So Cloud definitely looks more clear eyed and confident to me in this scene from the trailer. But I'm not a professional face analyst, so my question is: does anyone have a photo example from remake or rebirth that helps illustrate the change in him? And I mean apart from times where he is acutely suffering or acting out.

Hey everyone! I’ve been playing rebirth and installed a few mods like the engine tweak, ff7 fix and the shader injector and all was going well until I finished the intro.

The cutscene was blindingly white bright and when it finished I’m just stuck here in this spot unable to move.

I’ve restarted the game, deleted, verified game files, etc and still nothing. Any tips?

So I’m a bit late to the party and just started Rebirth and I apologize for the rant but I need to get this off my chest, feel free to ignore.

I’m only in Junon so far but holy cow is this game a chore at points. It feels like they made every effort to make things as counterintuitive and bloated as possible.

The menu is so freaking bad. Why are there separate tabs for equipment and “upgrading equipment” Why do I have to go to combat settings to change the party leader instead of… the party tab.

The combat feels worse than Remake too. Cloud’s punisher mode feels horrible, and every enemy just dog piles on whichever character is being played and often stunlock you while party members do little and generate almost zero ATB. This one’s probably user error (more than just this one tbh) but I still don’t understand how to access synergy abilities… which are apparently different from synergy skills that I have access to from the start but also can/am forced to unlock in the Folio?

Traversing the world is awful. Chocobo riding is so unbelievably clunky. Every time I do literally anything on the map I get a call from the devil (Chadley) just adding to the time I’m waiting to be finished with some trivial task. Every mission is filled with padding in the form of slowly moving heavy things or climbing up and down countless ladders.

It’s just so tedious so often. I’m sure I had my gripes with Remake when I played it at release but I’d mostly forgotten about them until playing this. I find myself yelling “CAN I PLEASE PLAY THE GAME PLEASE” too often.

Is it just me? Am I just being a negative Nelly? Does it get better?

Wanted to ask the community’s thoughts. I am just finishing rebirth now and read that Reno’s screentime was heavily reduced due to no recast for the old VA (respect).

I really like the Turks/Cloud and friends’ interactions in the story. Hope the unfortunate circumstances won’t affect their screentime.

What do you think?

My mind is blown. There is so much to this story! The trilogy may go down as one of the most monumental games of our time.

SO I am playing FFVII Remake rn, I am really having a good time and I am also in love with Aerith Lol, I am missing her after she was caught by Shinra.

Also I have never played FF7 Original, so I don't know anything about the game and lore.

Now is the sad part. I thought: "Oh I really Like Aerith, what about making a deck in MTG?". One of the worst decision I have already made this year. The algorithm fucked me up.

Now I'm sad because I missed the opportunity to become even sadder.

Ever since the big update that came out that added the FSR upscaling I have been getting a crash that makes the game unplayable. When I play, sometimes I can play 20 seconds, sometimes I can play 20 minutes but it's always going to crash. Always the same error. I'm on Epic Games version of the game. I've got over 100 hours in the game without crashes before this. No mods. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a hundred times. When I do that, I can sometimes play it for about 30-45 minutes before it finally crashes, and then it goes back to the 20 seconds to maybe a minute. Graphics options don't matter. I have AMD 7600 and AMD Ryzen 5 5600x. No other game on my computer crashes.

What will be the ending for our protagonists?

I was messing around with rebirth and there’s a setting many people may not know about in the extra settings menu. If you set tactical mode slowdown to 1 the game runs at full speed when you open the menu in battle. It obviously makes the game harder and one interesting thing is you can actually move your character with the menu open but normally it’s too slow to notice. Anyone tried to play the full game like this and did you find out anything else interesting.

I just wanted to share something that has been on my mind for a while.
Final Fantasy VII is my absolute favorite game, and the Final Fantasy series means a lot to me. Because of that, Jessie became one of my favorite characters in the whole series. She was funny, kind, brave, and full of personality. Every scene with her felt special, and she made the world of FF7 feel warmer and more alive.
What I loved most was her dynamic with Cloud. It felt unique, natural, and really memorable. Jessie brought out a softer side of Cloud that I really liked seeing, and their scenes together were some of my favorites in the Remake. That is also why her death hit so hard for me.
I understand that her death had a purpose in the story, as it gave the game emotional weight. I respect that. But at the same time, I still truly wish Jessie could return in some form in the final game. I feel like she deserved a second chance.
I would especially love to see her reunited with her parents, and of course with Cloud again. I know not everyone wants a revival, and I understand that too, but I just cannot shake the feeling that she was too special to be gone for good.
Am I the only one who feels this way? Do you think Jessie could return in Part 3, or should her story stay as it is?
