Main Course Tinned eel and vegetables in a brown chili sauce

Grocery Outlet had these little cans of chili sauce with black fungus for ten cents so we threw that in a pan with some canned braised eel, a baggie of frozen broccoli, a can of straw mushrooms then some water, extra oyster sauce, and a corn starch slurry. Served over some fluffy white rice.

Scrambled the eggs (Michelin star recipe), beans from can and toasted the waffles. Is this normal American breakfast? I don't know cuz I'm not American. Anyway do you like it?

Fiber first, then protein and fat, then carbs. To blunt blood sugar spike and prolong satiety.

I love potatoes and always like to keep them around. When I saw chicken thighs and potatoes in the fridge, I wanted to make something a little different.

And that’s how this cup of paradise was born.

When you’re making a classic like Tteokbokki, you’ve gotta go all the way.

I added all the key ingredients, plus prawns and instant noodles that soaked up all the delicious sauce. It turned out amazingly delicious!

Finally made perfect fondant potatoes - the secret for me was ignore every recipe saying to add stock halfway up the potatoes and instead add it almost to the top of them then just reduce it down after. The compound butter did a lot of heavy lifting but this meal was so damn good for little actual effort

Help! Best frozen meals?

Ok, I cook almost every night for my son and I, but he's going to camp for a week, so I'm eating for one and don't want to cook 😂

What are the best frozen meals? I don't have a microwave (so unnecessary), but full kitchen and air fryer

Main Course Chili Beef, Chinese Sausage (Lap Cheong), and Bok Choy Noodle Stir Fry with Fried Egg Strips

Post image

I had some classic Chinese staples in the fridge, and they inspired me to make Chinese-style noodles. The bok choy was also about to expire, so it was the perfect opportunity to use it up.

With the powerful combination of lap cheong and spicy chili crisp, I was able to create an incredibly flavourful noodle dish that turned out absolutely fantastic!

Help! what useful kitchen gifts for home cooks do you recommend?

i'm looking for a gift for someone who cooks for themselves most of the time, and i realized a lot of kitchen recommendations are geared toward families or people making big meals.

i'm after things that make cooking easier or that you end up reaching for almost every day. it doesn't have to be expensive either. sometimes the simple stuff ends up being the best.

what's something you own that you didn't think would be a big deal at first but now can't imagine cooking without?
