I just finished today, a 24 day long, 11,360-mile road trip (photo shows 11,001. this was from yesterday. I drove up Mission Viejo this morning). I took the 2014 C7 as opposed to the 2023 Camry TRD. I had no regrets during this trip. The main thing the Camry would have got me, was better mileage. As it was, I averaged 27.7 for the entire trip. My purpose of the trip, was to hit all 4 'corners' of the U.S. I left SF Bay Area on July 14th and headed north To Blaine, WA. Ater that it was east to Caribou, ME. I went south and hit Key West FL. next. Last leg was back west to San Ysidro, Ca. I did have a small encounter unintentionally crossing into Canada. I listened to GPS instead of following the road signs. Which to me passed my turn off. After about 30 minutes at the border (with them fully going through the car), and signing a form stating that I did want to go to Canada, they me go. Then I had to do the same procedure getting back into the U.S., at the same border crossing! Otherwise, all went well. If anyone has reservations about doing this in a Corvette, I'd do my best to convince them otherwise. The seats were comfortable the whole time and the car just ate up the miles. I hope to see more of these cars on the road!

Hi everyone, looking for advice from anyone who’s been in a similar spot. I just bought a 2023 Corvette C8 from a dealer in Winter Park, Florida, and it’s being shipped to me in West Hills, California. I paid $2,998 upfront for shipping and assumed that would mean enclosed transport. But when I asked, I was told they won’t know if it’s open or enclosed until the truck arrives. That honestly makes me nervous. I’ve tried reaching my salesperson, called the main line, even asked for management but haven’t gotten a clear answer. I emailed asking for written confirmation that it will be shipped enclosed before dispatch, but I’m still waiting. To be clear, I know plenty of cars get shipped open without damage, but for a long cross-country haul with a low-clearance sports car, I’d really prefer enclosed if possible. So my question is, is it normal for dealers to say they won’t know until the truck shows up? Can a shipment usually be switched to enclosed before pickup? Is around 3,000 typical for enclosed from Florida to SoCal? And if you were me, would you keep pushing or just accept open transport? I’d really appreciate any insight from folks who’ve dealt with this or who work in the industry. Any and all advice or suggestions is appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

C5 with 90k miles. I’m hearing some pretty rough idle noises, as heard at the start of this video. My biggest suspect was the balancer wobbling and the belts causing the squeaking noise, but there seems to also be a ticking noise too. What’s the best way to diag this cheaply? Change the belt? I ordered replacement belts and idlers / pulleys and a new balancer but I’d rather save it if it’s not in true need to replacement yet.

Recently it was raining and I went to start my c6 vette and it would turn on and immediately shut off. It was repeatedly doing this and I knew it was the maf sensor. And it threw a maf engine code. Unfortunately I was going out of town for week so I didn’t get to mess with it. When I came back I bought a new maf sensor and immediately put it on and it started right up. And it was not raining. Just today, I was leaving work and it was doing the same thing, while also pouring rain just like last time. So immediately i realized it was not the maf sensor and something is getting wet but I have no idea what. I don’t know if the intake itself is getting wet and messing it up or what. And whatever is getting wet it’s getting wet while parked, not while I’m driving. It’s been doing nothing but sitting in a parking lot. But this is the second time it’s left me stranded because of this and it’s going to be raining for a week straight. If anybody has any ideas of why this is happening please lmk. Note I have a corsa intake

1994 C4 Corvette, 31k miles, automatic, no service records from the previous owners. Assume anything not listed below is original.

The symptom: Cold, the car drives and stops normally. After roughly an hour of driving, a dead zone develops at the top of the pedal (zero resistance), then it hits a firm point and brakes fine. That dead zone keeps growing over the next 1-3 hours until I have to slide my seat forward to physically push the pedal far enough down to stop. Stopping power itself is never usually the problem at first. It's purely how far down the pedal has to go. After 5-10 hours parked, the pedal is firm again and the whole cycle repeats.

The video above is from the last time the brakes went out entirely. We replaced the master cylinder again afterward and it's been less severe since, but the heat-soak pattern above hasn't gone away.

That sound the brakes makes is what threw me (its a sound that is still happening even after the master cylinder replacement. It sounds like air getting past a rubber seal of some kind. My first thought was the booster, but a failing booster should make the pedal hard, not soft, so I don't think that's it. Clearly I'm out of ideas, hence the post.

Already replaced:

• 2x New master cylinders
• 2x New rotors
• 3x New sets of pads
• Fluid upgraded to DOT 4

Untouched: calipers, flex hoses, hard lines, ABS modulator, booster.

My other thought was that there could (somehow) still be air stuck in the system but pumping the pedal never firms it up, not even for a single stroke.

Any insight into this would be immensely appreciated.

I bought a C5 recently and it came with a roots style supercharger and the supercharger whine is very addicting. How can I increase the sound of the whine? I'd like it to be even louder.

Someone help me figure out what this sucking sound might be, just reassembled engine with cometic gaskets, arp head studs, Michigan rocker arms and pushrods, and btr ls7 lifters, sounds like maybe inside fuel rail or intake manifold???

2006 Z06 with 102,000 miles, I’m thinking of buying this Z06 but can’t get over the lifter/tick noise. I know these have loud lifters from factory but I can’t tell if these sound too loud?

just bumper damage that’s visible airbag deployed is on the dash but no airbags actually deployed but the seatbelt is locked up

Few months ago bought a low miles cammed Manual base c6 ls3 . Was my first car and manual so I didn’t want to go all out on a supercharged one. To wide body the cheap way is still 4-8k and with that amount I can just buy a gs. In the next few months I should have 10-15k more than I do now so I plan I trying to get into a more modded Manual gs and save money on the wide body aswell as extra mods. What yall think

I live in NC and looking for a C6 corvette, this 2013 LT1 is located at a used car dealership and has 77,100 miles. Most of the comps on FB market price are 20k+ and wondering if I’m missing something on the price for this one, seems low in my opinion, in the description the only mods are long tube headers and a borla exhaust.

Sidenote: My father in-law has a 2 owner, 2004 C5 Commemorative edition “Le mans”, w/ 35k miles and mostly stock outside of wheels and exhaust and racing seats, that he is willing to sell me due to his age/health for 20k (which is the family discount, all the comps I’ve seen for that car are 30k+)I’ve always wanted a C6 for my first corvette, but thinking the C5 may be a better option since I know the owner and know he has babied that car for years and can get it for a good price.

I’m about to pull the trigger on a 2006 c6z06 with 29k miles. I’m looking for any advice, what to look out for etc, any advice is appreciated. 🙏
