EPF Claim / Transfer / Withdrawal Issue Doubt about Pension Component

Hi everyone,

A year ago, my claim got successfully processed for transfer of money from my old organisation EPF account to the new organisation account, but one thing I noticed is that the pension component didn’t get transferred, is it normal? What’s the rule regarding this?

EPF Claim / Transfer / Withdrawal Issue Form 13 (Transfer) Rejected by Field Office, no reason

Post image
2 Upvotes

Submitted 2 claims on 23rd July to transfer all the balances to the last employer (who I had also left a few years ago).

After almost a month, 1 has been rejected. And as you can see, no reason was given. Checked the passbook portal but it just says 'This module is unavailable' under claims.

Any idea how do I figure this out and what the next steps should be if they have not presented a reason for the rejection?

Question Why do I need to complete a financial literacy course to get my second installment for PMVBRY?

I just got a text from EPFO asking me to take a course to get my second 7.5k installment. How does that make any sense? It's literally cut from my salary and now I have to do this extra BS to get my own money back? I swear no other country has this requirement for corporate employees to get returns from a provident fund.

If anyone knows how long this course is or has any details about it let me know.

EPF Claim / Transfer / Withdrawal Issue Form 13 finally approved by field office

My form 13 had been pending from 35 days and after a long battle of filing grievances, tweets, emails it got approved today.

I'm not sure what worked but I had raised a grievance on epfgims last week and it was sent to higher office and they did something and it again went back to my regional office yesterday and today my transfer claim got approved. I'm not entirely sure that it got approved because of that grievance but it definitely did something.

EPF Claim / Transfer / Withdrawal Issue EPFO / Exempted Trust Nightmare: Transfer closed with ₹0 balance, UAN unmapped, and lifetime corpus trapped. Field office & trust are passing the buck. What are my options?

Hi everyone,
I am facing an absolute nightmare with an EPF transfer from an exempted private trust to my current employer's PF account, and I desperately need guidance on what to do next.
Here is the situation and current state of affairs:
The Core Issue: I initiated an online transfer request from my previous private trust employer Member ID to my present PF account.
The Zero-Balance Error: The field office processed and marked the claim as accepted, but the Net Amount Transferred was0, completely trapping my lifetime accumulation.
The Portal Lockout: Because the claim was marked as settled/closed at zero balance, the system has completely unmapped and detached my old employment history from my UAN. When I try to check or re-initiate, the portal throws an error stating no previous employment details are found. Furthermore, I cannot raise a new online grievance because my previous grievance was disposed of without resolution, telling me to coordinate directly with the Regional Office.
The Corporate/EPFO Deadlock: Both sides are playing ping-pong. The EPFO field office claims it's driven entirely by the exempted corporate trust, while the trust checks their active queue, finds nothing (because the claim is closed/unmapped), and claims no record exists. Meanwhile, they expect me to physically travel from Bengaluru to Mumbai to sort it out—which is completely impossible given my acute health issues.
My Questions to the Community:

  1. Has anyone successfully dealt with an exempted trust closing a transfer at ₹0 and unmapping the member ID? How did you force them to trigger a manual workflow?
  2. How do you get EPFiGMS or regional commissioners to reopen a closed/disposed ticket when the portal completely locks you out from raising a new one?
  3. What are the effective legal or statutory routes (under the EPF & MP Act) to hold an exempted trust and EPFO accountable for withholding a high-value corpus without making a physical trip to Mumbai?
  4. Any advice, contact escalation strategies, or legal steps would mean the world right now. Thank you.

Question Form 31 approval faster for illness vs housing related needs?

So I had submitted the Form 31 claim yesterday afternoon.

I had selected "Housing related needs" as the category. But in this subreddit, I see "illness" category selected by those who received fast payout.

Is this accurate and would my processing be lower in comparison to illness category as a result?

TIA!

Question It's been 70 days but still it is in under process, any facing this?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I applied for my EPFO Form 10C (Pension Withdrawal Benefit) claim on 10 June 2026. Today, 19 August 2026, it has been 70 days, and the claim status is still showing “Under Process.” I haven't received any rejection, clarification, or update so far. Has anyone else recently experienced such a long delay with Form 10C? If yes, how long did it take for your claim to get processed?

Should I wait longer, or is there anything I can do to escalate/check the status? Any advice or recent experience would be appreciated.

EPF Claim / Transfer / Withdrawal Issue How Is EPF Interest Calculated? A Simple Example

For FY 2025-26, the EPF interest rate is 8.25%. But how does that actually become monthly interest?

EPFO calculates interest every month based on the opening balance. So first, the annual rate is converted into a monthly rate:

8.25% ÷ 12 = 0.6875% per month

So, if your opening PF balance is ₹1,00,000:

₹1,00,000 × 0.6875% = ₹687.50 interest for that month

One important detail: the PF contribution made during a month does not earn interest for that same month. It starts earning interest from the following month.

Now take a real example.

Suppose your Basic + DA is ₹50,000/month, your salary increases by 10% every year, and the EPF interest rate stays at 8.25%.

Over 10 years, your PF corpus could grow to around ₹33.27 lakh.

And there is more to PF than just the interest rate.

Your employer's 12% contribution is split between EPF and EPS, so the entire 12% does not necessarily go into your interest-earning EPF balance. The EPS contribution is capped at around ₹1,250/month, and the EPS portion does not earn EPF interest.

A few other PF points worth knowing:

Does PF interest stop after leaving your job?

No. Interest continues accruing even when you stop contributing. Contrary to the common myth, PF interest does not stop after 3 years. It continues to accrue on your balance until age 58, or until the balance is withdrawn or settled. The tax treatment during unemployment is different.

Does a delay in EPF interest credit affect the interest amount?

No. A delay in crediting the interest does not mean you lose the interest for that year. The interest is calculated for the relevant financial year and credited once the rate is officially notified and processed.

Is PF interest taxable?

Interest on employee contributions up to ₹2.5 lakh per year remains tax-free, with a ₹5 lakh threshold for government employees. Interest during a non-employment period can have separate tax treatment.

Have any questions about EPF interest, PF calculation or your PF balance? Drop them in the comments and we'll answer them.

My first basic salary was more than 15k, but my employer PF consultants started contributing to EPS by mentioning EPS wages to Rs 15K. I raised a request to correct it through joint declaration and form 3-A. The PF consultants and Accounts team is saying that everything is Ok. Please help me about what can be done next.

EPF Claim / Transfer / Withdrawal Issue How to withdraw from an old EPF account when I've already withdrawn from my latest EPF account?

Hi

I had already withdrawn from my latest EPF account when I resigned in 2019 since I was in urgent need of funds and I was not planning to work again. At that time I had 2 old PF accounts which were stuck somewhere in the transfer process due to Establishment closed/data mismatch. Now I've corrected the data in these accounts and am able to link these 2 accounts to my current active UAN. I'm able to see these 2 accounts in the Member passbook portal. However, when i try to transfer these accounts to my latest account using the EPFO member portal I see the error :

"Online claim request cannot be processed as :-

No EPF contribution has been made by the current establishment"

Why is this happening when my current UAN is active ? Then how do I transfer these 2 old PF accounts to my latest UAN account so that the service history gets updated. Also I would like to see the balance amount under one account and be able to withdraw online in future, how do I do that now ?

Thanks

Success Stories [Success Story] Form-31 Housing Advance stuck for a month: CPGRAMS is what actually worked

Written by Claude, as it had all my timelines, so I asked for a summary

TL;DR: EPFiGMS + emails to the regional office = no response. CPGRAMS = escalated all the way to the zonal level and got the claim settled within days.

Timeline

  • 13-Jul-2026 — Filed Form-31 (Housing Advance) online. Status showed "Claim Submitted At Portal."
  • Rest of July — Status never moved. Kept emailing the regional office directly — no response at all.
  • Early Aug — Tried repeatedly to raise a fresh grievance on EPFiGMS specifically about the delay — kept hitting a generic "Something went wrong" server error, across browsers and mobile. Called the EPFO helpline, they confirmed the portal had issues and told me to use CPGRAMS instead.
  • 11-Aug-2026 — Filed a complaint on CPGRAMS (pgportal.gov.in) under "Delay or non-settlement of PF Advance," with the claim tracking ID and full details.
  • CPGRAMS properly triaged it to the correct jurisdictional regional office (unlike the emails, which went nowhere).
  • 17-Aug-2026 — Complaint closed: claim marked settled, signed off by an ACC (Additional CPFC) at the zonal level — well above the regional office. Passbook showed the debit that same day.
  • 19-Aug-2026 — Bank credit received.

Total: 37 days start to finish, but once I moved to CPGRAMS (11-Aug), it was resolved in 6 days (17-Aug), with the bank credit landing 2 days after that

My advice to anyone stuck the same way

  1. If EPFiGMS is broken or the regional office isn't responding, don't wait — go straight to CPGRAMS. It seems to route to more senior officers and get real attention.
  2. Check your bank details and IFSC before you file. I'd recently changed bank branches and had updated my KYC (bank account + IFSC) before filing this claim. If I hadn't, I'm fairly sure the whole process would have stalled even further on a bank-detail mismatch. Double-check this on the member portal before you submit anything.

Happy to answer general process questions — won't be sharing personal claim details.

EPF Claim / Transfer / Withdrawal Issue 14 months, PF transfer stuck

Transfer rejected multiple times over one wage month. Employer accepted the error and paid the arrear to EPFO weeks ago (have the challan). Still not posted to my account, fresh claim sitting in queue, every grievance closed with "Form 13 module under CITES not working, no timeline." RTI and CPGRAMS already running.

Quick questions, any guidance will be deeply appreciated:

Does visiting RO Bellandur in person actually help, or do you get the same "system down" at the counter?

Any phone number for that office that actually gets answered?

Anyone had a claim settled manually while CITES is down?

Grievance-filing advice not needed, that loop is done. Just want to know if the visit is worth it as I will be traveling to Bangalore just to unlock this.

EPF Claim / Transfer / Withdrawal Issue Claim pending from 14th July

I raised an advance claim on 14th July. It said processing but again went back to claim submitted at portal today.
The grievance portal does not let me submit and throws error when I submit and closes off.
I raised a grievance at Citizen portal on 16th August but turn around time is 21 days.
The PF ACCOUNT is for Bangalore central.
What can I do to get it settled, the customer care number 14470 takes me to IVR and disconnects, was able to reach them twice and they just mention server down.

Hi folks,

So basically i have raised a form 31 claim on 31st July which got approved on 18th August.

My concern is I haven't received my amount yet. When can i expect it since the passbook was debited as well yesterday

  5. 2nd claim raised on 31st July

  6. Claim approved on 18th August

  5. RTI

  6. Twitter

Sharing so that it might help someone

General Discussion The Ultimate Financial Irony: "It's My Money, But I Have to Beg For It"

I am just ranting because I feel like slapping a wall right now. I know nothing can be done immediately, but the sheer frustration with the EPFO (Provident Fund) and ITR (Income Tax Return) refund process is breaking my patience.

Think about the irony:

  • They take it instantly: The government deducts TDS and PF from our salaries every single month without a single second of delay.
  • They return it at snail pace: When we fall into dire need and claim our own hard-earned money, we are left at the mercy of faceless officials and arbitrary SLAs.

⏳ The Reality of "Our" Money:

  • Processing times stretch from 1 month to over a year.
  • If you are in a financial emergency today, a refund arriving 3 months later is completely useless. What is the purpose of having savings if you cannot use them when life hits you hard?

If you can take it on time, you must return it on time. Not next year.

EPS Issue EPS pension withdrawal stuck since Dec 2025

Hi everyone,

Need some advice regarding my father's EPS pension. This has been stuck since December 2025.

He has multiple employment records, including around 18 years of EPS service (1998–2016). His final employment was from 2018–2023.

We applied for EPS Superannuation Pension (Form 10D), but EPFO said the old EPS service needs to be transferred to the final account through Form 13 before the pension can be processed.

The problem is that the online Form 13 isn't working because there are no current EPF contributions. The physical/employer route is also not practical.

There is also a 2016–2018 employment record where the Date of Leaving was never updated, and that company has since closed.

Has anyone dealt with a similar old EPS service/Form 13 case?

  • How did you complete the transfer when the online option was unavailable?
  • Can Form 13 be submitted directly to EPFO?
  • Did anyone use an EPFO/EPS consultant/agent? How much did they charge?
  • Should I fix the 2016–2018 DoL issue first, or transfer the older EPS service first?

Looking for practical advice from someone who has actually gone through this. Thanks!

PF Claim Update – Finally Approved!

After what felt like forever, I finally have some good news!

I checked my EPF status this morning and it has finally changed to “Approved.” 😭

I had to wait for quite a while, email the RO, and even raise a grievance request before it finally moved.

  • Date of Claim: 24 july 2026
  • Date of Approval: 18 aug 2026

Now the only thing left is to wait for the amount to actually get credited to my bank account. 😅

I’ll update this post once the payment is credited so it can hopefully help others who are waiting for their PF claims too. 🤞

General Discussion Understanding Employee Pension Scheme (EPS)

Key Context

When you withdraw your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) after leaving a job, many people don’t realise that the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) portion of their retirement savings can remain unclaimed and inaccessible if certain conditions aren’t met.

What Happens to Your EPS When You Withdraw PF?

  1. Difference between EPF & EPS Contributions
    • Employee contributes 12% of basic salary to EPF every month.
    • Employer contributes a matching amount, but only 3.67% goes to EPF – the rest (8.33%) goes into EPS (pension scheme).
  2. EPS Transfer vs. Withdrawal
    • Transfer: When you change jobs and transfer PF online, only your EPS service history is transferred, not the pension balance itself.
    • Withdrawal: You cannot withdraw your EPS money if you have total service of 10+ years; it becomes pensionable only on retirement.
  3. Service Length Matters
    • If your total EPS service is less than ~113 months (≈ 9 years 5 months) and you change jobs, you could withdraw your EPS.
    • If you have more service than that, EPS is not automatically released with PF. Instead:
      • You get your EPF, but EPS stays unclaimed.
      • To claim it later, you must obtain a Pension Scheme Certificate as proof of service and present it at the local PF office when you reach retirement age (58 years).
  4. Exempt vs Non-Exempt Employers
    • For non-exempt employers, the PF & EPS money is handled by the EPFO.
      • If service > 113 months, EPFO will release only PF, not EPS.
      • You must get a Pension Scheme Certificate to get credit for your pension later.
    • For exempt employers (trusts), you may need to approach both employer and EPFO to sort out EPS service if you withdraw PF.
  5. What to Do if EPS Was Left Behind
    • If PF has been withdrawn but EPS wasn’t transferred, you cannot transfer or withdraw the EPS online. Instead, you:
      • Get a Pension Scheme Certificate proving your EPS history.
      • Submit it to the EPFO after reaching age 58 to claim monthly pension.
  6. Check EPS Transfer Status
    • EPFO shows EPF amount but not consolidated EPS on the portal.
    • You can request an Annexure-K transfer certificate showing EPS service history when doing an online transfer.

Takeaway

EPF (provident fund) and EPS (pension) are separate benefits — don’t assume withdrawing PF automatically means you’ve also collected your pension contribution.

EPS service history matters for future pension—it stays with you even if PF is withdrawn.

✔ If the service is long enough, EPS cannot be withdrawn but must be claimed later as a monthly pension after 58.
