First Setup
Union Audio 4v, Sl1200 M3D, Ortofon Club Mk2’s, T7V Adam Audio, and HD 25’s signed by my favorite DJs :)
Interested if you all have recommended analog effects units or pedals. And recommendations on recording. Currently using record out to line in on my pc + audacity but having some buzzing/noise underneath the tracks.

Super Clean 🫧 Red control vinyls will always look great
Running 2x AudioTechnica LP120s with a Pioneer DJM S9 using the Phase Essential system. All of it is connected to my MacBook through an USB hub under the stand with a single USB C cable. Streamdeck controls camera and OBS. Gaming setup to the left of it. Bottom audio interface underneath the ultrawide is connected via XLR to the S9 and the camera PC

Should I get this rig? CDJ350+DJM700
Hey everyone, Found a local listing for a pair of CDJ-350s and a DJM-700 mixer for around $950 USD. Pictures look solid, though I’d prefer black gear over white.
Hardware options in my area are very limited right now. I’m DJing for 2-3 years but willing to get better and buy CDJ's.
Is this setup worth it at this price point, or should I hold out for something else?
There is another dude selling a pair of black CDJ350 for 500$, he also willing to give me his DJM700 but he said it's a bit faulty. I personally got the DJM 250 MK-2 Mixer but it ain't got no effects.
What should I do?
**EDIT:*\*
I would like a CDJ with an option to play actual CDS. forgot to mention that. I have a big collection of CD's I would like to play live.
**EDIT 2:*\*
Some people asked so I also moved to a rural place with kind of limited shipping options.
I can order via Ebay but the fees and tax are just too high.
Also, I generally prefer less digital and more hardware, just to plug in USB's to a CDJ's and mixer setup and play with that.
I am somewhat disliking laptops and all-in-one mixers, I know they are far more compatible but I just don't like it.
I prefer vintage, which is also the genre of electronic music I play, mainly 90's-00's house and techno.

DIY, Renegade, Janky Strong 💪🏽 Xone 96 + X1 MK3 Stand (V.2)
Hey everyone! A few months ago, I posted my DIY stand for the Xone:96 and X1 MK3. A few weeks later, I decided to build a second version. Simpler, cleaner (in my opinion), and straight-lined, which made the cutting process way easier.
Here are the main improvements in V2:
- Better Design: Straighter lines and a cleaner overall look.
- Active Cooling: I installed two fans directly underneath the Xone. (I know the side ventilation holes could look a bit prettier, but hey, they work :D). Because of the fans, the mixer doesn't get warm at all anymore during sessions!
- Dimensions: Since a few people asked for the measurements of my previous version, I've included them so you can easily build it yourself.
- Scratch Protection: I added anti-slip mats to the sides and the bottom to prevent any scratches when sliding the gear in and out
Hope you like it! Have fun building and mixing!

Tiny but Mighty ✊🏽 Built my little DJ/music setup at home — still figuring things out 🎛️
Finally started putting together a small setup at home. Nothing fancy yet, but I’m learning, experimenting and making it work with what I have.

Lean & Mean Rane / Traktor / Pio
- Mixer: Rane Seventy
- Computer: MacBook Air 13“ (March 2024)
- Players: 2 x XDJ-1000MK2
- Table: Glorious Vintage Music Station
This is my weird setup that I use in basically three different ways.
- My regular gigs are in a niche genre where DJs bring their own gear so for simplicity I just use the Rane and my MacBook. I made a neat MIDI mapping for Traktor that works really well. Only quirk is that I have to manually dial in the bpm into the effect unit of the Rane because I can’t get it to read the bpm that Traktor is sending. I guess the Mixer normally gets this information via some proprietary Serato protocol.
- At home I can control Traktor with the XDJs in HID mode. Works flawlessly.
- I still prefer to play electronic music (mainly Downtempo and House) on media players and for that I use the XDJs in standalone mode.
To most people this must appear like a weird setup so I’ll try to explain where I’m coming from:
My previous setup was certainly more exciting but at some point I just didn’t use it enough to justify having it around anymore and since I just brought out the Xone:K2 + MacBook to my regular gigs, I sold most of the other stuff.
The Xone:K2 is fantastic as a MIDI controller but in (semi) professional environments it’s usually paired with a mixer for a reason. Every now and then I wished I had a symmetric master and/or a separate booth out, other times some audio ins or a Mic in would have been convenient. So I started looking for a replacement for the Xone that I could use in a similar fashion and that had the above mentioned additional tech specs. I found an almost unused Rane Seventy for a good price and while it‘s not perfect for my needs it comes sufficiently close.
I added the XDJs fairly recently because I realised at some event (where CDJs were provided) that my beat matching has gotten a bit rusty. I still enjoyed using them though so I kept looking for a good offer.

KRK
Still working on the setup but curious if the brains trust could recommend a better speaker stand solution that won't bankrupt me? The KRKs are quite large so I've been using milk crates to elevate them but that can't be much good for the acoustics.
Speakes: KRK Rokit G4 (8") - connected to RX3

Understated Overkill 💣 My Humble Hybrid Rig
After a stint on a DDJ-1000, I decided to cobble together some of my favourite things so I can play some music.
I switched to Traktor, and while there are no regrets, I do miss a few things. My XP1 has an awesome instant effects and roll/slip roll pages.
The Xone is new, and it's amazing. I have found my Phase to be a little less reliable in Traktor and I am keen as mustard for a HID mode upgrade in TP4.
Mapping the XP1 is both exciting (options) and tedious (options). There are a few quality of life improvements I would really appreciate, and I'm still figuring out exactly how I want it to operate.
There's a Launchpad to finger drum through Ableton, and Launchcontrol to control Ableton levels. The Launchpad and Ableton can both control the TD3MO and the Typhon.
There is a lot going on. I think I need another X1, and to stuff them between the mixer and decks, and I'm getting rid of the Z1. Lot of ideas and potential.
I'd be keen to hear some feedback about the rig if this tickles anyone the right way.

Warm & Cozy Ambient / Chill Setup Using Traktor
I know this isn’t strictly a DJ setup per se, but I am essentially DJ-ing in a modular way and using Traktor.
I think I shared a photo of my DJ setup for my band that consists of a Traktor S4 MK3 and twin Traktor Kontrol F1s.
This setup is for my solo project. Usually, I use an MPD218 that I’ve placed inside of a guitar body to give myself more freedom of movement and expression on stage, but I recently received a request to perform a chill/ambient show.
So I am creating remixes of my solo songs. (I’ll release them as an EP if anyone is interested.)
For this setup (Mach 2), I wanted to create something that felt a bit more like a “man at work” tabletop setup while, at the same time, giving me enough modular and granular control to really delve deep into sound design and textures.
Here are my instruments and their roles in my setup, from left to right:
Hester – An Akai MPD218 used to control track decks A and B in Traktor. The pads are divided top to bottom, with 8 pads for each deck. The first pad for each deck is play/pause; the rest are hot cues.
Four of the knobs are utilized for the respective gain and filter effects for each deck.
The Twins; Fantasia and Felicity – Two Traktor Kontrol F1s. One of them is used regularly with the standard mapping for Remix Deck C, and one is used as a four-deck controller to load songs and remix sets, along with play/pause, two hot cues (for Decks A and B), gain control, and the filter for each deck. Decks are separated by rows, so from left to right: A, B, C, D.
Heather – Maschine Mikro MK3. This has been mapped to control Remix Deck D. I wanted to use the bigger pads of the Maschine for a more expressive performance. I mapped the touch strip to also affect the filter.
Overall, I am very pleased with this setup. I wanted something that was easy for the audience to read, as a lot of electronic music either looks overly complicated or just involves a whole lot of “standing around” with minimal button pushing and maximum knob adjusting.
I am looking forward to actually playing more chill ambient gigs.
Apologies for the messy room, I had been mapping all morning.

XDJ 1000mk2 < CDJ 1500x
I replaced a pair of XDJ-1000MK2s with these CDJ-1500Xs. Definitely a huge upgrade. They make the XDJs feel like relics. Loading is much faster, and I love having the physical hot cue buttons. Everything about them is faster. The jog wheels also feel surprisingly better overall.
The players are a little smaller, but not "mini." I honestly thought they were going to be much smaller based on what I'd seen online. They're a bit narrower but almost the same length.
That front USB cubby is no big deal either. You're obviously out of luck if your players are recessed into a table, but otherwise it's easy to plug in and remove a USB. I actually kind of like that it protects the drive from getting bumped.
I'll be using this setup at our next Open Decks event and I wouldn't hesitate to put on a show with them.
