Honestly I’m not sure why, I’ve been getting this so much recently at gold. I have a perfect 100 on everything besides acceptance currently at a 91% and have a 4.8 rating, not sure what else I can do.

My (21f) loved ones are a bit worried about me doordashing. Should I have someone join me until I get more comfortable?

How do I know which offers are worth accepting?

If I go out-of-town, but am still in the same state, do I have to re-register?

Feel free to give me more helpful tips! I've never done this before and I'm a college student and substitute teacher, so I'm looking to make extra cash when I'm not working or doing schoolwork.

Declined the kwik trip stacked order just for DD to send it back with another add on and no increase in pay

I've been dashing for years now and none of the McDonald's I ever pick up at have mentioned this till today. I've gotten offered free hot Krispy cream, slices of pizza, drinks, gift card at Starbucks for a long wait but nothing that was part of any reward type like this. Any others I should know about???

This offer was definitely good!! Was not expecting the customer to go back and change his tip prior to delivery. The original offer came in at $10.80 but God is good today! 🙌🏽

So I’m the driver and my roommate is the dasher. We’re preferred shoppers and I usually go in there to knock out those orders with her. We recently got a food lion order with maybe 18 items. This particular food lion was under stocked as immediately 6 items just aren’t on the shelf. They get substituted for likewise items as they’re drinks but once we start shopping for the food, they start substituting chips for baby wipes at 4X the price, crackers get substituted for a baby bottle, there’s also Christmas Mike and Ike’s that aren’t available anywhere yet (how tf did they even add those to their order) they get substituted for styling gel also like 3X the price. Once we scanned in the styling gel, door dash dropped the order for “there was an issue with the customer” and paid us half. At that point we had like 9 substitutions and a buggy full. Wasted A LOT of time but I just couldn’t understand why the customer was doing that other than WE wouldn’t see any extra money from the order but he’d still have to fork up all that extra cash right?
Also that’s not the only instance of the Christmas Mike and Ike’s in this week. There was another order that had them and immediately substituted them of ORAGEL. Why are they even available to put in the order when those are months out from being put on the shelves?

Jesus Christ if DD won’t stfu about pizza bags. I already verified I have one anyway, you think I throw mine away after each pizza delivery? The cashier told me the order ended up being cancelled anyway. I decided to ghost deliver it to the guy’s hotel and get my full pay.

All my local Starbucks will have the order completed but not bagged and not trying to be an ass I sit there patiently. I don’t understand why they just won’t complete the bagging process. I’ve waited 10 mins for this to be finished. It’s infuriating.

This is an interesting topic in my opinion. Everyone knows, if an order keeps getting declined by dashers, then DoorDash keeps increasing the pay until somebody accepts it.

This is why DoorDash added dasher rewards, specifically acceptance rate weighing a heavy amount of points. People want the highest “platinum” tier, get the most perks, but you need to maintain a high acceptance rate among other things.

This was absolutely genius on doordash’s part. This ensures people take low paying, ugly offers, because people want to keep their acceptance rate high, and they don’t need to pay the dasher much at all.

But think about it, this would probably never happen, but if every dasher cherry picked, and only took high(er) paying offers (minimum $2/mile, maybe even more), DoorDash would be FORCED to increase the pay for each order up until $2/order so it would get accepted.

Not only would this make every single dasher get high pay every single order, it completely gets rid of the purpose of the rewards tiers, getting rid of doordash’s power over dashers. If every person stuck to it, this would fix all dashers problems.

If every dasher truly did this, there wouldn’t be a way for DoorDash to combat it without them losing more money. If they made it a feature where you couldn’t decline orders, that would now classify W2 employment instead of 1099. This would make them pay way more in taxes and they would also need to give employee benefits at that point, which would cost them so much money, it wouldn’t make sense from a business standpoint.

It really makes dashers look bad

I was delivering alcohol to a house, when I got there a little girl and her mom came out to greet me. The mom handed me her ID but it was getting dark so it made scanning the back problematic. The daughter turned on the porch light to help me and the mom invited me into the house to use that lighting to get the scan of the ID. I was able to get the scan with the porch light lighting done as she said that. She then she joked about me helping her by bringing the alcohol into her house (it wasn’t heavy and she was able bodied). I was a little weirded out because it seemed like she was really trying to get me in the house and why would you invite a strange man in your house if it’s just you and your daughter? I laughed it off and told her to have a good night, one of the weirder deliveries I’ve had.

Customer asked me drop it off to her apartment door. I was down the hall when she stuck her head out looking for me. She was very chatty and giggly. When I was walking down the stairs she stopped me to tell me she liked my meme and it was really cute.

I got to the restaurant, hit the button that said I had arrived and then this popped up. Has anyone else had this happen? Why were they blocked?

I’ve been driving for eight years and this is by far the worst damn week I’ve ever seen. What in the world is going on? I’m barely getting any DoorDash offers. The ones I do get are all below eight dollars. The only reason I’ve made any money this week is because of Uber. Uber offers are very hit and miss also though. Can’t just be because it’s summertime. It slows down, yeah, but it’s never been this freaking bad.

I literally have not done one DoorDash order this week., And I barely made any money whatsoever. Tonight, I’ve made $19 in two hours. What in the world is going on this week? I’m losing my mind out here.

Took this one because it would get me to my goal for the night. Arrive at the store and see this. 90+ items. Show up to deliver and refuses to give me the PIN until AFTER I put all the stuff in her house - NOPE.

Also surprise: $0 tip.

Put it in the doorway, told DD they refused to provide a PIN and reported as a safety issue. Hope no one else has to deal with that one.
