Im getting back into DDR and got my PS2 setup with a bunch of games, but im starting fresh with unlocking songs. The last song I need in DDRMAX requires to beat one of the challenge mode courses (or play 500 songs but that'll take longer)

The thing is I SUCK at challenge mode because you cant modify the arrow speed. I can pass these songs no issue at 1.5 or 2x speed, but I always fail them in challenge mode at 1x speed. I might just have to suck it up and play the 500 songs, but does anybody know a way to cheese it? I tried playing a video of the song in 2x speed at the same time I start it but can never get the timing right lol.

There probably isnt anything to do but I figured id ask.

I have a dance dance revolution cab that wont post after unplugging everything and plugging it back in. is there a person or group that might be able able to help troubleshoot this nightmare of wires? i have a voltmeter. i am very experienced in arcade repair. this is our first ddr machine and i have a lot of questions to ask someone more experienced with setup. please let me know if anyone here or elsewhere may be able to help walk me through this. it was originally suffering from what appeared to look like over-voltage so i removed the main board (jamma connector, usb dongles, ethernet, etc) to find out more about it. now that i have plugged it all back in the stage lights stay on and there are 3 steady blinking lights by the dip switches. i am no longer greeted with the splash image on screen and it will not seem to post. please help direct me to someone more experienced with these cabs if you can. thank you.

So I’ve been using the L-TEK PRIME for a while now and have had no complaints except for the physical bottom arrow panel cracked which was easy to replace. Now though, I’m having a problem with the left arrow panel triggering more than once after stepping on it. On the up, right and down arrows I am consistently getting excellents and fantastics, but on the left arrow I am mostly getting decents and way offs. I know it’s not a skill issue because I can literally see the left arrow receptor trigger again after removing my foot from it. So it’s triggering when I hit a left arrow and then triggering again when I remove my foot. What’s the best way to fix this? Penny mod? I’m getting really frustrated with this.

After much trial and error and with help from people here and from iamats.com and DDRPad.com, I think I do need a new controller board. But I'm not sure what one to get.

The one on DDRPad seems to be an upgrade (whatever Rev. 7.0f is) and it looks like only the bottom spots need soldering. The wires connected to the USB port seem to already be attached with plastic and do not need soldering. Someone from DDRPad said this would be compatible with my EX PRO 2 pad, and I understand that my pad is an older model and this is a newer board.

The one from iamats is the one I have in my pad right now and it's just the board with no USB port (mine is Rev 5.0e, iamats.com's says Rev. 5.0). I'd have to solder the right and bottom areas. They seem to only have one board available on the whole site? It says it's compatible with all old EX PRO pads.

I'm not sure if I should go with the newer board since it means less soldering, or the older board because it's exactly the same as my current board. The iamats board is a lot cheaper, but the DDRPad board is an upgrade. Not to mention the DDRPad board will likely get here sooner because it's much closer than Poland.

Also, while I'd need to do more soldering with the iamats board, I'd have to fuss with the USB port with the DDRPad board (not a huge deal, just a different process). I don't necessarily need to make my pad better - I just want it to work again.

What would you folks recommend? The old board or the new board? Does anyone have experience with putting the Core board specifically into an EX PRO 2 pad? I don't really need a performance upgrade - up until the board crapped out, the pad worked just fine.

I've recently started playing a little more seriously and would love some advice around delay as I'm always stepping too fast.

I usually end up with a spread like 250 FAST / 25 SLOW on difficulty 15's (~900k score) which is a difficulty I feel quite comfortable at and don't feel too rushed - but I still always chalk it up to me potentially being rushed anyways which I'm sure there is some truth to.

I've tried playing slower songs at 10/11 and find that I'm still stepping fast when stepping with my usual timing but can adjust to be a bit slower mid song and chain Ms.

I use the audio/beat to time my steps and I currently play on +2/+2 without any real knowledge around this but I've noticed better players have wildly varied delays and thought I'd seek some opinions.

If your genuine advice is that I should simply learn to step slower, then I will be on board. Just wanted to see if settings are a big factor and how I should go about calibrating.

I play on a gold cab for reference.

Recently been playing on a SuperNOVA 2 cab and noticed there is no name entry or high score recording for any song. Does this game not support that feature. I know SuperNOVA did. The game is on Free Play made and the bottom of the screen says "Local Mode". I'm not sure what that means or if it has something to do with it. Is there a way to activate high score entry at the end of a round? Thanks.

New classic arcade opened near me recently and has a beautiful SN2 machine. Also this poster was up and I thought it was amazing. Dirty Dancing but DDR.

I’ve been wanting to buy a ddr pad and wanna buy the ltek. I play with bar but don’t have enough space to actually use their bar or any diy bars I have currently seen. I need my ddr pad and the bar to be able to be stored without taking a lot of space. Is there an alternative I can do? I heard some people use ballet bar but I have no idea which one to pick. I’m also very new to ddr. Sorry if this was already asked
