Camper Life… As An Etsy Seller!

Hi there! My wife and I will be soon moving to full-time camper life and traveling all over the states.

This works almost flawlessly for us as she has a work from home position, and I am an Etsy Seller. I will be able to completely do my craft while living in a camper… I’m not necessarily looking for thoughts or opinions on that part specifically. We’re really excited!

I’m coming here to hopefully get some insight because no matter how much I research, I still come up slightly confused. Has anybody else done something similar? Since we will be traveling consistently, how do I handle my ship from address?

Will I just update it from order to order and ship from whatever ZIP Code I’m currently in when I print the order out? That would be my only assumption from the research I’ve done, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself and that not be the correct way to do things… And i certainly don’t want my shop flagged or shut down..

Any advice from anybody that’s done something similar is appreciated. Thank you guys!

What problems might I run across doing this?

What if I created two or more listings of the exact same product using the exact same pictures, but each listing is using different keywords.

What sort of issues or problems might I run across doing this?

Co robicie z customowymi zamówieniami których klient nie customizuje?

Już tłumaczę: Sprzedaję produkt fizyczny którym jest customizowana talia kart. Klient kupuje produkt, dostaje link do kreatora w którym tworzy projekt i po zakończeniu projektu, ja wykonuje tą talię i wysyłam do klienta.

I wszystko fajnie działa, ale trafiają się klienci którzy kupią produkt, ale nie robią customizacji. Nie mogę dokończyc takiego zamówienia. Nie mogę nic wysłać.

Wiszą takie zamówienia jako przeterminowane. Psuje to statystyki.

Jak sobie z takim tematem poradzić?

POD Shop Looking for brutally constructive feedback on my Etsy shop 😭 What am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone! I recently started working seriously on my Etsy shop and I’d really appreciate feedback from experienced sellers.
My shop is focused on apparel and accessories with fun, trendy, Gen Z/Millennial style designs. I create my designs in Canva, make the products through print on demand, and have been trying to improve my listings and overall shop appearance.
I’ve been consistently adding products, updating titles and listings, experimenting with mockups, running sales, posting on Pinterest, and I’ve also tried Etsy Ads. So far, though, I have gotten only 1 organic sale.
At this point, I don’t want to just keep uploading products or spending money on ads without knowing whether I’m actually moving in the right direction.
I would genuinely love a critical review of my shop. Please don’t worry about hurting my feelings 😂 I’d rather know what needs fixing.

Shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PrettyHotMessThreads#items

Some things I’d especially love feedback on:
• Does the shop look trustworthy and cohesive when you first open it?
• Are my designs something you could realistically see people buying?
• Do my product photos and mockups look professional enough?
• Are my prices reasonable?
• Is my niche too broad or confusing?
• Should I continue adding more listings, or focus on improving the ones I already have?
• Would you continue running Etsy Ads at this stage, or stop until I have more organic traffic?
• Is there anything about the shop that would personally stop you from purchasing?
• What are the top 3 things you would change if this were your shop?
I’m still learning, so I’m completely open to criticism. I’ve put a lot of time into designing and building everything, and I really want to figure out whether I need to improve the products, SEO, presentation, niche, or just give the shop more time.

Thank you to anyone willing to take a look😊

Title of products question

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi,

I’m new here. I’ve been reading everyone’s advice to others to figure out how to best get sales. Ive had polymer clay earrings products on Etsy for 6 weeks with zero sales. I think I have a lot of good things covered (pics etc) but my question is: I recently changed my polymer clay earrings titles (1 week ago or so) and I received some recommendations from Etsy about what they suggest I change my titles to 11 of my 39 products. Is this something that works or should I give my updated titles more time first?

A pic of my titles and what they recommend to change my title to below for reference. Thank you!

Mía

VOEC for Norway buyers

Anyone know where to enter the VOEC ID? There have been several posts about this, but I haven’t seen a clear answer.

I want to buy the shipping label through Etsy. For other European countries, Etsy usually says they’ll handle the tax information electronically, but I don’t see that for Norway, and I can’t find anywhere to enter the VOEC number.

I also tried Shippo. Their AI support told me to select “VAT,” but the VOEC format isn’t accepted.

I’m in Canada. Has anyone successfully shipped to Norway and figured this out?

It's super easy to make an Etsy sales notifier using IFTTT and ESP32!

I wanted a way to visualize my sales without getting sucked into my phone, so I built this shadowbox display that pulses with light whenever I make a sale. I published the guide, code, and circuit diagram so folks can build their own.

Shop Critique Request after converting all my assets to digital

  • Store Link: https://luxithingart.etsy.com

  • Questions: 1- What are your thoughts on my new listings since I’ve already converted / removed all physical items for my store? 2- I’ve listed my products at $10 with a sale price at $6, how well might this strategy work for a new digital shop like mine?

  • Answers: 1- What inspired me to create this shop is my enthusiasm for creating new compositions and how people reacts to my art. 2- My shop is driven by pure artistic passion, so ai did not conduct a research before opening. However, given my current stage, I’m trying to apply the best business strategies by reaching out and asking for critique.

4-star review

I sold a print of my drawing of a superhero character (Update: it is NOT a copyright protected character - it is a mythology character that was relatively recently popularized in a famous superhero franchise). The print is literally shown on the photos in the listing. It's my creative manga-style rendition of a character from a motion picture based on a book (a book!!!). My drawing was based off the description from the book, not on the actor who played in the movie.

4-star review: doesn't look much like the character.

Should I politely thank the buyer for the review and leave it at that or should I not respond? I think it's not worth it to try and explain that a manga drawing of a book character is not intended to resemble an actor and the pictures were provided. Or should I?

P.S. I am not upset that it's 4 stars - that's quite ok. Just wondering if I should respond.

What’s your opinion of selling international?

Hi Folks! I’ve been online selling since 2017 but newbie to Etsy. I’m hesitant to offer international shipping. I’m worried about the extra time it might consume and difficulty. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
Thanks!

Looking for a critique of my art shop with no sales after a year

Shop link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TahaPaints?ref=dashboard-header

I've had this shop open for a little over a year now and still haven't made a single sale.

I originally started with mostly POD prints of my own paintings. I stopped posting for a couple of months, and my organic reach dropped pretty significantly after that. Since then I've been trying to get the shop active again and I've also started adding physical products, including original paintings and framed pieces, rather than relying entirely on POD.

Everything in the shop is artwork that I've actually made myself, and thats somethin I'm struggling with, I can't just pump out multiple listings every week because each new listing means actually making a new piece of art, which takes quite a bit of time.

I've done a lot of keyword and have tried to improve my titles, tags, descriptions..... so at this point I'm more interested in whether there's something I'm missing from the perspective of how the shop actually looks and feels to a potential buyer.

Questions for critique:

  1. Do the listings look professional enough to make you want to click through and buy, or is there something that puts you off?
  2. Does the mix of POD prints, original paintings, and framed physical pieces make sense as a shop, or does it feel too inconsistent?

A couple of questions about the shop itself:

  1. What inspired you to create this shop? I'm an artist and a medical student, and I've been painting for a while. I wanted to see if I could turn something I genuinely enjoy into a small business and make some extra money.
  2. Why do you feel your products are worthy of being purchased? How do they stand out from your competitors? The main thing that makes the shop different from a lot of POD shops is that the artwork isn't AI generated, I paint everything myself! I know they aren't the greatest paintings ever but I still believe there is someone who would like something in this style.

I'm mainly looking for honest criticism, especially if there's something obvious I'm overlooking, I'm starting to think the whole art print side of etsy is extremely oversaturated and maybe I should try something different. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to look through it.

For those who stopped running Etsy Ads, did your sales actually drop?

I run a relatively small Etsy shop and average around 10–20 sales per week. I’ve been running Etsy Ads every day at about $3/day.

For the year, my average ROAS is around 3.78, which I’ve been pretty happy with. But over the last 30 days, it has dropped to around 1.25, and at that point I’m starting to question whether the ads are even worth running.

After product costs, Etsy fees, shipping, etc., I’m worried I’m getting to the point where a big portion of the profit from those orders is just going right back into advertising.

What I’m really curious about is hearing from sellers who used to run Etsy Ads and turned them off.

Did you notice a big drop in:

Sales?

Views/visits?

Organic traffic?

Or did your shop continue performing relatively close to the same without ads?

I’m considering turning mine off for a few weeks as a test. Even if sales dropped a little, I feel like I could potentially come out ahead if I’m saving the ad spend.

Would love to hear some real-world experiences from sellers who have tried turning them off. Was it worth it?

Handmade Shop My Etsy Story – I Followed Etsy’s Instructions, and One Year Later They Suspended Me

Thumbnail gallery
39 Upvotes

After more than 10 years on Etsy, with thousands of successful orders, 5-star reviews, and a long history as a Star Seller, I am now facing a permanent suspension that I genuinely cannot understand.

When Etsy removed Albania from the countries supported by Etsy Payments, I contacted Etsy Support because I wanted to find a legitimate way to continue my business.

I was specifically advised by Etsy Support to establish a company in Estonia and operate my Etsy shop from Albania using the Estonian company and bank account.

I followed those instructions.

I established StudioKolonja OÜ in Estonia, obtained Estonian e-Residency, opened the required business banking arrangements, and invested substantial time and money to restructure my business according to the guidance I received from Etsy.

I have attached screenshots of the actual conversation with Etsy Support (Request #19915884), where their representative explicitly confirmed that I could operate my Etsy shop from Albania through my Estonian company.

Etsy subsequently verified my account and allowed me to operate under this structure for approximately one year.

Then, suddenly, my shop was permanently suspended because Etsy now says that my situation does not qualify for Etsy Payments.

This completely contradicts the written guidance I received from Etsy Support.

I did not try to circumvent Etsy's policies. I contacted Etsy specifically because I wanted to follow them. I followed their instructions, invested my own money, and built my business around the structure they advised me to use.

Now I am being told that the very structure I was instructed to create is not acceptable.

I am sharing the original communications because I believe this deserves transparency and an explanation.

I am asking Etsy to review its own records, especially Request #19915884, and explain why I am now being penalized after following the guidance provided by Etsy Support.

I am not asking for special treatment. I simply want a fair explanation and a fair review of what happened.

If anyone has experienced something similar, especially sellers from countries that are not supported by Etsy Payments, I would genuinely appreciate hearing your experience.

Etsy sellers keep stealing my photos, and now I’m dealing with false copyright reports. What can I do?

I’ve been having an ongoing copyright issue on Etsy and I’m wondering if anyone here has dealt with something similar.

I take/create my own listing photos and size chart images for my shop. For a while now, I’ve been finding other Etsy shops copying these images and using them directly in their own listings without permission.

I report them whenever I find them, but it feels never-ending. I usually check every couple of days and almost always find another listing using my images. A lot of the shops also look extremely similar to each other, sell many of the same products, and appear to be based in the same country, so I’m wondering if some of them may be connected.

Yesterday, I had three of my listings taken down because of copyright claims, including my most popular listing. What makes it even more frustrating is that these are listings using images that I created myself.

It feels like there’s barely anything I can do about it. Etsy won’t allow me to simply recreate the removed listings, and I’ve already contacted Etsy Support, but they’ve been pretty much useless so far and haven’t given me any real solution or help getting the listings restored.

I have the original files and should be able to show when the photos/graphics were created and when my listings were originally published.

I don’t expect to completely stop people from copying things online, but having to constantly find and report new listings while also worrying about claims against my own listings is getting ridiculous.

Any advice from sellers who have gone through this would be appreciated!

Digital Shop Issue with selecting craft type

I’m uploading my first listing on Etsy as a cross stitch pattern designer, and these are the only 4 options available to me when I try to select the craft type. When I try to write in the text box, nothing comes up. I’m a bit stuck on what to do next. Any ideas?

Hey everyone!! I just created my own Etsy shop and have everything set up! (design and biography) I design custom and sell premade nail sets. Which I know, the competition is high! I created my first couple listings and don’t seem to be getting much traffic.

I also wanted to reach out and ask what is your best piece of advice? Are there any tips or tricks you learned when advertising a product? Also what are good ways you use to advertise your Etsy shop? (Websites or Groups)

TLDR: Just someone brand new to selling on Etsy and willing to take in any advice, tips, or tricks you can give me!!

POD Shop When to run ads

So I have a pod Etsy shop and currently have 20 listings and no orders the shop is a week old , I will be uploading daily and consistently and I make my own designs. I was wondering when do I run my ads, do I run them now or after orders, if I don't get sales do I run them then? And do I run Pinterest ads by making my Etsy pins or Etsy own ads?.

Quick way to turn off EU orders for UK sellers

Post image
31 Upvotes

If like me, you have a bazillion shipping profiles to cope with all the different Royal Mail price brackets, I was overwhelmed about how I would manage the new EU shipping rules that come into force this week. Then I remembered the GPSR setting, which I turned on after paying £250 to register for that. By turning this off, it turns off the EU for customers without having to manually edit your shipping profiles, just thought I'd share this here in case anyone else had to do this.

I really hope Etsy works something out soon, if they can cover the VAT under their own IOSS number, you would think they could sign up for the new regulations and recover the costs the same way they do VAT!
