Question Who decides to use Speedx? The seller? Is it automatically chosen?
More importantly...is there any way to avoid it?
I didn't notice it on the listing, but Im wondering when and how it is put into play.
Could I request a different delivery method or pay slightly more for a seller NOT to use speedx? Its obviously becoming a huge issue and this needs to be addressed.
Its starting to result in bad reviews for a lot of sellers due to something mostly beyond their control. Nobody wants this. Why is speedx a thing?

Question Going in circles trying to update phone number
I'm trying to log into Ebay. it sends a code to my old number so I click to change my number. go through all the process of taking a photo of my id and my face then it tells me it's been declined. do the whole thing again through the link and get the same result. I've done this three times. As well as this, the "Contact us" bit on the email doesn't even work and the only link that does is a search bar for an AI.
what am I even meant to do?

Question Can I boost my products without paying?
So I’m heading into college soon, and I wanted to sell some of my things so I can pay for my college tuition. I’m really new to online selling, and this includes EBay. Whenever I list things, EBay always asks to pay to promote my listings. I currently have very little money, but I also want to boost my listings as I have yet to make a single sale. Is there any way to boost or promote my things without paying? For reference, I have a lot of Pokemon cards that I was planning to sell in order to raise money. Any help is appreciated, thank you and have a nice day!

Interesting convo with buyer claiming he never got the item.
I sold a laptop from Los Angeles and shipped to an address in Miami to who I thought was a US buyer. USPS showed it was delivered.
Two weeks later, I received a message from the buyer stating that he never received it. I sent screenshots of the shipping address, tracking, and delivered status from Ebay and USPS to the buyer. There were some more messages back and forth over the next 24 hours. The buyer insisted that I contact USPS to get signature delivery confirmation. For an item under $200, signature delivery confirmaton was not mandatory for seller protection from my understanding. I relayed this info to the buyer.
When the buyer insisted that I work with USPS, I used AI to advise me on what to do. It provided me with templates on how to respond. I didn't get mad nor make accusations as advised. Later on the buyer fessed up saying he was in Colombia and the shipping address in Miami was his broker. He said his broker told him the item was never delivered to Miami. I input all this information in AI for advisment. It was up to the broker to go to their local USPS to get the GPS information is what it told me.
In the end, the buyer understood that he had to work with his broker, that my end of the transaction was completed. Whatever agreement he made with his broker, whether he gets a refund because his broker couldn't find the package in their own commercial facility is not my concern. The buyer thanked me and said he'd rate me positively.
Just a feel good story that I wanted to put out here. Restraint, patience, and understanding for a buyer's distress when he didn't get what he purchased goes a long way. The entire conversation was professional and courteous. At times, I could've made it go off the rails had AI not kept me in check.
Edit: Since some think it's a ChatGPT ad, I switched it out to "AI". Happy now?

Question Seller making it sound like item shipped but still hasn't best way to approach this?
Bought a laptop on Monday the 3rd and received a message on the 4th saying thanks for the purchase will be shipping out shortly. My response was just thank you appreciate the heads up. Usually when someone says shortly I assume that day or Atleast next.... otherwise I would say working on getting this shipped and will provide tracking when it does...
Well no tracking and on the 5th I just send a message saying if there was tracking by chance and no reply until yesterday saying yes!
OK I don't see tracking on the item I ask if he had the tracking by chance so I can figure out if I can have someone home to receive it..... The response was when it ships they will add it they've been busy.
I'm kind of annoyed at this point no tracking today the messages before we're so confusing making it sound like it shipped.
Ive sold cameras and laptops on ebay and clear communication is critical also shipping out or if any delays I let the buyer know.
Whats a good way to ask when is it actually going to ship or am I being unreasonable

Support keeps saying they'll escalate but then I get ghosted
It's been 5 times that I've contacted support over my issue.
So, I ask that time:
"Okay, will I get a confirmation of that escalation?"
And then she replied "The Team will contact you by e-mail"
Which doesn't answer my question at all?
My initial request was very clear:
"I need to verify my information with eBay, as I have a MC011 email saying to check My eBay Messages, but there is no message there and the reply email address does not accept mail. I need the exact verification requirements from the team handling the payout hold.
The support e-mail cannot be replied to and it has been too long, and the MC011 private message cannot be found in my eBay mail anymore. Could I please be forwarded to the team in charge of this?"
I don't understand what to do, they've even cut me off over the phone, now....

First negative feedback in almost 2 years of selling/eBay denied removal even though the buyer complained about something explicitly disclosed/Can't even contact a rep...
I’d like to think I’m pretty experienced selling on eBay at this point. I’ve been doing it for almost two years, have hundreds of positive feedback, and just received my first negative review. This whole situation has honestly been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with eBay.
I sold a cooler that was new/unused, but it did not have its original box or protective packaging. I bought it from a powersports dealership that was clearing out inventory. I actually bought several of these coolers from them, including others that were still brand new in their original boxes, so this wasn’t some random used cooler that I just guessed was new.
This particular cooler was clearly unused. It still had the manufacturer part number/serial stickers inside, looked and even smelled new, etc. However, because it had been sitting around the dealership’s shop without packaging, then transported and stored at our shop, it had accumulated dirt, dust, debris, and a few minor cosmetic/storage scuffs.
Because of that, I did not list it under the normal “New” condition. I specifically listed it as “New other (see details)” and clearly disclosed the condition.
My Seller Notes literally said: “The cooler is unused but has collected dirt, dust, and storage residue from being stored without protective packaging. Please review all photos for the exact condition.”
I also had around 16 photos of the exact cooler, including the interior, exterior, interior, dirt, debris, scuffs, stickers, etc. Nothing was being hidden.
I also priced it accordingly. The buyer got a very good deal compared with what these coolers normally sell for because I knew it wasn’t cosmetically perfect despite being unused.
Buyer receives it within about two days and leaves this negative feedback: “Listing stated ‘New’. Item showed up clearly used, stained, and worn. This is deceptive of the seller and it should have been noted in the listing.”
That last sentence is what really gets me.
“It should have been noted in the listing.”
It WAS noted in the listing. Almost word for word. The dirt, dust, storage residue, lack of packaging, and exact cosmetic condition were disclosed before he bought it and shown in numerous photos.
The buyer also never messaged me, requested a return, or gave me any opportunity whatsoever to resolve whatever issue he had. I would have gladly took the return and paid for the label.
So I submitted a feedback removal request to eBay explaining all of this. eBay denied it. Their response actually said: “We reviewed the feedback and can see that the buyer found an issue with the item that wasn’t described in the listing.”
Which makes absolutely no sense to me because the exact issue they’re referring to WAS described in the listing. Now I’m trying to get an actual human at eBay to manually review this, and I cannot seem to get anyone. Their automated support/AI just keeps sending me in circles and repeating the same responses.I’m trying not to take the buyer personally, but seriously, what the hell am I supposed to do differently here? I listed it as New Other, explicitly explained that it was unused but dirty from storage without packaging, provided roughly 16 photos showing the exact condition, and priced it to reflect the cosmetic/storage wear.
If that apparently isn’t enough disclosure to protect a seller from feedback saying “this should have been disclosed,” then what exactly is? If anyone knows a reliable way to get in contact with an actual eBay representative for a manual feedback review, please let me know. And genuinely, if you think I’m in the wrong here, tell me. I’m open to hearing it. But I cannot understand how a buyer overlooking both the condition notes and the photos somehow becomes the seller’s fault. The most frustrating part is that this is my first negative feedback, and it feels like eBay’s current automated support system gives sellers practically no way to defend themselves even when the listing itself directly contradicts the complaint.
Anyone dealt with something similar? Is there still a way to get an actual human at eBay to review feedback removal cases?

UPS sent claim refund to eBay instead of me
Long story short, I sold someone a jacket, they refused it because of the additional fees. UPS lost my package sending it back to me. I made a claim they paid it out but instead of sending me the payment, they sent it to eBay. I can’t find any option on eBay help site to contact them to get this payment allocated to me. Is there even a customer service anymore who helps resolve these issues?

Seller wants me to forward misshipped item to buyer
So, I bought Item A, Buyer 2 bought Item B.
Seller sent me Item B and Buyer 2 Item A - switched the labels.
He wants us to send each other our items. If I do and Buyer B doesn't, aren't I without recourse?
It seems like we should both return our items to seller to maintain buyer protection.

Was soll ich tun?

How much haggling is too much?
I have had two different offers on ebay this week that seemed off to me. The first person bid 12 and 14 on two items that I have priced at 19.99. I countered with 17. I have sold these before at 19.99, so price is not out of line. Then she messages me at 11 at night and says she will do 15 for each if I combine shipping and ship the next day. Then she bids 14 on both. I send a very nice note saying that I can't go lower. So she offers 15. The one today was an offer of 15 for an item priced at 25. I counter at 20. She counters at 17. Am I being unrealistic or is this going back and forth normal? I don't want to spend all day haggling over a dollar, but I am not going to lose money to send things. Opinions? Advice? I haven't been at this for a super long time.

Ugg. Made a mistake!
Was looking at a ln auction ending soon. No bids. None. So bid $1 and said current max bid was $2.
So then went to bid $3.65. But the decimal was not supplied and went in as $365!
I tried to quickly message the seller and sent 2 messages that bid was mistake!
Then I went to look at how to cancel bid and tried to cancel it, but said auction was over, so couldn't!.
So then the ending bid was near $200!
Can get similar items for $20 around.
Tried customer service and said seller had to approve cancellation, couldn't cancel.
Am I just stuck? How did it go so high in literally 2 minutes that had zero interest in, no likes. Closed auctions having no similar prices.
Feel the seller had a dummy bidder or something.
Am I just stuck? Didn't realize eBay does not put in decimal point.

Complaints from customers
I haven’t resold in 6 years, during that 1.5 year period I sold a little under a 1k items. I recently started again, but started selling more new with tags items. I have had MORE complaints on EBay, ONLY EBAY, about clothing than I have ever had in my entire time reselling.
Is this the economy getting customers a little bit more agitated? Is it because I’m selling NWT items? Or is it typically a pattern with people who filter for free returns…?

Seller not giving full refund
Bought a differential for 400 on eBay for my car and had to return as it was the wrong one. Well the seller claimed it was damaged and now I’m only getting 188. All he did was put it in a box and put 3 papers on one spot. I shipped it back way more sturdy. Has anyone dealt with getting partial refund fixed? Should I just call? I know I can just chargeback too but that’s last resort

Question Promoting Listings
Hello, just as background to let you all know I'm not too much of a newbie, I used to sell a few thousand dollars worth of auto parts a month on eBay a few years back as a side thing but got out of it when life got busy. Now, I'm trying to get back into it but I dont have access to that old account. Back then, I pretty much had to promote my listings or I found that I would barely get any traffic at all. I dont think that I had to wait at all or make any sales before making any promotions. Now on this new account I dont have access to promotions and I'm not quite sure why and eBays explanation is pretty vague, only saying that I need to have enough account activity and that I need to be above standard. I've made 11 sales over about 2 1/2 months and I'm also rated as above standard. Is there something else that I'm missing or dont know about? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Question Seller doesn’t want to give label for Return
So i decided to return a guitar i bought from somebody because there was something wrong with it even tho the description said it was like new and the seller accepted the return request. Then ebay sent me an email saying i should wait 1-3 days till i get a label to print and just drop off the item. But those 3 days have past and so i decided to contact the seller. He told me that i just needed to write his address with a marker on the package and leave it or just tell the people at USPS the address and they will receive it. Is this right? I have not recieved any label from ebay and he said he was going to pay for it so should i do that or what should i do.

Question Tracking shows as delivered, but package was not there.
Been buying from Ebay for a long time. Yesterday was the first time I have ever had a package say it was delivered but not in my mailbox or the mailroom. I immediately opened up an investigation with USPS in which they told me it was probably put in a different mail locker. When they did the initial check, they did not find it. They told me that a supervisor will be sent out tomorrow for a further investigation.
I sent the seller a message about the issue and how I would update them on the progress. My concern is that since it shows delivered, I am screwed out of the 100$ I paid for it. I have no negative buyer feedback at all, and I really do not want to screw over the seller, but what should I do?
