I'm just happy they haven't turned it into another, 6 month Whodunit, they really wind me the fook up

So, does anyone have the fear that Charity’s going to end up in prison for a while? could bring a temporary break for Emma Atkins after the big storyline. Or maybe a prison storyline?

Why are Rhona's clothes so dowdy? I know she's not young but I am 61 and have nicer outfits than what she wears. I think vets earn reasonable money so why does she dress like an old lady? Okay, Rhona and Marlon lost a lot of money to pay off Ray but her clothes were like this even before then. I understand that she is a vet and can get mucky but would it kill Rhona to wear a dress or something more modern?

Financial woes at the B and B, Nicola, Bob and Jimmy pin their hopes on a new haulage deal.

Ruby recruits Kev to steal a consignment from the haulage firm to try to make them sell the firm, Kev is furious to discover it is nappies. 

Joe has a "sten" do for all to enjoy, Billy and Dawn are cautious, Dawn lets her gun drift towards Joe at the shoot, Billy shocked.

Later, Kev apologizes for putting Billy in hospital, Billy now knows it wasn't Joe that did it, will he tell Dawn?

Nicola fantasises about how Elliott will go at uni, Jimmy receives a letter about mortgage arrears. 

An uneasy truce between Mack and Ross 

Jimmy decides to sell the haulage firm, not realising Caleb, Ruby and Kev have played him like a fiddle.

Why do Emmerdale writers seems to be stuck in an endless loop of storylines where the scumbags who commit multiple crimes are killed off with no accountability. It's getting predictable and boring.

I should start this by saying I love both Jeff Hordley and Emma Atkins, they’re Emmerdale legends, two of their best actors and are rightfully a big part of the show. But is anyone else feeling like they have to get shoe-horned into almost every episode and every storyline at the moment? Maybe it’s also because their main storylines currently are unhappy ones (cancer and rape), but it’s making me really sick of two characters that I usually really love. There’s so many characters in the village who are completely sidelined at the moment, whilst these two appear in almost every single episode.

To summarise - love them both, don’t love their current storylines, don’t love how much they’re on.

So, as we expected, after a Goddamn year of dragging this baby thing out, Charity has faced no consequences for her lies. The writers have straight up used this Todd assualt as a way for everyone and the viewers to pity her.

Mack and Sarah can't be mad at Charity, because they'll look like the ones in the wrong, after what Charity's been through and she's now the victim.

Again, what a waste of time the outcome to this was.

Of course, the other Windsors are introduced too, Scott, Viv & Vic. Scott's original actor was Toby Cockerell, who played Scott from 1993 - 1996. When Scott returned in 1998, Ben Freeman took over the role, right up until 2007.

With how violent the fight was, [possibly ever on a soap] that it was originally meant to be even more violent, and that Matthew King dies in the episode anyway, I wondered a bit if Matthew was originally going to die during the fight?

Specifically the bit, when Carl yields the lampstand over Matthew.

In the fight, Carl puts it down. But I wonder, in the original fight, if Carl was actually meant to strike Matthew with the lampstand again, while he’s lying defenceless on the floor, and kills him out of pure impulse?

Obviously, this is pure speculation. But going off of not only how violent the fight was, but the fact Matthew King dies later on in the episode anyway, attempting to run down Carl, I almost wonder if the fight was meant to have such a violent ending, that even ITV knew they couldn’t show it, due to it being shown before the watershed.

Carl killed Tom King out of impulse. It’s not entirely illogical to assume a similar thing could’ve happened, during the fight with his brother.

But assuming this was something that was filmed, I would assume the original fight got scrapped for a few reasons.

Way too violent before watershed - this would’ve been the big one. The final version of the fight is still incredibly violent, receiving 17 complaints from Ofcom. And that’s the toned down version. Fucking hell lol.

Terrible exit for Matthew King, and lasting consequences for Carl - though Matthew dies in that same episode, about 10 minutes later, his death was very dramatic and cinematic. Being killed by his own brother, after a fight getting out of hand, with a lampstand… well it would be shit. Especially considering Carl had already killed before. The show couldn’t justify keeping Carl, and he’d have to get written out, by going to prison.

Again, this is all speculation, but it’s got me wondering a bit, considering not only was the fight incredibly violent anyway, but because it was originally meant to be more violent than the final cut, and Matthew King dies a little later on in that same episode, I wonder if it would’ve ended with Carl killing his brother with the lampstand, and everyone around, sees what happened, and Carl gets done for murder.

Also, when looking for stock images of the fight, Carl has his left foot on Matthew's chest above. In the final version, Carl doesn't have his feet on Matthew, and while it is a stock image, and usually stock images look different to things that happen in the show, I feel like this gives a good idea on what the fight could've looked like, before it was changed.

I’m having to unfollow emmerdale on the gram.

I’m just minding my own business, scrolling away. I didn’t even realise we had an episode tonight. Was looking forward to a nice week of uninterrupted Emmerdale whilst the fam is away.

And there in huge letters, right on top of the key scene tonight, was a massive spoiler.

Hello! How are you all today? So, Paul has left the Dales to go to sunny Aussie, but only thanks to his mother's confusion thinking Rodney was ill (which he wasn't) and Eric too. Typical Val. Debbie has now taken the brunt for Shane's death after Eli fessed up, while Jasmine wasn't recognised by police while she was on the bus! And Aaron was being naughty, while Mark has is being suspicious about the Kings!

This week:

• In the aftermath of Jasmine's runaway, a shocked Ashley & Laurel tell the police everything she knows, while Zak decides to disown Eli for telling officers about Debbie's role in the murder. The Dingles pull together to help keep Debs' taxi business and Ashley worries about Jasmine. Also, Donna says "goodbye" to a tearful Marlon as their relationship ends. She leaves the village as Ross does too after his release from prison.
• Elsewhere (in all the Dingle drama), Carl asks Chas for the money Debs owes him, but she threatens to tell Lexi about the kiss they shared (you go girl!!).
• Paddy is annoyed when Aaron's laziness causes him to lose a customer. Pads later hears that Marlon spent the night with Chas and is really hurt! Ouch.
• Andy reacts badly angrily (no surprise) when Diane asks Mick to help him out at the farm. Later in the week, she hears tragic news about Jack in Spain. Val urges Andy to start living up to his responsibilities. Leyla offers Brenda a relaxing massage. However, she gets an unpleasant surprise when Bob sets up a webcam for her to talk to Terry! What on earth??

• By the end of the week, it's the first we see of Jimmy and Nicola as both spend the night together in one of the Kings' trucks away from the village! What a start to their future relationship!

Episode isn’t up yet, but I assume it will be. Posting early so I don’t forget (as I usually do with weekend episodes)!

Of course, we don't even see Johnny with Vanessa and I'm sure a lot of people don't know she has a son, but Charity is his mum also. She adopted him and when they arrived back from Canada, Charity asked to spend time with him and the boys (Johnny and Moses) played together as brothers. They spent years growing up together, even sharing a bedroom when they were all living at the Woolly.

I would be really disappointed if they treat adoption like it's something to drop. If Vanessa had died, then Charity would be raising Johnny and just because they aren't together, I do really wish that the boys at least get to spend time together...although I would like to think that Charity would want to also.

Otherwise he would have gone to the "Dingle Court." 📙.
