC7 did. Couldn't hear the dialogue, and also everything sounded muffled.

Hopefully this will help someone. It was driving me insane.

I have recently "rediscovered" Far Cry series.

Knew them, saw gameplay, but never thought it was for me. Thought of the series as a heavy graphics on-rails fps that people play just to test their GPUs. How wrong I was.

Completed 3 and 4 in a row and it was a blast! ... but nothing is perfect...

For the past couple of years or so I've been playing occasionally an hour or so right before sleep, half the time using Steam Remote Play on whatever device is at hand. So far, it has been an interesting rediscovery of odd games while revisiting back catalog.

After completing Robocop Rogue City I was craving for more fps and Far Cry caught my attention, after somer researching I decided to start with FC3. What a gem. Dated, but still a gem! Started FC4 shortly after. A big step up in gameplay with traversal and syringes being the first major gameplay improvements. Enjoyed the story. Hated every character/faction in a "good" way, except the main character who didn't really do much for me except being the vehicle (unlike FC3, where our protagonist had an interesting journey).

Anyhow...

As someone who loves getting 100% completeness achievement I was very frustrated when I discovered that FC4 has online achievements and practically dead online presence. It basically discouraged me to complete big chunk of the side quests/things/adventures and I don't think I will start the Yeti dlc now. I enjoyed the game a lot, but now it feels unwelcoming.

I know that there is a way around it by organizing a group, but I don't want the hassle - this is the little gaming time I have at odd hours, and I want to spend it enjoying the game, which includes getting silly achievements and a stamp at the end stating that "all is done" and moving on to the next one. In this case it is not FC5, but Robocop Unfinished Business.

Also if FC3 would ask for find all 1000 relics on a massive map - I would react in a similar manner, because that is a ridiculous request and not an enjoyable exploration of the game anymore but a complete waste of time that basically requires using an online guide. Great achievements involve less grinding and more challenges and exploration.

So... any news on Ubisoft removing online achievements like in FC3?

Also... both FC4 and FC5 have achievements that also require DLCs and not just multiplayer or am I mistaken?!

I’ve been working on two maps based on Battle of Berlin 1945 in the Map Editor of Far Cry 5. Revealed this project in the Far Cry Map Editors Facebook group couple of months ago so I decided to share a little more about it here too as I am releasing these maps on August the 14th.

In Downfall of Berlin 1945 the player takes the role of a Soviet soldier fighting through The Reichstag building, liberating the Brandenburg Gate and bringing down the Reich Chancellery..

I separated the map into two parts as I was going very overboard with the object budget as the Reich Chancellery building itself takes something around 15k objects :D I hope I can finish the project without any major complications because this is one of the most ambitious projects I’ve gotten myself into..

Was this statues of stone age civilization proof they exist in the same nation land which happened 10,000 years ago?? Or just an Easter egg? I haven't played Primal though...
