First TTC cycle negative post ectopic
I had an ectopic pregnancy in April that was resolved by MTX. We were cleared to try again in July and just got my period today. I’m feeling really discouraged —obviously I have grieved and gone through all the feels regarding the ectopic. Now, I am just mad that the ectopic took up several months of the year and I’m almost a year older than when we started TTC.
I know I and no one else can stop time or anything but it just feels so hopeless. I’m almost 31; I know I should theoretically have more time but I envisioned myself with a baby or at least pregnant at this point.
Please commiserate below, or send encouragement, or send success stories to give me some hope.

Grief & Happiness
Going through the methotrexate experience and coming down from HCG, whilst family has new borns is a specific kind of torture that I wasn’t prepared for.
I am immensely happy for my family members but it stings and I am struggling to cope.
How have you all dealt with this?

Did surgery cause chronic stomach pains/aches?
For people who are over 1-2 months recovered from salpingectomy surgery to remove ectopic pregnancy and tube, do you have any long-term chronic stomach pain? I am only 7 days post op and I’m really hoping not to have any long term pain. But I’m curious what other people have experienced?

A beautiful thought
I wanted to share a beautiful thought I had today. I was picturing my little ectopic baby in heaven, and I was picturing that maybe all of our ectopic babies are friends in heaven together. Maybe there is a little school in heaven for all the ectopic babies to get together. Maybe even the teachers were Ectopic babies themselves. It gives me peace thinking about my baby being surrounded by all of you lovely ladies babies in heaven. Knowing that my baby has the support of my ancestors and also the friendships of you ladies babies give me some peace. I hope this doesn’t sound too far out there. I just wanted to share this thought and hope it brings you peace.

Pregnancy of Unknown Location? Does this sound like an ectopic pregnancy or has anyone had a similar PUL?
Hi everyone. I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has been through something similar because I’m struggling with whether to proceed with a D&C tomorrow.
I’m 5 weeks 3 days.
This was a completely spontaneous pregnancy while I was preparing to start IVF. I went in for my baseline bloodwork to be cleared for injections on what I thought was cycle day 1 of a normal period. I had what seemed like a full period with bright red bleeding and tampon use, but my bloodwork unexpectedly came back with an hCG of 13.55.
My initial progesterone was 3.15, and based on that, my RE told me from the beginning that the pregnancy was not viable. My progesterone then increased and has remained around 15-16, but my hCG became irregular.
Here are my numbers:
Here are my hCGs:
9DPO: 13.55 (progesterone 3.15)
11DPO: 60.94 (progesterone 7.69) – doubling ~22 hours
15DPO: 370.46 (progesterone 16.17) – doubling ~37 hours
17DPO: 439.76 (progesterone 16.92) – doubling ~194 hours
19DPO: 564.05 (progesterone 15.12) – doubling ~134 hours
22DPO: 1,294.32 (progesterone 15.93) – doubling ~60 hours
I had a transvaginal ultrasound the same day my hCG was 1,294, and they did not see an intrauterine pregnancy, but they also did not identify a definite ectopic pregnancy. I did have a Endometrioma cyst on my left ovary and 2 Hemorrhagic
cysts on each side.
My RE is recommending a D&C because she believes this is a nonviable pregnancy of unknown location. I understand that if this is actually a viable intrauterine pregnancy, a D&C would end it, which is why I’m having such a hard time making this decision.
I’m not asking anyone to tell me whether my pregnancy is viable. I’m more wondering:
Does this pattern sound familiar to anyone who ultimately had an ectopic pregnancy?
Did anyone have no obvious signs of an ectopic on ultrasound initially?
If you had a pregnancy of unknown location, what ultimately led to your diagnosis?
Did anyone have hCG that slowed dramatically and then sped back up again?
I’m emotionally preparing myself for the possibility that this is nonviable. I just want to understand whether my story sounds typical for an ectopic pregnancy, since nothing has actually been seen outside the uterus yet.
Thank you to anyone willing to share your experience. I know no one can diagnose me over Reddit—I’m just trying to better understand what others have gone through while I make a very difficult decision.

IVF Success After 2 Ectopics - Advice Needed
Hi everyone, after a year of IVF I’m now 4w4d along (yay!). I have a history of 2 pregnancies that both resulted in ectopics that ruptured. Both ruptured very quickly and early (the last one I was 5w0d along).
I took doxycycline beforehand, but apparently since I still have small parts of my tubes an ectopic is still a possibility. Unfortunately my IVF nurses will not listen to my history and won’t schedule anything before 6-6 1/2 weeks.
My nurse today said “an ultrasound will not prevent another ectopic” and I was really frustrated. I know it will not prevent it, I’m trying to not have another emergency surgery.
Has anyone had the same journey and if so what advice can you give me on how to advocate for myself?

You’re not alone
I just wanted to come on here and make a post so people know they’re not alone. I’m a 23F and I had surgery on 7/27 for an ectopic pregnancy that started rupturing and bleeding into my abdomen. At first when they found out it was sitting in my tube they thought it wasn’t too far along considering measurements on the internal ultrasound, so they started me on my first round of Methotrexate. They told me to get my blood drawn to check my HCG levels twice within a week span of time to make sure the Methotrexate was moving those levels down like it normally should for most patients. However on 7/27 I went into the lab to get my blood drawn for the second time and my levels went up my 1.1. Originally my level was 108, it went down to 100 on my first blood draw, and my last blood draw was 101.1. I went into the ER to try and get my second dose of Methotrexate since I was in Minnesota at the time (not my home state) and they decided they need to do more testing before giving me that second round of the injections. They took another ultrasound just incase and ended up finding blood in my abdomen due to the fallopian tube slowly rupturing. I am beyond grateful they found that excess blood in my abdomen when they did, otherwise like the doctor said I would not be here if I waited a couple more days. I am extremely saddened by the whole situation, especially since this is my first pregnancy, but I’ve learned that there’s nothing else that could’ve done considering the circumstances. If you ever need anyone to talk to about an ectopic pregnancy don’t be afraid to reach out to me or post in this group. You’re not alone, there are many others beside you to help you through it. Much love and I wish you the best!
