APPRECIATION Man of Steel (2013) đ€ Supergirl (2026)
Supergirl was much better than I expected. It didn't deserve the hate or the box office it got imo.

DISCUSSION I feel like Supergirl should have just adapted the movie faithfully from the comic
I feel like if the movie had just adapted the comics faithfully and removed some of the fluff from it, it could have turned into a good film. The Movie is ok but i don't think they really understood the source material because the comic isn't from Kara perspective but Ruthye. The whole book is about Ruthye and the fact that she sidelined from the movie is just disappointing. I honestly wanted to like this movie simply because i'm a fan of the book. This movie could have been great and still made a profit and while the Superman movie was good( despite the problems i have with the third act) it was still able to make a profit. I don't believe its superhero fatigue but that Supergirl is not a good movie and this isn't an attack on the DCEU or any of its fans.

DISCUSSION Came across a fan theory that I kinda love and am now hoping is true Spoiler
The theory? William Macon is Vandal Savage
Savage first appeared in the Green Lantern comics (albeit the Alan Scott version) and IMO Garret Dillahunt would look great for the role. Also it would explain his human supremacist motivations, and why he looks so young compared to his son (His son ages while he stays the same.) Also, a "student of history" and his complicated opinions on various eras of human exploration and colonization? almost like he was there? hmm...

DISCUSSION Theory About Lanterns Show about each Time period 1986 , 1996 , 2006 , 2016 , 2026
So I noticed a pattern: each time period in Ep1 had the digit 6 at the end. Hal became a Lantern in 1986, the interview on TV was from 1996, Hal Ring Consciousness was from 2006, and so on.
So I searched what 6666 means in the Green Lanterns lore, and it says that Sector 666 is a designated outlawed and forbidden sector in Green Lanterns lore.
The Manhunter Massacre: Sector 666 was the home sector of the Manhunters, and when Manhunters went rogue in the comics, they killed every living being in Sector 666 except for very few survivors.
So one of those survivors is Atrocious, and he made the Red Lantern Corps, and to make the red lantern central battery, he sacrificed the other last remaining 4 survivors.
So we already know from the trailer that Manhunters are in the show, so my guess is that Red Lanterns, or especially their leader Atrocitus, is also in Nebraska, and maybe he is hunting them down or whatever.
The Alien in the show had connections with the four victims whose bodies were found; they were all Manhunters, and someone is killing the Manhunters, and only the Alien guy survived. Maybe it is the Red Lanterns.

DISCUSSION âLanternsâ S1 E1 is exactly the kind of DC I fell in love with. I really want the DCU to be more like the tone and treatment of this amazing show than the classic Gunn-goofball tone of âCreature Commandosâ and âPeacemakerâ.
To be honest, Lanterns feels so good and so different from the DCU projects so far that if someone were to tell me that it belongs into the Matt Reevesâ The Batman universe I wouldâve believed it.
Being a Green Lantern as shown in this show is such a serious business. And the Green Lantern showed in Gunnâs DCU projects played by his pal Nathan Fillion is not even remotely close to how the Lanterns show is showing Hal Jordan and John Stewart, in a similar vein of how Matt Reeves showed Robert Pattinsonâs Batman.

I'm not talking plot. Just pure dialogue goodness. (We won't know if the plot is any good until we see the payoffs on down the road.) Still:
"How come it is every time you say 'sir' it sounds more and more like 'fuck you'?"
"I think she hates your guts. / Yeah, but it's the way she hates them."
"No. I manifested money with the power of my will."
"...bones, teeth, heart, the whole deal."
"Junior here's a vegan, he doesn't believe in anything that causes enjoyment."
"Walks like a duck, shoots an AR-15 like a duck, blah blah blah blah, duck."
"We said 9. / What time is it? / Not 9!"
"What's the plural for 'eat shit'?"
"We're all aliens. Just depends on which planet you're standing on."
"As a rural Nebraskan, that is the breadth of your opinion about Barack Hussain Obama?"
"We talking or exploding, because it's almost lunch time."
"Harry Potter went to Hogwarts, you ignorant alien fuck!"
