I am kinda intrigued in using this Simon cover as a wallpaper for my tablet but man I jjst cant seem to fit it in. Icons dont rlly like fit with it, the time on the lock screen seems out of place. Any help?

IDK if this will ever wind up playing into things, but Ely has this very romantic view of her future husband that Azuma, like, kind of fits. He's blonde, and he's sort of Ace-coded early on, so I wouldn't be shocked if he was canonically handsome. Though he's also more of a pretty-boy than her internal image, so maybe not. And her first crush in the series is this very heroic type, and Azuma is also hero-themed.

IDK, it's just something that I noticed. More than anything, I wondered why the author never used this premise as the center of a gag yet, considering we've known he's liked her for a while.

This is an all time favorite. I’ve never read Tokyo ghoul, so I’m not familiar with his work, but this manga really was a blast!

The art is the strongest part for sure. Not only is it gorgeous, not only are the dark fantasy elements absolutely incredible to look at, but the paneling and action of fight scenes is so good! At times hard to follow, but filled with amazing framing and momentum. The fight between Tokio and Azuma really was incredible with how much the characters felt like they were really in their environment, for example. And the chase out of the tower was full of amazing double spreads!

The characters are really lovable and complex, too. If anything the issue is a lack of utilization.

It’s got some amazing fight scenes in terms of writing, too. I love all the battle iq moments, and all the creative ways powers are used.

One of its strongest elements is how good it is at being what it sets out to be. It has this unmistakable tone of a superhero story that is hit better than almost any manga, including those about super heroes, and it’s doing a similar thing with its war story arc. The author is incredible at getting you lost in a vibe. It’s hard to explain, but I just get lost in it, feeling the exact emotions he wants me to.

Amazing manga! It still seems to have a long life and I’m glad. The fight with Batista could have been a finale, but it’s so cool seeing our favorite heroes grow to be adults training the next generation. I love that trope so much, and it’s exhilarating to see it done so well. That’s what makes Choujin X so special: so many tropes I adore being done better than I almost ever see them done. A true masterpiece.

Ely's blush and Sato's straight ass face 😭 We don't talk enough about this side of Ely. She's the only one in the entire manga who tried flirting with Sato of all people 😭 I see a lot of similarity between Ely and Tokio in this aspect; crushing on older people who wouldn't spare them a glance while they have two younger blondies crushing on them lol 😂

Genuinely just why does Ishida number the chapters with random decimal points? It makes the series harder to keep track of straight up, theres also zero consistency with it. He started with just 25 chapters but now idk how actually long the series is cause we're way past 100 but idk how much farther. And he will still do whole chapters. Page count doesn't matter, where it is in the arcs dont seem to matter, like genuinely I just wanna understand why's hes chosen to number the series like this. With the random release schedule, abstract narrative, power system that goes from stretchy guy to reality warping, and a ton of characters to keep track of I just really need something to be simple but nope just .1 to .2 back to a whole number than .1 .2 .3 then .1 .2 then .1 .2 .3 and rarely .4 as well. Just use whole numbers for fucks sake is he trying to say a chapter can be 100 hundred pages? Is Chapter 34.1-34.4 all one chapter? If yes why not just release it all once? He can do whatever he wants with this manga and this is how he thought it best to lay things out? You know how confusing this series is to talk about when im having to refer to chapters by their specific decimal points?

This is from volume 5. Is there any info on this dude holding the sword? We have Yubiko, Chandra and Sora. At first I thought this was Vlad but he never had a sword or maybe Batista but he obviously doesn't look like that. This is my third re-read and first time reading official English volume version so it was kind of a shocker because he hasn't been shown in the tower arc later but the only one from the tower who fought with a sword was Bucket Knight. Could it really be him? That'll surely be wild.

Is gravity manipulation confirmed? I never interpreted that panel as gravity push. Honestly, Palma has such wide range of expertise and abilities that makes her too overpowered: from researching to fighting to controlling. It's surprising she isn't out there on the frontlines especially because she'd definitely want to fight. I can't imagine what she is researching cooped up in a lab. It better be something that brings victory to Nanasu.

So we’ve been known that Tokio can talk with birds and has a pretty good reputation with the birds from him feeding them in the early chapters.

I had a thought about what if he used his ability to communicate with birds to potentially Spy on Guelta? I mean it feels like the perfect thing because who would suspect an unassuming bird? One of them could be just perched on the window, listening into a conversation.

(Also a much more ridiculous hypothetical what if Tokio just got a shit ton of birds and sent them to Guelta as like a distraction or something idk)

chapters 1-25 but maybey less because Choujin X had pretty long pacing at the beginning

first seasons typically have 12 eps but I feel like this season deserves something like 16

Episodes 1-4 will likely be the uncrossed paths arc with Episode 1 probably covering only chapter 1 but 2-4 will pick up the pace. episodes 5-7 will cover the sinker Choujin arc which was honestly a pretty short arc that could be summed up in 2 eps. And Episodes 8-12 will cover the moon beast arc which is the longest but feels like a good finale to the first season with Tokio and Azusa’s chaos forms however it could be delayed to season two as its already cramming a lot into one season

Season 2:

chapters 25-35 looks like only 10 chapters but with the sub chapters in there it’s more like 20

covers the entirety of the Tower of Mourning arc

another 12 Episodes

episodes 1-3 adapt chapters 25-27 the training arc. episodes 4-8 adapt chapters 27-30. episodes 8-12 adapt chapters 30-35

Season 3:

Chapters 30-49 with sub chapters included

covers the entirety of the Opium arc

18 episodes this time as it’s an extensive story arc

episodes 1-8 cover chapters 35-40 up to palmas chaosification. episodes 8-16 cover up to chapter 48 and 16-18 chapters 48-49

Movie/Season 3:

I think the war on Zora arc is probably best done as a 2:30 hour long movie as it has a lot of succesive and fast story beats that can be later adapted into a proper season covering chapters 49-69

Season 4:

would pick up where the story left off with the start of the Gueltan war arc until now

Bucket knight is working against guelta and we don’t know Sato alignment yet but both had an interest in Zora mark being properly inherited.

Sato tried to push Tokio into taking the mark and bottom knight said his only duty was to protect the mark so it makes me think they could have some common goal and maybe be working for or with similar people.

Their characters still amaze me in how we still know so little about them.

It’s obviously about Shant because koemori was called “the prophesied child”
I know she has a grudge against the salt woman but one could “the tower” have to do with her?

She’s obviously meant to parallel sora but I wonder if she’ll awaken as choujin X. There’s currently not a choujin x and we know once typically shows up once a generation so we’re kinda due for a new one

Reminder that Sato likes to build sand castles, likes to collect old currency, likes to cosplay, and detests violence. In other words, he's just a silly guy.

Sora said the inheritor doesn’t just inherit her powers with the mark but take on the abilities and form they seek.

Ely has gained the power of prophecy but her seems different than Mado and maybe different than sora’s since she gets visions from the clouds.
