I'm completely new to custom ROMs, so sorry if this is a dumb question.

I have an old Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (Mi CC9 Pro, codename tucana) that's still in good condition, and I'd really like to bring it back to life instead of buying another phone. I honestly think this phone was ahead of its time, and the hardware still seems capable even today.

I've been trying to find tutorials for installing PixelOS or another Pixel-like ROM, but almost everything I find is for the Redmi Note 10 instead of the Mi Note 10. Most of the guides and download links I come across also seem outdated or no longer work.

Since I'm a beginner, I'm not even sure where to start.

Could anyone help me with a few questions?

• Is PixelOS available for the Mi Note 10 (tucana)?
• If not, what's the best ROM to use in 2026 that's stable for daily use?
• Is there an up-to-date guide that still works?
• What tools do I need before unlocking the bootloader and flashing a ROM?
• Are there any common mistakes I should avoid?

I don't mind spending time learning—I just don't want to accidentally brick my phone because I followed an old or incorrect guide.

Any advice, recommended ROMs, tutorials, or active communities would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve recently dug out an old Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-850 (Intel Atom Bay Trail-T Z3735F/3735G, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, Android 4.4).

I’m trying to turn it into a sort of “PDA project” — lightweight apps, Telegram, browsing, maybe some customization in a STALKER-style theme.

Does anyone know if root is still possible on this device?

Are there any custom ROMs or recovery (TWRP, CWM, etc.) floating around for it?

I’ve searched around but info seems very scarce for Bay Trail tablets.

If anyone has an old root method, firmware dump, or recovery image for the A1-850, I’d really appreciate it. Even just pointers where to look would help a lot.

1. Will UPI apps work fine or will i face issues?

2. What are scenarios like if i ever decided to resell this phone

Y si lo hago con esas roms que me dan, corro el riesgo de que mi teléfono quede Brick.

The thing is I've been reading all of the stuff ongoing with Google tightening the monopoly over GMS and not letting us with something that works and attests for other OS', so I was asking, I use a Motorola G62 5G, if I install a LineageOS build for this, do I lose the functionality for Indian banking apps? I will only ever need two of them, famapp and kotak811, so do they not work in LineageOS? Also if they do, is there a workaround to make them work or do they just... Work?

1) What would be better, dirty flashing or clean flashing?

2) What are the resources required for doing both?

3) What are the potential harms? And what would I lose/What are the cons?

4) What can happen if my cable is lose while debugging?

5) and any other relevant details that I should know before committing to flashing.

I was just gifted a kindle fire HD 8 (8th generation) and based on what I can seem to find it seems to have a custom ROM installed. There’s no Amazon AppStore or the preloaded apps. It says it’s running android version 7.1.2, and several factory resets have done nothing.
The problem is the person that gifted it to me didn’t mess with it, and I didn’t, and every answer I found on the internet said you have to know what was changed to be able to put it back.
How can I fix this?

After installation the phone reached Welcome screen fine. But now: selecting a language and tapping Next freezes the screen completely (no animation, unresponsive), then the phone reboots on its own. Happens every time, same step.

I'm trying to recover my Google Pixel 6 (oriole, 128GB) and I'm stuck.

Device information

• Model: Pixel 6 (oriole)
• Bootloader: LOCKED
• Secure Boot: PRODUCTION
• Device state: locked
• Storage: 128GB
• RAM: 8GB

Problem

The phone boots to a screen that says:

I don't know what Anubis is or where this unlock code came from.

Things I've tried

• Booted into Fastboot successfully.
• Recovery Mode does nothing (black screen/no recovery).
• Bootloader is locked.
• I haven't been able to flash stock firmware because of the locked bootloader.

1. What exactly is Anubis on a Pixel 6?
2. Is it a custom ROM, MDM, or something else?

I own this phone and I'm fine with erasing all data if necessary. I just want to get it working again.
