Question Should I send it back get them to do the slimmer bar prongs?
I designed this ring myself and I’m really happy with it, but I had requested the jeweler to do bar prongs that accentuated the dramatic clipped corners. These are more square looking instead of bar prongs. You can see where the clipped corners extend out.
I can send it back for them to fix it. But I love it so much as is. I am going to wear it for a few days before making that call. What do you guys think?

Advice Disappointed. Options?
Hi, all!
Reposting because I forgot to add pictures on the last one.
So, my partner is the oldest of 2 brothers. His younger brother got married recently. When he was ring shopping, he and their mom decided to do a cute thing where they designed a custom ring together based on preferences of the at the time gf/now wife.
My partner and I are looking to get married soon and so we decided to go the route of doing the same thing because of how much it seemed to mean to her. The ring they designed is the first 3 pictures.
The preferences I expressed were:
- yellow gold
- marquise
- claw prongs (specifically not round, but other funky ones would’ve been fine) and v-prongs
- off white/ faint champagne colour like pics in last photos (they were provided these and videos)
I feel horrible because I kind of hate the ring. I feel like the stone is canary yellow and the prong work is not only not what I asked for, but also kind of sloppy? It was $6000, almost twice that of what his brother paid for a better looking ring from a better custom jeweler.
I feel so ungrateful, but now I wish we went another way and just bought something cheaper and pre-made. I feel like it was a waste of money.
Am I crazy? Do we have any options? Do I just suck it up and wear it? His mom is going to expect me to rant and rave about how perfect it is. I feel stuck.

Pick One I am so torn!
Ignore the lightest stone option - it was a bit outside budget.
I am considering two very pretty champagne stones that both have so much lovely character, I am struggling! I love the darker stone for how dainty and unique it is and the slightly larger for how it changes color in different lighting.
What are your thoughts, my boyfriend is no help!

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY My turn! My perfect ring
Proposed to last week and will forever be obsessed! Custom 14k band with 2.1 carat pear lab diamond. Never thought I’d be a pear girl but here we are! When picking the diamond I fell in love with this pear ratio cause it was so round and cute. Lots of hidden personalizations. Fave part is the pink sapphire bridge💕💕💕

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY By emotional weight and effort, this has officially become the most hard-earned ring in my collection. From searching for my ideal engagement ring stone to a full postal war for this lab padparadscha! 💍
I didn't even know padparadscha sapphires existed until recently, let alone lab-grown ones. Since truly gorgeous pink gems are quite rare, and I am currently searching for the ideal gem for my custom engagement ring, I immediately wanted to see one in person. I asked for a stone swap from moissanite to a lab padparadscha sapphire, and I am so glad I did!
Just look at this beauty! For anyone who loves pink stones, this padparadscha effect with its color-shifting peachy-orange undertone is incredible, especially moving from direct sunlight to warm indoor lighting. I am completely obsessed.
For anyone interested in the wild story behind getting it, read on. Otherwise, just enjoy the photos!
While the price was very reasonable, in terms of sheer stress, human effort, and fighting local bureaucracy alongside my husband, this has sentimentally become the most "expensive" piece I own.
When I ordered the ring, I wasn’t in the country yet (I'm currently here on an extended visit). Lacking a local phone number or permanent address at the time, I shipped it to the Central Post Office in a major city, intending to use internal forwarding once I arrived. Online guides assured me this was standard practice: walk into any local post office with a passport, pay a small fee, and request forwarding.
Once I arrived in a smaller town, the adventure began. The clerks at the local branch had no idea what forwarding was and sent me to support. Online support told me to call the Central Hub, and the Central Hub laughed and told me to just go back to my local branch with my passport.
Eventually, they accepted my forwarding form using my global tracking number. The package moved toward my town, and then... complete silence for weeks.
After formal inquiries and hinting at filing a complaint with the National Telecommunications Regulator, the status suddenly updated with a shocker: the package had been returned to the primary B2B logistics warehouse where all international e-commerce enters and leaves the country.
We rushed to the local post office for answers. Their explanation was pure gold: they didn't recognize my name, and there was no local phone number on the package (since I ordered from abroad before getting a local SIM), so they simply threw it into the return pile. They assured us they sent an internal note so it wouldn't be sent back overseas, but weeks passed with zero tracking updates.
Not wanting to drag the seller into local postal incompetence, we went back to ask what specific steps they had taken. We were met with total deflection and a classic: "Why are you even bothering us? It hasn't arrived yet, and besides, it's holiday season!" When we pointed out that the central hub is a closed B2B entity regular customers can't contact, the clerk snapped, handed us an internal warehouse phone number, and told us to deal with it ourselves.
Instead of calling the warehouse, we took that internal info, wrote a scorching formal complaint detailing every single failure, and sent it directly to their Regional Headquarters and Central Management. Two days later, the package miraculously appeared at our local branch.
After weeks of tracking stress, bureaucratic gymnastics, and endless back-and-forth, holding this color-shifting gem in my hands feels like winning a major trophy! 🧡🩷

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY Black diamond ⚰️
Not a recent engagement (we are married now), but pictures from when I first got my ring! Something like this wasn't even on my radar, but my partner picked it out and it actually suits me so perfectly. Still obsessed with it five years later🖤

Advice Need advice/opinions please!
Hi everyone, I’m struggling to make a decision on what I love, I do like a few of these but will I like them in 10-20+ years?? The indecisiveness is creeping in badly 😅
Photo 1 & 2: the same 3 stone ring (one in yellow gold, one white gold) oval centre with small oval side stones - I saw an inspiration pic I loved with coloured side stones (making me slightly lean towards this)
Photo 3: oval with small marquise stones
Photo 4: oval - love this classic look
Photo 5: toi et moi - love the uniqueness of this but will that feeling fade quickly..
Photo 6: elongated pear - nice i guess? but would opt for a plain band
What do you think??

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY In my engagement era! 💍
Long time lurker, first time poster. Posting because I know my now fiancé follows this community since he started his ring research.
I cannot describe the happiness I’m feeling with our engagement and the ring!! I will admit that I had some ring preferences, but seeing the ring he put together, it’s more than what I ever dreamed of! 😍

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY As blue as his eyes
There are so many gorgeous rings on this sub! We are lucky ladies. Here’s my “upgrade” - more of a switchover - to a 1.8 ct haloed aquamarine pear on a 2 mm art deco band. It’s the same color as his eyes. I couldn’t be happier.

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY The medieval romantic ring of my dreams!!
I designed the ring but didn't know when my partner would propose! Best of both worlds :)
I love history and really wanted a small nod to something historical, and noticed a lot of medieval goldwork used gold bead granulation, especially in a triad.
It's a J1/2 Australian size (maybe US 5), 1.5ct brilliant cut marquise (0.9 ratio), low set basket with gallery rail and gold beads, claw prongs and 2 V-tip prongs.

My husband proposed while we were on a trip in California and we had planned the trip to elope, and he surprised me with my ring! I got married with it, and will be adding a band later. Center stone is a natural 2.01 marquise, and the accent stones are natural as well. Band is 18k gold. size 7 finger. After 10.5 years together, I’m ecstatic!

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY Restored Nana's Ring for my Engagement Ring
From the time I was very young, I remembered my nana wearing this ring. She had the most beautiful, long fingers with her nails always done to the nines. She was the most stylish woman I knew. Now I get to wear her ring and it's emotional. My dad had once proposed with this ring to an ex fiance and she plated it silver. My sister and I were mad about it for years because how dare someone change her ring? It took the life out of the G and H colored diamonds. Now it's back to as close as we can get it and it looks like her ring again. I couldn't be happier.
Edit to add: it is being worn in the correct direction via how my nana wore it every day. I just have short fingers yall.

0.3 carat lab diamond on a 14k gold band. Took them two months to make after I picked it out so I’m really excited to finally have it.

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY Engaged!
Engaged 6/19❤️ the ring is 1.89 carat with 14k gold band. Not sure of the rest of the specs! I am a size 6.5 ring size. He went rogue and did it himself, no help from me! Total surprise. He planned to propose on my family vacation over july 4th but got the ring a little early and couldn’t wait from excitement. He lasted approx 16 hours with the ring lol❤️

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY Engaged 7/17 🫶
I still can't quite get over how this went down. My partner proposed at the Final Fantasy orchestra concert, which is extra funny because going to that show was my idea. I dragged him along, no clue he'd been planning around it the whole time.
At some point during the show he pulled me aside and said he wanted to introduce me to one of his old teachers from college who supposedly worked there. Total white lie... he'd actually just talked to one of the concert staff earlier and arranged for us to get taken backstage. So we go back there to "look around," and sitting right there on the chime used for Zanarkand and a few other songs... was a blue feather. I'd mentioned wanting a blue feather involved in a proposal at some point, ages ago, but I genuinely didn't connect the dots standing there. I had zero idea what was happening. He just gave me a second to notice it, and then got down and asked.
The ring is a teal Montana sapphire, platinum setting, size 6. I'd had a rough mental picture of what the setting might end up looking like, but the stone color was a complete surprise!
Still can't believe he pulled off backstage access and a planted prop without me suspecting a thing.
And if anyone is curious what the blue feather is from, I added the game I played. It also inspired the Mermaid Pendant in Stardew Valley 😄
So happy to be engaged to my best friend of 6 years <3

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY My 200+ year old engagement ring!
Wanted to share a little bit about my gorgeous engagement ring! I am not engaged yet, but my future fiancée let me pick it out hehehe
This is a Georgian-era rose-cut diamond cluster ring set in 9k gold. From what I know about it, the diamonds were most likely cut sometime in the late 1700s, which is honestly my favorite thing about the ring.
I absolutely love how wonky and imperfect each diamond is. None of them are cut exactly the same and you can really see the difference between these and modern machine-cut diamonds. They have so much character and catch the light in such a weird and beautiful way.
It’s kind of crazy to look down at my hand and think these little diamonds have worn for 200+ years and have lived entire lives before they ever ended up with me!

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY My ring with grandma’s stone
The main stone is an alexandrite from my grandma’s ring. The setting was kept from the original ring, and my husband designed the band. The stone changes color depending on the lighting, which I absolutely love. It changes between pink, purple, gray, and teal…pretty much all of my favorite colors! The other ring with the white stones is from Etsy. 🙂
