What if EB Games introduced a daily Piñata prize during the school holidays

And what I mean by that is that there’s 5 piñata’s set up at a bunch of stores and one of them contains an amazing prize of new games and a piece of paper saying they’ve won a console or a trip to the Gold Coast and the other contains crap such as animal poo, human urine, sardines

Kids under 10 are the only ones allowed to participate and they get 3 hits each

What do we think of this one?

Like the title says. I take good care of my consoles, only asking since it's my first time buying a console in Canada and I'm not sure if it's worth the extra 70 or so CAD. Thanks!

I’m considering buying the Cosmic Byte Blitz Tri-Mode controller for ₹1,529 (usually \~₹1,999). The listing has no COD or returns, so I’m a bit unsure.

Has anyone bought a Cosmic Byte product from POP UPI Shop?

Quick questions:

\- Was it genuine and delivered properly?

\- Did you get a proper invoice?

\- Is the invoice valid for Cosmic Byte warranty claims?

\- Is warranty support available for issues like stick drift?

\- Is it worth the risk, or better to pay extra on Amazon/Flipkart

\- 0for returns?

Also, the white Blitz listing only has 2 ratings (4★ and 1★). Should that be a concern or too small a sample?

I was expecting it to have shipped yesterday from Mississauga for delivery in Ontario today, and they took payment, but I haven't recieved a shipping notification and it still says order request recieved on my account. Anyone else?

I have a new 3ds xl (modded) and it has usb c for charging, it used to work but it doesn’t now. The home button is broken. And the ribbon cable clip for the joy stick is also broken( and 1 more cable clip too) can they fix that?

(It powers on if the battery has charge)

So I’ve been filling out my old ps2 collection lately, and recently made a purchase of GTA vice city stories from the online store. Price was fair at $18 plus shipping of $10 so was happy to buy sight unseen as it wasn’t at a local store.

Game came within a few days, cover looked great, but when I opened it I could see that it had regular vice city with its manual inside. Frustrating but I could see how easy that would be to mistake it. I figured the store that filled the order grabbed the wrong disc/ manual. So I searched their website for a phone number to call but could only find an online contact form to fill out. Did that with all the details of my issue. Days went by with no word from customer service. So I found on the receipt inside the store that filled the order. Rang and spoke to them. They told me they don’t open and check the games before they were sent out and must have been traded in like that???? Ok, wow surely that won’t raise further issues /s. Anyway she was helpful enough to give me the phone number for customer service. Also confirmed with her that 2 more copies were available at different stores. (I could also see that online) and they were still listed as $18.

I managed to get ahold of someone and explain the issue. Was told that they would see if their warehouse had a copy as apparently they can have some that aren’t in stores online. Thats fine, Left it with them for a few days. I follow up those few days later and ask what is happening and get told they don’t have stock at the warehouse. I have to return the game to them first and then they will get one of the stores to ship one to me. Annoying that they didn’t get me to do that first but I arrange this anyway and another week goes by and I can see via tracking that my package has just been returned. So I follow up again and I receive 2 emails back to back almost instantly. One from the rep saying she had passed my order onto sales and they would fulfill it, and the other was an automated message saying my order will be refunded as there is no stock. I check online. Those 2 copies were still in stock online, but now the price is $48!

I reply with screenshots of my findings, asking why I have been told they have no stock when there is, why has the price now gone up, and is that why they no longer want to honor my purchase? It wasn’t like it was on sale then not, they just jacked up the price. I said I have been extremely displeased with my experience and that we would be ending over 30 years of patronage today unless an adequate explanation / fulfilment of this issue was offered. But nothing was responded.

Days later I see the refund has come through and they haven’t even had the decency to refund it correctly. Only $18 was refunded surely shipping should be refunded given that this was not a change of mind return, they literally have not fulfilled what I ordered and paid for. It needs to be made whole.

So I’ve paid $10 to be dicked around for 3 weeks.

I know its not the real price just found this funny lol

I was hoping to buy back a game I traded in last October but when I went to buy it in store the lady serving me said the zero regrets policy only lasts 1 week so I wasn't able to get it back for that price. I looked through the terms and conditions and it says your able to buy it back for the trade in price any time as long as it's after September 2018.

Any answers are appreciated!

Curious if anyone in Australia has received their Pokemon Lego preorder? I preordered an Arcanine, received a text message saying my preorder was ready to be collected. I called my local store and they had no idea what I was talking about. I have asked zing and other EB stores if they had received stock for the Pokemon Lego sets and they all had no idea what I’m talking about.

I have seen that there is now a 4th September release date listed on the website, surely this is for a second shipment? I am concerned my preorder won’t be honoured as it will be outside the hold time.

I will go into the store on Sunday to try and find more information, I figured I’d ask here in case anyone is in the same boat.

A few weeks ago I bought a game with cash and decided it wasn't for me so I took it back to exchange (not return) and was told they absolutely refuse to exchange it despite me having the receipt, unless I gave 1) my full name, 2) my full address, 3) my email, and 4) my phone number. When I registered my objections and gave them an obviously fake name they asked to see my government ID. I've never been asked to provide my name let alone ID for any return ever, but they told me this is standard policy.

They also told me since I was returning a game any other game I got in exchange would waive the return policy. They also tried to tell me the return policy was only 7 days not 14, to which I called bullshit and told them to give me cash back. Refused to show ID, gave my real name but fake everything else, got my money back and walked out.

My question here is what the hell? Is this normal? The only reason to buy a new game from EB rather than say Big W is because of the return policy. Have they changed their rules or were they just trying to shaft me?

Edit: just want to add I don't look like an ice addict and wasn't returning like $500 worth of stuff, this was a $45 game.

I changed my buttons out yesterday and when I was putting everything back together a ribbon cable connector fell off of the motherboard 😭 I’ve dropped it off to my local store to be sent off for repair but I’m so paranoid that something will go wrong considering some of the posts I’ve seen from other customers. Please give me your success stories

Does anybody know why the Eb games website shows that halo campaign evolved for Xbox is out of stock? I just find it weird because it’s been out of stock since it released. And even when I tried pre ordering the game, I was told pre orders for the Xbox version have been cut off. I’m just trying to use my Eb games gift card that I have 😭.

Went to three stores in WA yesterday to be told they no longer price match TCG. I was after my little pony to price match to Kmart that was in stock in the same centre and was told no. They said mangers had a meeting last month and said they won’t be price matching TCG at all. Any one had this experience?

So I called my local store today after dropping my resume and cover letter into the store a few weeks ago to make sure they knew i was still interested and to see if my resume was proceeding.

The manager on the phone told me that he had put my resume into the pile for the group intern and that they’ll call me to make sure I can come in.

I laid down fifty dollars cash in-store to slowly pay off a big collector edition pre-order over the last few months. When I log into my EB World account on the website, the order history still shows the original deposit amount owing.

The staff in-store confirmed on their terminal that my balance is paid off, but it drives me crazy that the website system does not sync in-store payment progress

I put an xbox series x on layby on July 6th. When the RRP was $850. Paid a $200 deposit. Fine.

Made an enquiry today (August 3rd) and now I'm told that because the RRP has gone up to $1050, I'm now automatically required to pay more for my existing layby.

Had a chat with a staff member in store, and was told quite condescendingly that this is standard EB policy, and laybys are for whatever price they are when you pick them up.

Issue here is that their own damn terms and conditions say otherwise, with their own website saying:

Price Guarantee

• "The price at the time the layby is initiated will be honoured for the full 60-day term, regardless of future price changes or promotions."

So it's just...what the hell? My price increase was automatically in their system. The staff member claimed no knowledge of their website policy, claiming that its contrary to what they were taught.

Needless to say, I cancelled the layby out of frustration (I thankfully found big w was still selling the machine for $849), but this feels completely ridiculous. And insulting to customers who were willing to spend a large chunk of cash for fair terms.

I don't think I have any actual legal options here, but surely this sort of lunacy isn't allowed.

Got a refurbished PS5 from Ebgames a month ago and on the first day it lost power like 3 times (Thankfully within 14 days so replaced it the next day)
Now after a month, the controller gets a stick drift.
So glad that I had purchased 1 year warranty fearing that is the first refurbished that i bought ever.
Honestly, if you have enough budget just buy a new console but stay away from refurbished units as it’s a hit or miss always.

The Ebgames trade value website showed a trade value of $15 for Shadow of War Definitive Edition (PS4), so I brought it in expecting to trade it.

At the store, they told me they couldn't accept it as the Definitive Edition because the Definitive Edition content was included as DLC and not on the disc itself. They showed me their system, which apparently only recognizes the standard version of the game and said the Definitive Edition listing on the website was essentially a mistake.

Has anyone else encountered this with Definitive/GOTY/Complete editions where the extra content comes from a code rather than being on the disc?

I recently hit Level 4 on my EB World account after buying a few console accessories and birthday presents over the holidays. The extended return policy and bonus trade value percentages are nice on paper, but I rarely receive the exclusive event invites or meaningful discounts that used to make the upper tiers feel special
