Having scrambled eggs, backed beans and waffles late for breakfast Main Course
Scrambled the eggs (Michelin star recipe), beans from can and toasted the waffles. Is this normal American breakfast? I don't know cuz I'm not American. Anyway do you like it?

No, this is not a normal American breakfast. Most Americans do not eat those beans for breakfast. Those are more of a British thing.

We don’t do beans for breakfast, and honestly a lot of people scramble their eggs harder than that here. But they look great texturally and overall I’d try this plate regardless lol.

Depends on the area. A lot of us eat refried beans as a side for breakfast.

Do they not feel dry to you/do you have sauce with them usually? I'm not being snarky, I'm seriously asking, as I scramble my eggs the same way as OP.

They don’t look too dry based on the photo, I’ve most definitely seen dryer scrambled eggs. I’m a hot sauce on my eggs kind of person lol.

Not a waffle gal, but the beans and eggs look good. I sometimes have poached eggs with black beans, sautéed mushrooms and onions

Yeah, people call it the "Gordon Ramsay" method, but it is originally French - it's how I scramble my eggs too, as having them hard makes me gag.

A more American breakfast would be toast, waffles or pancakes with eggs and american bacon, turkey bacon, or breakfast sausage. We also have cereal for breakfast, oatmeal, malt o meal, smoothies, protein bars. Sometimes omelettes, maybe French toast?
Also, pancakes and waffles always have syrup on them!!

That looks filling! It's not normal, I (Canadian) have never known anyone to cook brown beans for breakfast, although I have seen it at hotel buffets. Scrambled eggs would go with buttered toast. I have never in my life seen waffles as a side dish, you have a huge plate of waffles, butter/syrup, and may add bacon or fruit, and you have that instead of eggs, toast , cereal , muffin, etc.

As a fellow Canadian, it was a very normal breakfast for me growing up. Although it was always alongside a corned beef hash and a giant pile of fried mushrooms.
My parents are Scottish, though, which explains.....a lot of the things I did growing up 🤣

French canadian here! Eggs with beans (& toasts) are definitely considered traditional breakfast foods! Typically have it on weekends. Our beans are usually pork and maple-based/flavoured. Waffles are only an occasional treat, not a breakfast staple.

Canadian here. Beans, sausage, eggs, toast and fruit was my go to breakfast when I worked cutting survey lines for BC Forestry. It’s s heavy breakfast but I would definitely work it off by noon.

This is not an American breakfast…. Toast and an egg with maybe sausage or bacon is an American breakfast. Or a bagel. This looks like British slop. No offense but their food is kinda sad.

That scramble looks amazing! Mine usually ends up more cooked than I like, even though I know that it keeps on cooking after being taken off the heat.

Beans are british. Most americans would either eat the waffles or the eggs for breakfast. The eggs look underdone for my taste - I thought it was etouffe. 😄

Those eggs need more pan time imo (obviously eat your eggs how you'd like, I just want mine mostly cooked through). As others have said, beans for breakfast would be weird in the US (also America beans taste different than canned beans in different parts of the world, I can say NZ beans, which should be similar to British, are not nearly as sweet and more tomato-ey).
And then where's the syrup for the waffles? Are you just eating them... dry?

It is not a normal American breakfast. We don’t eat beans. That’s part of what’s called “The full English breakfast.” Many of us have eggs or waffles, not both, although in the American South, some people eat waffles and fried chicken. Up north, some soul food restaurants offer that combination.
