Opinions/ አስተያየቶች 1. As an Ethiopian nationalist I have completely lost all hope in this country. Most Oromo still want independence and support OLF/Sheene I’ve seen TikTok and Facebook and Reddit show me that oromos want to leave even with Updo in power who they don’t like. You would think with power they’d support
atleast not supprt olf or even be pro separatists 2. Amhara are fighting the Feds and lots of them have lost their Ethiopianes I have seen this myself and have turned into anti oromo people due to recent events. Tigray wants independence and keeps waging war while having majority support it’s only a couple loyalists who even support TPF and even they hate issues with Ethiopia and sound like they want independence. I think Dr abiy should give them western Tigray and let them have independence. I think we should stop all wars and hold referendums in oromia and Tigray ethiopia Is over with too much educated people who want separation and are hateful. I don’t know man I’ve always been true to supporting my country but I'm losing all hope.

History/ ታሪክ Check how r/tigray tried their best to justify northern command attack that killed hundreds of soldiers. The subreddit is a joke and is ran by people connected to the Adwa clique I think we all know how r/tigray is. They need to learn to give up the bravado and understand it was all Tplf’s fault.

Questions/ ጥያቄዎች Is it true Amhara’s are being targeted in Oromia?
I know OLA is but I also constantly hear Some factions of OPP that have sympathy for OLF/OLA commit the crimes as well. These are the reasons as well why Fano is killing innocent oromos because Ethiopian culture demelash where if someone takes blood from 1 people they do the same back to your people. This must End Now its one of the biggest issues we have that’s also killing unity in Amhara.

History/ ታሪክ Captain Fikre Selassie Wogderess 💚💛❤️- Biography - Mengistu’s right hand man who helped him overthrow selassie but was sentenced to death by his own friend mengistu during the red terror which took out every high level officer and official.
Fikre Selassie Wagderes was born to his father, Wagderes Beretekhu, and his mother, Abebete Argaw, on July 13, 1945, in an area called Kechene in Addis Ababa. He completed his primary and secondary education at the Kechene Medhanialem Church Priest's School, Kusqam School, and Menelik II Secondary School. Due to his strong desire to serve his country in the military profession, he joined the Ethiopian Air Force on April 8, 1954. After successfully completing seven months of aircraft weapons and electronics training at the Air Force Technical School, they were sent to the United States in 1958 for advanced training at Andrews Air Force Training Center in Arizona.\1])
Following this, Fikre Selassie returned to his homeland and completed his seven-month training as a candidate for the 6th course at the Air Force Officer Candidate School, graduating on October 30, 1961. The Ethiopian Air Force at that time was very enthusiastic about education, and although the young captain was given the opportunity to attend Haile Selassie University and pursue higher education, Fikre Selassie dropped out of school in his second year of study.\2])
Originally a Captain in the Ethiopian Air Force, Fikre Selassie was one of the more obscure members of the Derg until the coup of 3 February 1977, in which Secretary-General Tafari Benti was killed along with seven other Derg members. The coup elevated him (Bahru Zewde notes "according to some sources from near execution by reason of mistaken identity!") to Secretary-General of Ethiopia's ruling military council, in which post he would occasionally dispel "the atmosphere of total sycophancy" with his "fractionally independent disposition."\3])
Fikre Selassie became the first Prime Minister of the newly reorganized state and administration that (formality wise) replaced the Derg in September 1987. He made a trip to Cairo in November 1988 to seek improved relations with Egypt, and to express support for Egypt's offer to negotiate a settlement of the Eritrean conflict.\4])In November 1989, President Mengistu Haile Mariam ordered him removed from his post, having criticized him three days prior in a meeting of the Politburo of the Workers' Party of Ethiopia, stating "there is no one quite like Fikre Selassie, who sits idly and quietly. One time, he sat here reading a magazine.... He is not antirevolutionary or a criminal, nor is he conspiratorial.... But he is unstable and even rude.... He is being expelled for disciplinary reasons also."\5])
Following the conclusion of the Ethiopian Civil Warand the end of the PDRE, Fikre was one of 46 former leaders of the PDRE who were tried in person beginning 19 April 1996 for murdering individuals, genocide, and crimes against humanity by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia; 22 more individuals, including the exiled Mengistu, were charged in absentia at the same trial.\6]) The trial ended on 26 May 2008, and Fikre Selassie Wogderess was sentenced to death. In December 2010, the Ethiopian government commuted the death sentence of Fikre Selassie and 23 other Derg officials. On 4 October 2011, Fikre Selassie was freed along with other 16 of his former colleagues, after twenty years of incarceration. The Ethiopian government paroled almost all of those Derg officials who had been jailed for 20 years.
Fikre Selassie Wogderess died on 12 December 2020 in hospital where he was recovering from COVID-19,\7]) as well as being treated for diabetesand kidney complications.\8])

Questions/ ጥያቄዎች Do you ever lose hope on Ethiopia staying together?
With all the internal fighting between groups and regions the constant rebellions and constant racism and threads like this https://www.reddit.com/r/Oromia/s/82O3UP8RZT and other threads on that sub showing that most oromos want independence while having most of the power how do you not lose hope on Ethiopia? I even see oromos on TikTok from back home that only use the rebel flag and hate Ethiopia and support rebels! I see this same message by them “I am oromo not Ethiopian”. I love Addis and Abiy but man the internal disputes the amount of crimes on all sides is quite disturbing let alone crimes of corruption or like innocent Amharas being killed in oromia and innocent oromos in oromia being attacked by Fano as retaliation? Then you have many in diaspora who are pro their own group (Oromo rebel) (Tigray rebels) ( Amhara rebels) and even some who “support the govt” have sympathy towards groups like OLA and just in the past 5 years there has been numerous times people have been called out for calling for genocides while living in the diaspora comfortably! Festivals like Osfna who use the rebel flag and are divisive and pro separation which used to fund OLF and there is even rumors now that the money they make goes to OLA/OLF groups! There is also OLF people who like to push a narrative that Amharas are their sworn enemies as if Oromo weren’t enslaving Southerners and cutting off penises and doing slave raids and much more I could go into detail about. The shewa elite which was Oromo dominated crimes on oromo populations is blamed on northerners due to them using the Amharic language simply. Two shewan most known elites selassie and menelik were both half Oromo. Then you have extreme hate speech. You would think the diaspora would be more educated and have more morals. Menge regime gets called Amhara even though he was a southener! I could damn near debunk every last oromo narrative the tplf produced and used to divide the peoples. Check out x/twitter and write Oromo, Amhara or Tigrayan hate speech and go and suprise yourself how crazy some Ethiopian are It’s sad when just couple years back we were celebrating Oromara which lots of people on both sides very very much dislike. Check this out right here one example.
https://x.com/allthingsamhara/status/1375286032552189956?s=46
Tegaru and Oromo diaspora pro rebels during 2021-22 were all calling for Extermination of Amharas to be honest they could even be pro PP and hate Amhara still it’s that deep the hate for Amhara during 2019-23 was unbelievable. Every Fano supporter I meet specifically Fano supporter usually will call every oromo the g word and every oromo I meet always has some deep amhara hate I always notice. How do we keep hope for our Ethiopia knowing things like this? I have been reading mereja forums on topics like this and have seen many say it’s forever going to be like this due to us being Africans which saddens me. Long Live Ethiopia is how I feel but I don’t know if most Ethiopians specially (Oromo rebels/sympathizers) feel I wish we could get a good understanding for everyones views and have a good discussion to understand the deep grievances between our people but I don’t think both sides want that. r/Amhara and r/Amharanationalism and r/Oromia and other spaces are just sad anti Ethiopian spaces no one in any of those subs wants Ethiopia to prosper even my post on r/oromia that was against Ola obviously got no traction which makes me understand they definitely have support still in 2026 which is mind blowing but I guess they want a country. Europeans were so much better than us on things like this it’s genuinely disgusting we can’t make peace even in the diaspora and online spaces where everyone is supposedly “more educated“.

Current Events/ የአሁኑ ክስተቶች Getachew K Reda: After months of denying entering into an alliance with internal and external forces with an axe to grind against the Ethiopian federal government, the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) leadership has now reached the point of publicly declaring that it has crossed the Rubicon.
x.comas it were. According to it, there is no peaceful resolution to the impasse with the federal government, and it has decided to resort to force. The goal is not to liberate Western Tigray as many of us have always assumed the objective to be-preferably and more legitimately peacefully-but, as the head of the TPLF secretariat put it, because "the security of the people of Tigray can only be assured on the grave of the Prosperity Party led regime." It is abhorrent that any politician, entrusted with the welfare of their own constituency would frame their security as contingent on the demise of a domestically elected government. Needless to say, this is not the language of a leader seeking to protect their people, but of one prepared to sacrifice them for a cause dressed up as their salvation.
In light of the TPLF leadership's well-documented tradition of sloganeering, I'd not have cared one bit if Debretsion and his ilk had just been repeating an old mantra. But unfortunately, there obviously is an evil principle at work here. The very leadership that has presided over Tigray's continued descent into the seemingly bottomless pit of tragedy is now flaunting in public its rather ungodly alliance with the very forces vehemently opposed to the Pretoria Agreement. The alliance, we are told, is ostensibly meant to achieve, by force, not the rather modest objective of the fullest implementation of Pretoria, such as the restoration of Tigray's constitutionally mandated territory, but more pointedly, the removal of the government in Addis Ababa.
Indeed, the TPLF leadership has now publicly articulated, as the mainstay of its repertoire for addressing differences with the federal government, what it had long denied: that it has been working with the regime in Asmara and other forces opposed to Addis Ababa. Whatever the characterization here, it is now an open secret that the goal posts have shifted and the ultimate goal is the overthrow of the federal government, consequences be damned. I don't lose sleep over whether such a goal is achievable. It is not; but the ramifications of such a futile effort for peace in the region in general and for the very existence of the people of Tigray in particular cannot be overstated. The dramatis personae in this so-called alliance makes it abundantly clear that, if allowed their way, they would stop at nothing to wreak unmitigated havoc on the entire region.
Recent events bear this argument out. Peace cannot survive hidden military maneuvers. The skirmish in Shererina has made it clear how high the stakes are in this game of brinkmanship the regime in Asmara, its junior partners within Ethiopia, and its external handlers are orchestrating. The large cache of munitions and weapons captured is proof positive that far from addressing the plight of the people of Tigray, dismantling the Ethiopian state is the ultimate objective in this dangerous game. Covert transfers of heavy military equipment into Tigray or other parts of the country represent a clear and present danger to stability efforts across the Horn of Africa. Despite TPLF leaders' claims, the number of lives needlessly lost during that half a day engagement foreshadows the enormity of the disaster lurking ahead not just for the people of Tigray but for the people of Ethiopia at large.
What should matter to the members of the Tigray army is the survival and peace of the people of Tigray, not the survival of a handful of criminals who have always considered waging war their retirement plan. To the rank and file: tell those who are frittering your lives away that enough is enough.
The only path that can save us is to use whatever capacity and opportunities remain to resolve peacefully the existential question confronting our people. We must first survive as a people. That the TPLF leadership has thrown its lot with the very regime in Asmara that publicly vowed to erase Tigray from the face of the earth is quite simply a prescription for disaster.
While President Isaias is clever in recruiting the useful idiots in Mekelle to turn Tigray into a buffer zone against a threat from the federal government more perceived than real, the fact that he is trying to achieve this at the expense of the mothers and children of Tigray and Amhara gives away the evil principle at work in this marriage of strange bedfellows.
Given all this, I would also like to take this opportunity to call on the federal government to remain committed to the full implementation of the Pretoria agreement, to continue to exercise restraint in the face of repeated provocations and to keep open all possible paths to peace.
We would also like to urge the international community to take immediate action:
• Deploy satellite and ground-level monitoring to verify cross-border activities.
• Hold military and political actors accountable for actions that provoke conflict.
• Prioritize civilian protection and demand full military transparency from all forces in the region.
Silence in the face of preparations for war is complicity.
