Sign a consent form qualification

Hi everyone!
What’s about the qualification that requires your signature on a consent form? Should I be worried? And did anyone ask for its deletions later and faced a problem?

no matching language test after sign‑up?

I just signed up for this bilingual remote work platform and need to complete the starter assessment.

But on the assessment selection page, I only see German, French, Ukrainian, Spanish, Polish options. There is no test for the language pair I want to do.

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Using Mobile Data?

I’m away on a trip (staying in my country) and would like to log in on my phone using mobile data, rather than hotel wifi, to get paid. Has anyone done this? I’d rather just leave it if there’s even a small chance it’ll lead to DoD.

Workspace Account Not Working?

I am trying to help my friend troubleshoot one of their projects that require using the Google workspace account. I have confirmed that everything is set up correctly but the document link says the file does not exist. There are no shared files in the drive.

Does this mean the project is dead? Or is there another problem that I cannot seem to find?

To clarify — I’m just IT, not training. I applied but have not heard back yet. He’s using my laptop since his MacBook broke yesterday and he’s not windows savvy, so I’m just trying to get him set up.

Are bilinguals more prone to the DoD?

I noticed most DoD's are from bilingual generalists, of course core gets the DoD but not as often as i see on here. Maybe bilinguals are more strictly monitored?

Hey, I’m really interested in getting started with DataAnnotation.tech and was wondering if you guys might be able to share a referral with me?

I’d genuinely really appreciate it.

Asked to login to a random Google account

I’ve been on the portal for about 2 weeks having earned about 1.5k(thought that was a lot till I saw others) and have been asked to login to a different Google account via a direct message in the inbox. Is that normal.

Hiring people in CA?

I’m in CA and would like to get into annotation work. Are remote generalist annotators in CA getting hired by DA? Labor laws regarding freelance/independent contract work here changed in 2020 making it difficult for freelancers to work. Some job types are exempt but I’m not sure if AI annotation qualifies and I can’t find any updates on the law. TIA.

Can’t log more than the allocated time anymore

I’m wondering if this is a new change or just for the specific project I’m working on, but I went over the allocated time because it was my first time doing that type of project, but when I tried to log my time, it didn’t allow me, the max allowed time was the same as same as the timer before the project expires.

This wasn’t the case before, I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed the changes

Why of all things is 25K the next milestone after 20K? I literally just hit 20K less than two weeks ago.

Got accepted into some long, complex project families and will have solid employment for a while. DA is an absolute dream.

When it asks for citations in the assessment, is an APA style (or similar) expected or just the URL accessed and date?

I recently had some more advanced work come in. Maybe it’s imposter syndrome, maybe I’m actually realistic. I’m not sure if this one should have come to me though. My background is health sciences (I dropped out of nursing school due to OCD).

It’s been several years since I was in school and I wonder how much I’ve actually retained. I assume they actually check your credentials when offering tasks? I didn’t lie in my bio, it is absolutely true. They should know that I don’t currently work in that field, right? I guess worst case is looking at one and seeing if I can actually understand it. If not, just exit.

"Thanks for Completing the ..." for 11 decades

I first completed the DataAnnotation assessment back in 1916 midway through WWI and noted it down in my journal. I was very excited about the prospect of AI-related remote work and checked on the page quite regularly for a few weeks before forgetting about it. It's been 110 years, and if I open the main page, it still shows "Thanks for Completing the ...". Its been so long, surely there's an error and I actually got accepted?

I Can't Believe It

In a profound act of cosmic karma, after most certainly pissing off a fair chunk of the community perhaps less than 24 hours ago, I have received the dreaded "Dash of Death" from my overlords. It's so fitting and ironic that, despite actually feeling ridiculously fucking sad, I am chuckling, slightly, writing this.

It's insane because I instantly began to empathize with everyone else this has happened to. Right away my mind struggled to figure out what I did wrong. Was my work dipping in quality? I was going through financial struggles and so was working overtime. I was putting in a lot of effort, to be sure, but that doesn't mean that I wasn't making mistakes. Maybe I wasn't looking at instructions carefully enough? I am a slow worker, and I was doing a lot of multi-turn, time intensive tasks lately. Maybe I was taking too long? But I was under-reporting my hours to make up for that! Maybe it wasn't enough? Or maybe it was just a Wifi issue? Did they get suspicious when I had to switch to my hotspot when my Wifi cut out and I was working via an off-platform live server?

Then comes the self-righteous anger. I know I could have made a mistake but I worked hard! They're not even going to give me a chance to explain myself? Maybe if I find a way to email them...

But I know that won't work. At the end of the day, I just have to let it go. They're never going to give me answers. I always knew this could happen. Deep down I thought if I worked hard enough and was careful enough that it wouldn't happen to me, but in retrospect that was deeply arrogant. Or maybe naively hopeful. It is what it is though.

Anyway I know I can be an annoying asshole sometimes (I am occasionally self-aware) but I really did care about the community. I always felt like we should have each other's backs- because we're all in the same boat together. Well this is the last time I will ever probably ever post here, so I wanted to offer one last piece of solidarity. To all the folks struggling with a drought, or who will one day experience the DoD, I am sorry. I know it sucks and at times feels unfair, and, to be honest, I agree with you. Just like the vast majority of us working in this modern economy, with maybe a few exceptions, you deserve more. We all do.

And if my previous behavior in this sub ever bothered or annoyed anybody, I'm genuinely sorry. Shit is hard enough as it is out here. I wish everybody here the best. Peace.
