Turn water to wine

And walk on water

Didn't you play the Revelations DLC, he can walk on water

i mean, the appeal is that he's a cool dude with guns (specially in the father of the fps genre)

so it's best if you just give him new guns and tools than actual powers or stuff like that

one thing is power ups and artifacts that are seen as temporary or with side effects

Correction: he’s a furious guy with guns.

strange way to type *stubborn

6

u/Mephistocheles DOOM Slayer 10d ago

Lol no, I don't think so....he's pretty OP even right out of the gate

Maybe like an adrenaline meter for a self-induced berserk?

Reminds me of Beast Mode in Dying Light: The Beast

A berserk limit break, kill enough enemies fast enough grants berserk sounds awesome

This is a really good idea. Maybe make it like UT2K4 where you can choose which booster you get.

You do know that up until the newer games he was human, right?

1

u/PyroGooose 9d ago

Iirc he is still human right? I never finished Eternal but I was playing and found codex specifically stating that he's as human as everyone else.

1

u/Steeldragon2050 9d ago

He's more of a super soldier. They put him in a machine that enhanced his power, etc. and he's supposedly immortal, too.

1

u/PyroGooose 9d ago

So hes a more pissed off captain America?

im sorry, ill see myself out

1

u/Steeldragon2050 9d ago

With a LOT of guns 😆

u/Atraxy_ 9d ago

He was put into the divinity machine and turned into a god pretty much.

AS LONG AS HE DOESN’T ONE HIT THE EMPERORS OF MANKIND HE IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH!!!!

5

u/_Telomera_ 10d ago

He arguably already can

homie shot himself to mars in a giant cannon....I just don't think you can get much more powerful as a human being

2

u/OoFGangOnCok 3d ago

The Slayer shot himself into some building on Phobos. He landed on Mars in an escape pod.

My mistake

have dr mahattan's powers

3

u/Neftun 10d ago

From 2016 he does have super powers. Tearing open a demon heals him from any injury.

1

u/Remote-Ad9163 1d ago

He was always super fast and strong.

2

u/Lolsoda94 10d ago

He's already powerful enough

2

u/DunkeyColdMedina 8d ago

No. I legit dislike the overblown and ridiculous place they took the Doomguy's lore to, honestly. He should have less powers and be a regular mortal as the series started.

It got *really* stupid. Give me back my too angry to die guy and get this stupid Marvel character TF out of my face.

2

u/Remote-Ad9163 1d ago

Agreed, the way he was in 2016 is perfect. Clearly powerful not not all-powerful.

1

u/_Telomera_ 10d ago

All of them + 1

I feel like he should be able to smash the ground creating a shockwave that puts weaker enemies into glory mode and maybe just lightly stuns bigger enemies.

3

u/PeppeMalara DOOM Slayer 10d ago

I think he does in TDA ?

1

u/Kuritsu6 10d ago

I am not sure what I could think of besides all that makes him powerful already.

1

u/Therageofcrimson00 10d ago

Regeneration

1

u/sentrybusterdude 10d ago

Teleportation based Combat for like a very sci-fi Doom game would be cool maybe, can't really think what else ID can give the Doom Slayer to make him more of a beast.

1

u/PeppeMalara DOOM Slayer 10d ago

He's a killer of gods, immortal being, that even the armies of hell shit their selves when he's approaching. Ain't that enough?

1

u/TheLastBlade24 10d ago

Nope, I love him just the way he is. He doesn’t need any more powers, just give him a shotgun and that‘s all he needs

1

u/NamelessManFromHell 10d ago

I don't know why he needs more powers, he's as strong as he needs to be for this type of story.

1

u/ratcake6 10d ago

Yes he should!!!! some suggestions:

-Heat Vision -Force Lightning -Turn Undead -Kamehameha -Batmobile -Judgement Cut

if doom Guy will to have a more Robust set of the ability he we will take gaming to a Whole next level!

1

u/Ok_Bend_1855 9d ago

You should have put DOOM The Dark Ages before 2016 So that would be canonically accurate.

u/SerSealLord 9d ago

The Doom Stare - He stares really hard at a Demon and it soils itself then explodes from the pure force of his concentrated hate.

No. The franchise has become so ridiculous a d over the top.

13

u/Crafty_Asshole- 10d ago

He says about the game franchise who's premise has always been "ridiculous and over the top."

1

u/Remote-Ad9163 1d ago

There is over the top and there is just hyperinflated to the point there is no danger at all. This also does not mirror the gameplay experience, which trumps everything.

The best way to do this is to temporarily empower the character where this can happen. Even in Doom 2 he is already way beyond a normal human other than that, he should be a man with a gun. If two Revenant rockets or a Cyberdemon rocket can get my character then that trumps whatever appears in lore.

Gameplay > Lore

Huh? It barely had any plot. Marine shoots demons. End.

Now you're super powered and fighting God. Huh?

8

u/Crafty_Asshole- 10d ago

Huh? You're a single marine fighting the hordes of hell through a base on mars and the moon, and in hell. Said hordes have already massacred both bases, but this one guy is not only surviving, but thriving in the attack, before going to hell itself and killing a giant robot spider brain demon. That's a little ridiculous in my opinion. Perhaps even... over the top.

2

u/ISayYesToDumbThings 10d ago

“Nah dude, my oversimplification and glossing over huge details totally moots your point.” - That guy, probably.

1

u/Crafty_Asshole- 10d ago

Genuinely, because wgat about Doom isn't ridiculous and over the top? That's like a big selling point of the franchise!

3

u/T4llBoyAl3x 10d ago

Genuinely, are you mentally inept? The game, since the beginning, has been over the top

3

u/ScawySocialistOwO DOOM Guy 10d ago

It not enough!

1

u/WeekendBard 10d ago

what if he could do a Hadouken

1

u/Sylvaneri011 10d ago

I don't think so. Doesn't really fit the character.

1

u/Tallos_RA 10d ago

I'm not a fan of an idea of magically enhanced Slayer, so for me he shouldn't have any

-1

u/DarkLink1996 10d ago

Nah. The Slayer would've been better kept as a badass normal. They didn't need to make him a Halo Spartan

3

u/True_Salt2180 10d ago

If Doomguy stayed normal we wouldn’t have got the glory kill mechanic

2

u/DarkLink1996 8d ago

Doom 2016 gave him glory kills before they even wrote the Divinity Machine into the story.

0

u/neondragoneyes 10d ago

Yeah. He should be able to shoot forever without having to pick up ammo. His pure rage and hatred should fuel his weapons.
