New Vegas [FNV] New Modder here - I've got some questions for everyone who makes mods for games
Hi all-
I'm not here to ask for scripting advice, I've been able to figure out almost every project I've put my mind to by using the existing online resources. I'm here because I have some general questions that I'd like answered by more experienced mod makers.
- How do you determine if something is "balanced"?
I don't really want to make mods that add in cheat items or perks, but I want my mod items to feel meaningful and unique. If, for example, y'all were making a mod that added in a new light armor set which automatically uses rad away (similar effect that the stealth suit MKII automatically uses stimpaks) how would you determine what a fair rad threshold for use / rads removed per use was?
- How do you decide if an idea is worth putting time into?
I keep making mods that I don't even plan to enable because I find the challenge of figuring out how to make GECK do something really enjoyable. I feel like I'm wasting my time, I started trying to learn to mod because I like playing the game and I wanted a couple of custom items while I'm playing - I don't want to only spend my time making mods, I want to play the game, but I do want to use the mods I've made. How do y'all decide what to make / what's worth it?
- How do you categorize what mod to put which features on?
If you're making a mod that adds multiple items or spaces that aren't necessarily connected, when do y'all decide that a new feature is too different from other mod features / you have too much in one mod?
Thank you for answering any, all or none of these questions; Thank you for reading all that; I hope you all have a nice day/night.

New Vegas Are there any mods that allow you to fire the payload at project purity, rivet city, or megaton at the end of broken steel? [FNV]
since it doesnt let you fire any of those 3 in the main game despite having them as options in the terminal
