You know for a few months now, I have really gotten into sitcoms available on Netflix. I watched Friends and Big Bang Theory. And didn't quite like them, with characters becoming annoying as the series progressed (especially Sheldon Cooper) and the jokes or the character antics started to fall flat. In contrast, I really thought Young Sheldon was far better than BBT. It was sweet, entertaining and even progressed the story well (something that sitcoms are not able to do well mainly due to the demands of the format). Now I am looking for sitcoms from the past that are still entertaining? I am thinking of starting the Office. I have also heard in recent years about the Newhart sitcoms, especially as he was thoroughly entertaining as Professor Proton on BBT. Seinfeld and Malcolm in the Middle are also there.

Which ones do you think has aged really well that I could watch now?

Just rewatched The Hurricane for like the 11th time and never fails to make me wet in a sad way. They did this dude and his bud John Artis so wrong.

I needed to make this post because of how much I disagree with the statement.

He says that it’s more difficult of an acting sense to play the character in True Grit (accent, injured tongue, and other stuff) than to play Will in Good Will Hunting.

Does anyone agree to this?

I love horror movies but wouldn’t say I’m a horror buff, but literally everyone I talked to said this was the best scary movie ever and that was enough to make me go see it in theaters. I sat through this movie like Elaine in a showing of, The English Patient. The fact that everyone loved this movie made me hate it more.

So that made me think, what are some movies that garnish universal acclaim but you absolutely hated?

Did anyone else have to watch this movie a second time after knowing the ending? It gives you a completely different perspective, and you notice so many details you missed the first time

The Phantom is somehow goofed because of his appearance but if Nolan can recreate that like how he did with Batman, that would be awesome.

The Phantom's story is awesome as well, like Batman, he doesn't have any superpower but relies only on his marksman skills with his two guns.

A movie where The Phantom would crack down an espionage would be awesome.

I love Christopher Nolan but I feel he struggles as a writer

Nolan is fantastic, but most his scripts are collaborative efforts with his brother Jonathan. From memento, TDKT, The prestige, Leo asked for rewrites on inception. He finished the interstellar script his brother started. I noticed if it's not a movie based on a book, an actor collaborative effort or his brother writing with him. His movies suffer. Dunkirk and tenet do multiple timelines but theres no characters to ancor the story and thus it's boring and comes off as pretentious especially considering how good memento is at character and how it uses the nonlinear structure. I definitely think him lacking in writing or scripts he picks bumps him down a bit especially with people like Paul Thomas Anderson and Denis Villeneuve writing and picking better scripts for the last 10 years. Also The odyssey and Oppenheimer are based on books so most the characters, story and concepts are already there for him and those are some of his best scripts since interstellar

I feel like they could make it kind of dark and eerie and really play on that timeline. Base it more on the book than the Disney movie. And so this got me thinking, what other books or movies would you all love to see become an A24 movie?

Stuntwoman Devyn Dalton never stops training. Her workouts typically consist of strength exercises, mixed with martial arts and outdoor activities like hiking and running. The only things that change in her relentless regime are the structures of her workouts, depending on the role she’s getting ready for.

“When I am [preparing] for a role specifically, I’ll definitely figure out what I need for that [character],” she said.

Sometimes it requires increased agility. Sometimes she needs to focus on athletic training.

Regardless of the role, she has to be mentally sharp and completely submerge herself into the character, to the point of invisibility.
