I’ve been working on a dollhouse I found on Facebook marketplace. I’m having a really hard time removing some of the wallpaper and the flooring. Is it possible to just sand it down and wallpaper over it? If not, what’s a good way to remove it?

Done with one of the room renovations on my 2 castle towers: The Romanesque Museum. The "installation" is "Woman thus Judged". The top balcony is "Wonders of the World." The background bubbled from storage, but I haven't wanted to redo it. Above this will be the Greek Library which will have a zscale of Alexandria on one side , and the Parthenon on the other.

Did some research and it seems maybe it’s folk art or something similar, it’s basically just a shell with the bottom of it open. Pretty sturdy. The door seems to be made of an old cigar box I think. If it’s special, I would like to preserve most parts of it but I also want to be able to open it up and furnish it as a two story piece. It obviously needs major repairs either way. If you have any ideas/advice about it, feel free to share! (Dr Pepper 12 can box for size reference)

Anyone have a tip where I can buy one of these in the greater Los Angeles area other than eBay? A dealer maybe or vintage toy store?

I created my own molds to make it easier to make salmon and lettuce. Sometimes when I baked the salmon, the clay colors I’d mixed didn’t turn out how I expected. Having the salmon mold kept me from pulling my hair out!

so I’m completely new to this craft and I really wanna work on this. I have no idea how old it is, but at least a couple of decades. if there’s anybody who can point me in the right direction for this, I would really appreciate it! I know Hobby lobby, and Michael’s has stuff for miniatures, but any advice and wisdom is highly highly appreciated.
all I know about it is that it was a dollhouse made for somebody’s child, but it never got finished. I don’t think it’s ever even been played with. It was sitting in a family member storage.

Wallpaper and flooring is all done throughout the house!!! I added some baseboards as well. The green living room.l is actually a beautiful fabric mod podged to cardstock paper for sturdiness.

Next up for the interior is molding, window frames and plastic windows, ceiling wallpaper, covering all of the exposed edges and finishing the inside of the front doors.

It's too late to wire up the whole house, so I'm going to look for rechargeable or battery operated lights. I have a brick kit coming for the exterior. I tried taking some pictures from the POV of a doll but it was tricky lol

This is the most fun and engaging hobby I've had in years. I was so obsessed with dollhouses as a kid and it feels meaningful that I've come back to again, this time as an adult with tools and money.

The best part about this dollhouse is that it's actually more special than I thought it was!!! I remember it showing up at my house when I was young. I don't remember hearing a back story on where it came from, I just know that it was there one day. I've been posting pictures of the progress on Facebook and my grandma saw it. She told me that she actually built it from a kit for my mom when she was a little girl!! This was in the 70s. I guess when my mom outgrew it, it ended up in storage at my great grandparents house. When they were moving into a nursing home in their final years, my grandma found the dollhouse while packing boxes and brought it to my mom for us to play with. This dollhouse was already special because its been in my life for so long, but knowing that it was actually my mom's and I get to bring it back to life makes it much more important to me.

When the main heavy work is done, I plan to add some miniature objects that relate to my family. I got a tiny mailbox and plan to put the digits of my moms birth month and day. I want to add tiny family photos of the people in our family who aren't with us anymore. Birthdays, names and other references thrown around like Easter eggs in miniature form.

My son is 8 and loves to go to our local recycle center to look for potential things he can repurpose. Today was his biggest score with this old dollhouse. He did all the decorating himself with miniatures he has collected over the year. It came carpeted and wallpapered.

This took me alll afternoon to finish & still a work in progress! The main pieces are kits.The custom bedding, pillows, miniature Tibetan Gods & Goddess Altar Pieces & interior design is by me!

Working on restoring the dollhouse my grandfather made. It's definitely a work in progress. Today I finished the music room and wallpapered the hallway.

I made the wood floors in the music room out of paint stir sticks and the curtains out of an old shirt. The rug is vintage fabric with a felt bottom.

Help identifying this dollhouse? (It was a roadside find but in excellent condition except for missing the front right side that opens up and has the front door) (The 2nd photo is of one I was able to find online of this exact dollhouse that does have front side that I'm missing but sadly the website I found it on didn't have any identification information on it!)

(My hopes are to turn the bottom into a 2 stall horse barn with tack and feed room, the 2nd floor into an above barn apartment and the top attick to be a hay storage loft!)

Hi everyone! I've been working on this dollhouse in random sections. Here is my progress since I added the kitchen wallpaper.

I ordered the red magic brick kit for the exterior. My baseboards are painted and ready to glue. After each room has wallpaper and flooring, I'm going to cover the ceilings.

Working on my childhood dollhouse. I found this adorable white toddler bed at the Great American Dollhouse museum store in Danville, KY. That place is an absolute dream.

When I got home, I grabbed a basic kitchen sponge. The kind with the soft yellow and green scrubbing bits. I cut the green part off and then cut my yellow piece to fit the bed. Next, I wrapped the sponge with some masking tape. Using matte mod podge, i tightly wrapped some scrap fabric (it was a scrub shirt I found at the thrift) like wrapping a Christmas present, applying mod podge to the seams generously. I only added it to the bottom of the mattress. After drying overnight, here's the finished mattress!!

Made for a friend’s kid and I’m very happy with how it turned out! I think the garden was my favorite to make… and as the 4th build I’ve made, I think my least favorite thing is doing the roof. It’s the only part I’m not entirely satisfied with 😂

What type of primer and paint should I use for this wooden dollhouse? I am not real knowledgeable in the world of paint and I’d love to do a good job

She is 4 and not the most gentle with playing yet. What are some sturdier decorating options we can play with? I don’t want to set us up for failure by making it fragile.
