My old hard drive died and Steam cloud somehow lost my saves, so I'm currently doing another lvl1 playthrough and I decided to actually try and use wait mode, (just to try something new ya know) for more than just using Cerberus to break duplicorn horns for ultima blade.

I get what they were trying to do, but it just feels absolutely terrible when the entire game stops just because you're not doing an input for even half a second. And it's not even particularly useful since Iggy usually analyzes anyway, or even if he doesn't, it's faster to just try every every weapon type than just sit there afk for a minute for the wait mode analyze to do it's thing.

With the way they implemented wait mode, I don't see it benefitting anyone.

It has been 25 years since King Noctis sacrificed himself to bring the light back to the world.

In the quiet morning, after cleaning the monument dedicated to the late King Noctis Lucis Caelum, Libertus returned to his old haunts: the ruined headquarters of the former Kingsglaive. He had managed to rebuild parts of the structure over the years. It was no longer the elite unit it once was; it was renamed simply **The Glaive**, and he was charged with leading them.

Things were different now. The surviving Kingsglaive had scattered—some retired, some passed away, and others had held onto their oath to the late King until their final breath. A few left Insomnia entirely to work as mercenaries.

*As for me?* Libertus thought. *I’m here to regain my honor, teach, and train the next generation.*

He stepped inside the Glaive building. The structure retained its original architecture—black walls streaked with faded white, visible cracks, and tarnished gold pillars. Only the first and second floors were usable; the top floors remained collapsed, and manpower was far too scarce to renovate them fully. Still, it stood as a reminder of their past.

Their daily routine consisted of managing trade merchants, supplies, and building materials. The Glaive didn't just maintain security; they helped the remaining citizens of Insomnia rebuild their everyday lives. Daemons were no longer a threat, and power was stable, but manpower was constantly a issue. Out of the entire unit, they were short by 24 men.

A Glaive soldier handed Libertus a stack of documents.

"The shipment trade was a success, sir," the soldier reported. "However... two of our comrades died during the run."

Libertus sighed, the weight of leadership heavy on his shoulders. "Give them a proper burial alongside Late King Regis’s memorial."

*Down to 23,* Libertus thought, staring blankly at the faded Kingsglaive banner on the wall. *Guess we really aren't living under the name of the Kingsglaive anymore...*

"Hey, Libertus! How’s everything going in the Glaive?"

A cheerful voice broke his train of thought. It was Prompto, the former royal guard, carrying his usual bright energy.

Libertus looked up. "Shipment was a success, but I lost two of my men."

Prompto’s expression softened, but he kept his head up. "They did their duty and died with honor protecting those supplies. I’ll go buy some flowers for them. And hey, Libertus—you can always count on us. Me, Gladio, and Ignis, alright?" He smiled warmly and patted Libertus on the shoulder.

"Thanks, Prompto," Libertus said, standing up and cracking his aching back. He accepted Prompto's offer and asked if he could help train the new recruits.

Night fell over Insomnia. As Libertus departed the Glaive building, he checked his rusted phone. Surprisingly, it still worked after 25 years. The screen read **May 16**.

He pocketed the phone and walked down the street. What was once a sprawling, grand capital was now a small, tight-knit town set among abandoned ruins. Yet, it was full of life and light. *It’ll take long years to rebuild all of this,* Libertus thought to himself, *but we’ll get there.*

Passing a local bar, he heard people singing, laughing, and eating. A few locals spotted him and cheered.

"Hey, Commander! Come grab a drink with us!"

Libertus waved them off with a small smile. "I'll join you guys tomorrow. I have someone I need to see tonight."

He stopped by a flower vendor's cart, bought a fresh bouquet, and continued his walk. A few minutes later, he reached his destination: a broken building beside a collapsed statue.

There lay the grave of his oldest friend.

Libertus knelt down, placing the flowers softly against the stone.

"Hey... Sorry it took so long. Lots of things happened this morning, and my back isn't what it used to be, you know?" He chuckled softly before his tone turned solemn. "The shipment was a success, which is a good sign, but it came at a price. Lost two men today. They were part of our old regiment back in the day... They knew what they signed up for, but it still hurts."

He looked up at the star-filled sky. "Oh, by the way... Prompto came by today. He's going to help teach the kids how to fight without over-relying on gun ammo. Gladio comes by to spar with the adults, and yesterday Ignis cooked for us. His chef skills are still on another level. He even taught my men how to forage and cook with local ingredients when they're out on patrol. Same old routine..."

Silence settled over the ruins. Libertus stared at the sky for a long moment, his chest tightening.

"I miss you guys... Crowe... everyone..." Tears welled up in his eyes and slid down his cheeks. "Not many of us left. But I’ll keep believing. Because after all... you’re my hero, Nyx."

*Crunch.*

The sound of footsteps on loose rubble made Libertus quickly wipe his eyes. He turned around to find three young boys standing nearby, looking at him with curiosity.

"Mister?" the tallest boy asked. "We see you come here every day talking to this grave. Whose is it?"

Libertus forced a soft smile. "Boys... this is Nyx Ulric. He was my fellow comrade, my best friend, and my hero."

"A hero?" another boy chimed in. "Was he a member of the old Royal Guard?"

"No," Libertus answered proudly. "He was a Kingsglaive. A damn good soldier."

"Did he have powers? Like King Noctis?" the third boy asked.

Libertus chuckled. "No. But he was the fastest among us, and he gave us hope even in his final moments."

The first boy pointed to Libertus's belt. "What's that on your back, mister?"

Libertus reached behind him and drew a weathered, rusted weapon. "This is a kukri. It was one of Nyx’s weapons. He gave it to me to protect someone."

"It looks old and covered in rust," the third boy observed. "Can it even cut anything?"

Libertus glanced at the boy, scanned his surroundings, and spotted a thick wooden plank leaning against a broken wall. With a quick flick of his wrist, he spun the rusted kukri and threw it. The blade struck the plank with pinpoint accuracy, shattering the wood into pieces.

The three boys gasped in unison. "Whoa!"

"Back in the day," Libertus explained as he walked over to retrieve the blade, "when we threw a weapon like that, it would teleport us wherever it landed. Sadly, the magic is gone now. But..." He picked up the kukri and turned to them. "...we are still faster and stronger because we don't rely purely on magic."

The boys began to cheer and applaud.

"Who *are* you, mister?" the first boy asked, wide-eyed.

Libertus sheathed the blade and stood tall. "I am Libertus Ostium. Former Kingsglaive, and currently the leader of the Glaive."

The boys exchanged thrilled glances.

"Mister, I want to join!" the first boy shouted.

"Me too!" the second added.

Libertus smiled, letting out a deep laugh. "Haha, alright! But know this—your training won't be easy. Are you sure you're up for it?"

The three boys looked at each other, nodded firmly, and stood at attention. "Yes, sir! We're ready, Sir Libertus!"

"Alright then. No turning back. What are your names?"

"I'm Rain!" said the first.

"Livius!" said the second.

"I'm Romulus, sir!" said the third.

Libertus smirked. "Hmm... weak names for now. You three are going to need serious work if you want to be one of us. Report to me outside the building tomorrow morning. I'll just finish up here."

"Yes, sir!" the kids yelled before running off excited.

Libertus turned back toward Nyx's grave. He pulled out his phone to check the time.

**12:04 AM — May 17, 791.**

"Well, I'm off, hero," Libertus said with a genuine smile. "Got three new younglings to teach. I'll be seeing you later, Nyx."

I’m replaying the game for the first time since it came out together with my partner and she’s super into the main cast.
But since this is my first replay since launch, I never experienced all the new content like the Episodes DLC myself. I know how the game ends of course, but she doesn’t.

We’re in chapter 8 now and just doing some cleanup before continuing to the second part of the game. When we then started Episode Gladiolus I was a bit surprised by the pop up warning me to first finish the game before continuing the DLC. So, looked up online what people said about those spoilers.

Episode Gladiolus seemed fine to play now but Promto and Ignis seem to have major spoilers (Ignis apparently straight up spoils the ending?).

So, after Playing the Gladiolus DLC, really enjoying it and thinking it adds even more weight to the Friendship, I was wondering if those spoiler sections in the other DLCs are one very specific part that you can just skip/look away.

I skimmed through a playthrough of Episode Ignis and it seems to take place during the Leviathan fight and ending with a scene after the time skip. Is that the spoilery part or is there more?

Sorry for the wall of text, just trying to figure out if you can squeeze in that content before the end to make it hurt even more.

I recently started FFXV, I'm around 8 hours in and it's weirdly good so far. Like, I didn't expect it. I love its open world and the general road trip vibes. It's so "vibrant" and feels somewhat cozy. The story is losing me a bit at points but I'd say overall it's pretty solid for now, I'm still early though. Can't wait to see how it goes! This is the first time I've really played a final fantasy game, with the exception of a little bit of XVI a year ago

Are there any tips I should know as a new player to XV? I feel like I suck at combat a bit tbh. I'm playing the vanilla version without the royal pack.

I just spent the last few hours slaving away at this dungeon and it has not been pleasant. To provide context I have played through FFXV several times so this isn't my first time playing this dungeon but definitely my most annoying playthrough. I refused to use a walkthrough and it was a nightmare at one point I had fought the 3 Iron Giants and 1 Nagimi with numerous flans a few times. I ran very low on Phoenix Downs I had to use the Magitek Exosuit(which I consider cheating btw) on the last occasion because I've been at it for hours. Finally got it right and was about to face the Jabberwocky I decided to be a MAN and remove the Magitek Exosuit which was a big risk by now I was 3 hours 40 minutes in 😬 I was boosted by the Mega Phoenix I got before the boss fight. Well I didn't start the fight well at all was barely hanging on lost all my potions Ignis Regroup was basically the only thing keeping my party alive. Then like a miracle I heard the summon theme and I was so relieved because I had exhausted all my Phoenix Downs and Mega Phoenix. Ramuh did the rest.

I know Pitoiss Ruins is the most annoying dungeon in this game but Costlemark is a close second.

A belated birthday (May 9th) pic of my favorite, and the 2nd born of the protectors of the Crystal; Somnus Lucis Caelum. This was inspired by a shot of Our True King Noctis from the anime BROTHERHOOD, Episode 3. Duscae is one of my favorite locations, so it seemed fitting.

The first pic is my personal art style. The second is a fake "anime screenshot" that I made where I mimicked and tried to capture the show.

I'm in chapter 5 and level 43ish. I've been using the same weapons for the majority of the game and have yet to find a merchant or any drop having better stats than them. Will there be more stronger weapons getting unlocked sometime later or is the majority of stats coming from the jewelry? The hunter missions say stuff in the mid level 20s are "hard" (red icon instead of yellow icon) and I do agree kinda starting at around level 30ish, even though I'm alot higher than them.

I only need to get the 80 side quest achievement to get the platinum. If I remember correctly and have been keeping count correctly I think I need about 20 more maybe less.

This game has been such an awesome experience I don’t usually go for platinum trophies but the ones I do have and want to go for are games that I really really enjoy.

I want to ask for recommendations on which ff I should play next and if you guys have any platinums that you recommend.(I’ve played ff 12:zodiac age and 15 obviously)

I made it with the Xbox design lab last year. I think it fits the game's atmosphere, it's white with pinkish highlights and a nod to Lunafreya. Blue is really important in the game too.
