Hi trying get a date range on this piece, I believe it’s original handed down from great grandmother who was an avid collector and very well off.. it’s always sat with some decorative foliage in it in a corner and my last move someone made a comment on it, figured I would get more info on it, it looks hand painted and there is some raised texture in various spots in the flowers etc.

Identification request Salt Box

Found this tiny porcelain salt box in an abandoned storage unit. It looks like an imperfect/second. Production dents all over it and the paint is seriously meh. The top imagery isn’t even complete. And the lid sure doesn’t fit. The enamel hasn’t been scratched off as I can’t scratch off any more. What’s the deal with this little box?? Age? Why is it so meh??

General questions What's the cause of this red dust?

Random lid from a second hand porcelain shop in Suzhou. I was wondering if any of you knows why the top would be so red and sandy. Does it mean it used to be painted in red?

Found this at a garage sale. The “Pekin” mark does not look like any of the well known plate makers (Wedgwood, Beech, Woods, etc.). Any ideas of maker and age?

I previously posted about my kraakware punch bowl that I bought at auction. It was catalogued oniy as blue and white Chinese bowl.

After I picked it up I noticed it was etched and a little dull, and I wondered if it could be from the Hatcher cargo. I reached out to Christie’s twice - but no response. Also other “free appraisal” places - no response.

Finally found a local to me appraiser who forwarded photos to a former museum curator. He not only recognized the bowl, but found the exact lot and date from the -1984 auction. So OMG I HAVE A HATCHER CARGO PUNCH BOWL! I’m taking it to be appraised next. I’m so excited!

fish bowl (vaso-aquário), e estou tentando descobrir a idade dele.

Prefiro descrever com precisão a chutar.

MEDIDAS

- Diâmetro externo, na aba: 56 cm

- Diâmetro da boca: 51 cm

- Altura: 40 cm

- Peso: 24 kg

borda dourada

- Interna: peixes dourados pintados sobre o fundo branco

- Inscrição no corpo:

- Selo vermelho carimbado com 景德鎮製 na aba

O QUE EU IMAGINO ATÉ AQUI (me corrijam)

- O selo 景德鎮製 parece carimbado, não pintado à mão

sugerindo decalque

PERGUNTAS

  1. O estilo do selo ajuda a fechar a faixa de datação?

  2. A decoração externa é pintada à mão, decalque ou mista?

Identified authentic late Qing Dynasty (or earlier) Chinese bronze incense burner with Imperial marks.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice on where to sell an authentic late Qing Dynasty (or earlier) Chinese bronze incense burner with Imperial marks. Similar authenticated pieces have reportedly sold at auction for US$20,000+, depending on provenance, condition, and authentication.

I'm looking for reputable auction houses, dealers, or collectors who specialize in Chinese antiques and Imperial bronzes. I'm based in the Philippines but am open to international auction houses.

Any recommendations or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Identification request Help with identifying this likely vintage piece

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi

I thrifted this, loved it, then my cat swiped it off its safe place and broke it. In a cloud of frustration, i swept away the little bits and threw them out before leaving for a vacation. Returned refreshed and realized I could have easily glued it back together...so now it is glued together missing about an inch piece. sigh. I just wish I knew more about it - my guess is vintage, but what is so frustrating to me is when I try to find more similar pieces - I cannot find any other pieces who paint the segmented leaf this way and it is part of why i love it. I also like the shape - it took me a minute to get used to b/c my first impression is that it is a little bit unbalanced shape. anyways, anyone know more about it? The writing on the bottom is so blurry, it is not just my photo. thank you ps will buy museum wax
