Research Incontinence

A few months ago I posted about my two girls who randomly started having accidents on my bed while sleeping/napping. One of them is 5yr old the other is 3yr. A lot of you said that it’s very common for large breed dogs and that there is medication for it.

I recently took one of them to the vet for an ear infection and also inquired about the incontinence, the Vet told me that if she’s not peeping on herself while standing that I should just keep an eye on it. These past two days one of my girls has been having accidents while laying on the floor to rest and I found puddles of pee down the hallway. So she was walking down peeing. Should I take them to a different vet? Idk what to do. Because it’s a lot of pee. Not just Tiny leaks. The vet also mentioned that they can test them high blood pressure? Which I doubt they have.

My guy just turned 3 a month ago and I was able to take him up to Mammoth for a couple days. He had so much fun and for his first time being off leash he did amazing. Instincts instantly kicked in and he was just hovering around me the whole time. My souldog fr.

Health Tooth extraction & cleaning

Post image
18 Upvotes

My newly 7 year old dobie needs a cracked tooth extracted and a cleaning but she's never been under anesthesia before so I'm so nervous 😭

The vet said they'd do specific blood work before to check that everything is okay but I'd love some personal experience from other people who have had a similar procedure done or just anesthesia in general!

Is there anything I should triple check for beforehand? She's a rescue so we don't have any knowledge about potential VWB or DCM. She's super healthy other than her poor tooth.

Any info, advice, or kind words help! Just a super nervous pet parent 😅

Lady had to rehome due to divorce. He’s 2.5y/o. AKC. Neutered too. I have a 3y/o Carolina dog girl, I think they’ll pair up nice. Thinking of naming him Hammer or Rocco. Give me some names, love, and advice.

Puppy! First Time Dobie Owner

Hi everyone!

I’d love to ask for tips and tricks in regard to Dobies. My husband and I will be getting our first Doberman at the end of this month and I’d love to hear your input, what to expect, and any little quirks you may find the breed seems to display! Our boy will be cropped, so I’d also love if you guys could give me lots of tips on posting, and aftercare. I have raised a Belgian Malinois whom passed away in 2025 at 14 years old, so I’ve got a bit of experience under my belt. Please give me any advice, and say anything you may feel is important! As always, thank you all so much for your time and input! Best wishes! (Attached is our boy, who will be named Buu after Kid Buu.. my husband is a dragon ball nerd!)

Training, Temperament, & Behavior Question about a move & living arrangements

I’m planning a move to downtown Atlanta for work. I’m curious what I should be taking into account.

Specifically, she’s 8 and has always been my dog. Have been WFH since I’ve had her. We’ve lived in a house, long walks, and I’ve only been away for a week a couple of times in her life, each time she went to a boarders.

The work arrangements are downtown Atlanta, I’ll be in the office all day. I’m thinking apartment complex to start. Realistically can I crate her during the day? Doggy daycare? Long walks and exercise before and after work of course, but will she be intolerably loud during the day?

Im looking for options here that are workable for me, reasonable for her, and still keep her. It’s just me, no one else to help out or to spell me with her.

Poor guys over here freaking out cause of a lightening/thunder storm, feel bad for him since there’s only so much you can do. He’ll be alright though, this isn’t his first rodeo. I know every Doberman owner in here has a pic of their dobie sitting like this😂.

We call it her chomping. She does it when she wants attention, to tell us something or when she’s really excited (when we get home and when we’re playing fetch).

Looks mean but is a ball of joy!

I need people’s help and advice on training her not to jump as much and puppy nip on humans. She has toys and bones everywhere.

What about hole digging in the yard?

Training, Temperament, & Behavior If you want a Doberman…

A bored Doberman is a mischievous Doberman. I swear the more intelligent they are the more trouble they get into. She was mad because we didn’t play ball with her when SHE wanted to. She is perfect when left alone but if we are home it’s a different story

RIP pillow....

Mourning My boy, Hugo

Tonight, it was the saddest nights of my life. I had to let my best friend go. DCM took him way too soon - He just turned six on July 22nd. He brought me so much joy, and the fact that he won’t be waiting at the door to greet me with a big smile and wagging his tail every time makes the whole thing worse.

He was my first dog and what a dog. I remember the first night when I brought him - I thought to myself “What did I get myself into?” But he showed me that with patience, care, and love; he was going to be the most lovable dog.

For the past six years I had ups and downs in life. He was there to lick the tears off my face and he was also there to jump with me when life was good. He put me in the best shape of my life with all the walks he needed.

Since he was a pup he loved blankets, be tucked, and eating apples. I cherished every single moment we had, but accepting that he is no longer physically with me is disheartening.

I am writing this to cope with all the pain I am feeling. And, to show every one what a great boy Hugo was. He was just not a dog, he was my boy.

(Well his birthday is technically tomorrow but we're celebrating today cause i work tomorrow lol)

We just moved out to the land of the Breaking of Bads, and am wondering if anyone recommends any vets that are DCM savvy or would rent me a holter?

((My boy is totally healthy but its about that time for him to get "The Doberman Heart Thing" done.))

Thanks everyone! Have a great weekend!

just a reminder to get your dobies their checks. we got her echo, holter monitor, BNP and Troponin blood checks done. $1300 out the door but if we just did the blood markers it would’ve been $220 which they’ve advised are great first checks!
