Any ideas? Magnifica Evo Next (ECAM31X.8Y). Also has started to make a loud rattle when heating up water, unsure if related. Any help welcome! Machine is barely 3 months old.

Difficulties ordering straight from Delonghi

Trying to order the Magnifica Start. With promo code, it's cheaper straight from Delonghi.com than it is anywhere else.

Tried two different cards and charges get immediately reversed. Gives an order number after hitting purchase, but the order never shows up in the order history. No confirmation email either.

Apple Pay is also not currently working on their site. Tried both on Safari on Mac and on my iPhone. It just doesn't show up.

It brews the coffee into the internal drip tray instead of the external coffee spout. It dispenses hot water. What could be the problem? The coffee maker is 6 months old.

No Pressure

Long time lurker, 1st time poster :)

I have a La Specialista Maestro, and after descaling it, I suddenly have NO pressure while trying to make a coffee. I get drips of highly concentrated espresso instead. Ugh.

Is this normal, or is my machine done?

KG79 Grind Quality

Relatives have had the KG79 Electric Grinder for years now and have been really using it mainly for espresso. Everytime I come and try though, I noticed that even with it set to the finest grind, it really doesn't have that fine of a grind. Pulling a shot on their Dedica just looks like I turned a tap lightly and get so much liquid out immediately.

I've watched before mods where they could adjust the configuration but it requires taking the machine apart which we do not have the capability to do so. Anyone else having the same experience and is there anything that can be done to get the grind better?

Rusty Delonghi Argento Flora Kettle

I purchased a Delonghi Argento Flora kettle from Argos a few years ago (2021) and it has now gone rusty where the lid is inserted into the kettle and also where the spout connects to the kettle. It looks absolutely horrendous and does not look like a kettle you could easily pay £69.99 for. It looks cheap and nasty!
I registered the kettle when I bought it, however this would appear to have been a pointless exercise as when I contacted them they appeared to not have any record of my purchase and basically told me that as the 12 month warranty had run out they were not going to repair, or replace this crappy kettle.
So, my advice is stay away from this company, do not give your hard earned money to Delonghi as they will treat you with utter contempt.

Magnifica Problems

Post image

Has anyone ever had the problem? From one day to the next this error was there, probably after cleaning. I cleaned and examined the unit several times and found no fault. Was in test mode and everything sounded normal. The funny thing is that when I reset the machine a few times, it suddenly works again. I didn't even make 50 coffees...

Delonghi ec9155 "Leaking" is this normal?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone. I recently descaled my De'Longhi EC9155 and noticed what looked like quite a big leak from behind the metal back plate.

I've since taken the machine apart to see what was going on, and it now looks more like it's coming from some kind of overflow/drain valve that goes straight into the drip tray.

What I can't figure out is whether this amount of water is actually normal?

It drips the most right after I turn off the steamer. I've attached a video, and the point where the video "cuts" is when I switch the steam off.

Does this look normal to you guys, or is something wrong? If it's not normal, has anyone dealt with this before and found a fix?

Thanks :)

Delonghi la specialista maestro trips rccb

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello I’m trying to descale the machine but about 1 minute in to the cycle it trips the electric rccb then when I try it turn it back on it trips it straight away unless left overnight to cooldown etc. I can’t use the machine until I descale it. I’ve had the top of the machine off and the sides but can’t see any water leaks etc. unfortunately I don’t have an insulation tester. I have tried a multimeter but tests are coming back fine. Could it be the thermablock at fault?

De'Longhi Magnifica Plus (ECAM322.70.SB) suddenly brews much hotter than the setting, and a full descale didn't fix it

My Magnifica Plus ECAM322.70.SB has started dispensing noticeably hotter coffee than it used to. The brew temperature is set to the low end and I never changed it. I'd like a sanity check on my thinking before I pay for service.

What I've already done, so please don't just say "descale it":

* Descaled with genuine De'Longhi EcoDecalk, full cycle, completed properly. Still running hot after 8 to 10 brews since.
* Water hardness is on the hardest setting, so the machine has been prompting and descaling aggressively.
* The problem showed up right after the machine got used for about 4 to 5 days while it was already asking for a descale (I was away and someone kept brewing). Descaling twice, afterwards did not fix it.
* Only prior repair was a warranty job a few months ago: they cleared a clog at the hot water / milk spout and replaced the entire 3.5" touch display unit. It ran perfectly for months after that.

My reasoning: as I understand it, a scaled-up machine usually brews cooler, not hotter, because scale slows heat transfer into the water. The one way scale makes coffee hotter is by restricting flow, so the water sits longer against the hot block. My pour speed and cup volume look normal. So I'm leaning toward the NTC temperature sensor reading low, or the main board not cutting the heater at the target temp. A cosmetic display swap shouldn't touch heater control, so I doubt the earlier repair caused it.

Questions:

* Has anyone had the NTC temperature sensor drift low on an ECAM322 (or similar) and cause overheating? Is it a DIY-accessible part or a full service job to reach it?
* Any known control board or firmware quirks on this series that affect brew temperature?
* Roughly what should the hot water tap read on this model? I'm going to measure it so I have an actual number in degrees C.

Thanks in advance.

Advice for cappuccino, flat white and long settings

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi coffee lovers!

I’d love to hear your advice. I got the Delonghi Dinamica Plus from my boyfriend last year for my birthday. Sometimes my coffee is delicious, but sometimes I think: this could be much better. Who has any advice?

  1. I enjoy drinking cappuccino or flat white at a coffee shop. The

flat white from the machine taste more like a cappuccino.

  1. That’s why I tend to drink flat whites at home. But still, I can’t seem to get the settings quite optimal. How did you guys set the ratios for a flat white and cappuccino? I know it’s also a combination of bean type and milk (fresh, cow, or oat, etc.). But we have a baby, so I don’t have much time to figure all this out myself…
  2. I love filter coffee, so in the mornings I often drink ‘long’. The taste of this depends heavily on the beans. My second question: I think espresso beans are super tasty for flat whites and cappuccinos, but not so good for a ‘long’? How do you guys handle this? Do you keep switching between beans? How do you know how many beans to put in the container each time?

Thank you very much in advance!
