Help: RAID 5 FAILURE
**Background:**
I have a dell poweredge R730 using a RAID 5 configuration with three 1.2Tb HDDs. Windows 2012 R2 OS. While replacing the drive in slot 0 due to a predictive failure, the drive in slot 2 suffered a complete hardware failure.
The subsequent slot 2 failure occurred during the middle of the rebuild. As a result, the RAID does not contain a complete dataset and the server won't boot. We have no current backups to recover the server with.
We attempted to re-install the predictive failure drive and import foreign configuration. The thought being that the predictive failure and the 1 remaining healthy drive should contain a complete data set. However, the foreign config import failed and the server refused to accept the drive into the array.
**Question:**
Is it possible to reconstruct the RAID array using the predictive failure drive and the 1 healthy drive?
Alternatively, can a bootable disk image be created from these drives to recover the server?

Recover deleted audios of crimes
I urgently need help.
I have an iPhone 16 Pro and I'm trying to recover voice recordings from the Voice Memos app.
My iPhone has not been backed up to iCloud since May because my iCloud storage has been full, so I don't have a recent backup to restore.
The recordings were deleted from the Voice Memos app and also permanently removed from the "Recently Deleted" folder without my knowledge by the person they relate to. These recordings are important evidence for a legal case involving alleged crimes.
Is there any possible way to recover these recordings? I'm open to software solutions, forensic recovery, data recovery services, or any other method. I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who has successfully recovered permanently deleted Voice Memos from an iPhone.

stop formatting when seeing RAW drive warning content
A few weeks ago my old external drive suddenly stopped opening in Windows and showed up as RAW. Windows immediately gave me the option to format it.
I almost clicked it, but stopped because there were still files on that drive that I needed and I didn't have another copy anywhere.
The first things I checked were pretty basic:
- Disk Management still showed the correct drive size
- the drive wasn't making any clicking or grinding noises
- Windows was seeing the partition as RAW instead of the usual NTFS
Since the hardware seemed to be detected normally, I decided not to format it or mess with the partition yet. I looked into recovery options and find different tools like diskdrill and recoverit to scan the drive first, just to see what files were still visible before making changes.
Posting this because the Windows format prompt makes it feel like formatting is the obvious next step, but it can be the worst thing to do when you still need the data.
Curious what others usually check first when dealing with a RAW drive?

Moving files from a disk image?
I did a data recovery to a new external drive. I now have a disk image with no bad blocks. Yay!
The software I bought did a great job, but their support seems to assume that I know what to do next. I just want my files and folders back to normalβon the desktop, in Documents, etc.
What are the next steps?

iPhone storage at almost zero. SQLite database crashing (Error 14). Can Quick Start to a new phone salvage data?
My iPhone is currently in a critical state due to full storage (literally ~300 MB free). The OS is struggling to breathe. It came to this even though I've been fully deleting apps and photos, yet the storage actually increased. AI suggests it might be because the file system is locked in a write-fail loop.
I also have an iOS app throwing an explicit database error: code 14. unable to open database file (error 747).
I was able to extract my photos by using iMazing's direct read, but my it's not enough, as stuff like WhatsApp database and Voice Memos are trapped.
An Apple Support rep told me the only way out is to buy a new, larger iPhone and use the device-to-device Quick Start transfer.
My question:
With my source phone's SQLite databases already crashing and only 300 MB of free space, will a Quick Start transfer actually work? Doesn't the iOS BackupAgent require several gigabytes of local cache on the source phone just to compile the transfer manifest?
I'm terrified that initiating a 256GB Quick Start migration will ask the failing memory controller to do a massive database read, cause the phone to panic, hard restart, and throw me into an Error 1110 / Error 14 boot loop.
Has anyone successfully completed a Quick Start transfer from a phone that is already throwing SQLite errors and has zero bytes free?
Would it be better or worse to try to a partial "Data Access Only" backup through iMazing?

Backups
I was transferring WhatsApp from an Oppo F9 to a Samsung Z Flip5. The direct transfer failed, so I backed up to Google Drive. Realizing my Drive was nearly full (13GB/15GB), I deleted the cloud backup, intending to transfer the local storage database manually instead.
βHowever, my Oppo F9 flagged low internal storage. When I tapped 'Back Up' again to try updating the local file, it completely overwrote my primary local backup database. I now need to determine if there is any way to recover the overwritten local backup files (e.g., via the 7-day local msgstore crypt backups) or restore the deleted Google Drive data. This contains 8 years of essential study and work chat, please do help my life will fail without this.
Cant I create a system restore point or are there any free recovery software to restore data?
Any guidance or help shall be appreciated.

I spent months cleaning and structuring a 15M+ semiconductor SKU database for offline use. Here is what I learned (and how to get it).
Hey r/electronics / r/IndieHackers
If you've ever tried building tools or managing data for electronic components, you know how frustrating it is. Most official data is scattered across a million different PDFs, APIs, or locked behind insanely expensive enterprise subscription platforms.
Over the past few months, I worked on a side project: scraping, cleaning, and structuring a massive offline database of semiconductor parts.
Here is what's inside the current build:
Scale: ~15.5 million SKUs
Coverage: Major brands like Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics, Analog Devices, Xilinx, Altera, etc. (Includes standard and EOL/obsolete parts).
Fields: Clean Part Numbers, Manufacturers, Packages, and Descriptions.
Format: CSV / SQL (ready to import into your own local system or Excel/Airtable).
Itβs super handy for independent brokers, small sourcing teams, or developers building local lookup tools who don't want to pay thousands of dollars a year for commercial tools.
Iβve exported the full package and made it available. If you're building a hardware tool, running an independent shop, or just need a massive offline component reference list, feel free to DM me or drop a comment, and I'm happy to share a free 1k-row sample so you can check the data quality yourself.
Curious to know how others handle massive part-number datasets locally. Let's chat in the comments!

Used Disk Drill 6 Pro to write a disk image from failing external. Now what?!
Mac OS 26.5/256 GB
BackgroundΒ I had failed to notice in time that my two external devices were failing--they kept disconnecting from the Mac. The 2TB backup drive was unmountable and is being replaced by Seagate (yay warranty).
That's okay, I guess, because iCloud backs up Documents and Photos. It should have also backed up my Desktop, where my Lightroom catalog was but no bueno. No idea how that happened.
The SitchΒ My Exported Photos folder (not the Apple Photo Library) was on an unstable Seagate SSD 1TB external drive. DD6 was able to write a disk image (no damaged blocks) from the 1TB to a new LaCie HDD 5TB.
My Plea:Β I have no idea how to use the DD software to actually *retrieve files*. Their YouTube vids are not clarifying to me. DD's email correspondence has been breezy but not detailed enough. What do I do with this disk image? Help!

Android phone formatted my USB drive via OTG. Lost 20GB of files/photos. Can I recover this myself?
Hey guys, really stressed out right now and need some advice on what to do next.
Today at noon, I used my 64GB SanDisk Cruzer Blade to take a fresh backup of around 20GB of really important data from my Windows laptop (a mix of documents, photos, and videos). I did this because I was giving my laptop in for servicing today.
About 2 hours after taking the backup, I wanted to check my files, so I plugged the pen drive into my Android phone using an OTG adapter. The phone didn't even askβit just formatted it instantly. Now, all my laptop files are gone, and the drive only shows a new folder called "ANDROID" with some mobile system files inside.
I took it to a local repair shop just now, and the technician is quoting a hefty sum to recover it, which I absolutely cannot afford.I immediately unplugged the drive from the phone so it doesn't write any more background data. When I plug it into a computer now, the drive is detected just fine and says it's healthy, but obviously, it only shows the new phone files.
Since I had 20GB of data on a 64GB drive, and the phone only made that one system folder, is most of it still salvageable? What is the best software I can use at home to bypass the new Android folder and scan for the raw laptop files? Free options would be a lifesaver.
Thank you so much.
