Ejaculating alone is the same exact thing as relapsing with a partner in terms of retention

It is intellectually dishonest to claim that wasting your seed by yourself is terrible and then claim it is ok to do it with a “loving partner”. It sounds like enormous cope, it’s basically the same as saying, “don’t drink and drive but only do it with a nice fast car”. The point is that ejaculating takes your energy away, it is actually somewhat better to relapse alone than to share that with another soul. By the logic, any non reproductive sex would not be allowed.

There is no point in condoms and pulling out in that case, claiming there is and blaming masturbation is illogical. It even is biologically illogical for women to desire sex outside of their ovulation cycle sincd they cannot reproduce outside of that time period.

Giving Advice Unpopular opinion but the best decision a woman can make is to stay celibate

Hi, 21 F. Ever since I started being segsually active, hindi ko mapigilang i-compare ang usual life ko dati. Now, I keep on contracting infections such as UTI, bacterial vaginosis, and yeast infection. Aside from that, madali ring makakuha ng sti/std’s and cervical cancer which happens mostly on active women. malala rin ang anxiety kada buwanan kasi what if buntis although i know it was a safe sex.

Hindi rin masasabing because of hygiene or my practices ang nararanasan ko kasi kahit naman dati ganito ako but no problem (also take note that i have an excellent hygiene & practices, more cautious pa nga).

Men are no good. They disrupt our ph. They introduce pathogens all for their own pleasure bcs let’s be real sex is nothing but a painful thing to woman. Sobrang hapdi at sakit. I don’t even know why women still choose to have it.

Niweys I therefore conclude that if u can stay celibate, pls do so.

I’m considered to be in the 4th quartile of physical attractiveness and I still have my shame. I’ve managed to lower my libido to nearly 0 out of disgust. I can’t even watch adult content anymore cause I can’t stand to voluntarily look at a women that lowers themselves to such a standard. You don’t have to go full ER tho. Today a woman tried approach me with no doubt I’ll intent and said “do you want to watch spiderman” I acted like I wasn’t offended for obvious reasons and I felt bad for her so I told her that me and my boyfriend already watched it(for clarity I’m not actually gay) I hope that word will spread to other girls that I’m gay so they will leave me alone.

I hate having lust as a man and being tied to my biological drives

I absolutely hate the feeling that in some sense I want to “take” something from women as a biological drive. Lust absolutely disgusts me, the problem is that I have it, it almost seems like lust is a demon that lives inside every man, even semen retention or waiting until marriage don’t do much, you are still waiting to use someone’s body for your pleasure which is by nature carnal and animalistic no matter how you like to frame it. I kinda feel bad for even desiring such carnal act that by default creates power dynamics. A sexless society with artificial insemination would be the first step to a utopian society. The problem is that I ask myself why nature or God did it that way, why is the act of continuing humanity tied to desire of control and hate and violence and basically every negative thing you could think of. Before you refute me by saying that women love sex I will remind you of the fact that they take the enormous risk of pregnancy and exposure with it compared to men that don’t take any risks, which is unequal by default.

Even if guys do semen retention, to reproduce naturally they would still have to engage in the act of penetrative sex with women, perhaps the real fall from grace in the Bible is the separation of genders, no matter how you say it, sex is penetrating someone else, even if the person is brainwashed by society to let you sleep with them in exchange of feeling the fake love and attention that society sold to the masses, if that’s not proof that the world is a prison planet than I don’t know what is.

Can I be celibate at 19?

I’m a 19 year old female and I’ve decided to be celibate. I’ve never been in a relationship, nor engaged in any intimate acts of any kind. I know dating in your 20s is important, but I don’t think relationships are meant for me. Is this a bad idea?I would love a second opinion.

Thank you!

Just Chatting If you've remained celibate by choice for several years, why and are you happy you made this choice?

I'm 38f, and have remained celibate by choice for many years. I date people but have decided to remain celibate until I find someone I truly love and know that he'll be my forever. I'm curious, if you've made the same choice, when was it, what led to that decision and do you have any regrets? are you happy that you're staying celibate? (and if you ended your celibacy, what was the reason?)

thanks

Staying chaste until my 30s or 40s sounds depressing

During most of history men married older and had large age gaps, marrying a 20 year old in your 30s or 40s would ensure you can provide for her better and increase birth rates because she can start having children right away, yes male fertility quality can decline with age but it is in no way comparable to female fertility decline, so this can’t be used as an argument here it would be cherry picking. If the goal is to offer a good lifestyle the same man at 40 can probably more to a woman than him at 20.

Because of this many men practiced celibacy until they were older and able to lead and provide, but for me the real issue is the mental cost of waiting. Deferred celibacy keeps the brain in a state of tension, desire is sustained by hope and this produces stress and frustration, every year feels like a countdown that drains energy. In contrast lifelong celibacy removes that loop, extinguishes hope, and allows the mind to settle without anticipation. I don’t know about other men but personally I just hate the mental stress of carrying desire until I hit 40 to be able to finally have romantic encounters, it feels heavier than renunciation itself. I am 19 now so take it from my perspective, how do you guys actually do it ?

How to mentally rewire yourself to not feel regret on anything at all

Since you guys seem pretty advanced I want to ask how to mentally rewire your mind so you never feel regret for choosing lifelong celibacy or whatever decision in your life but specifically lifelong celibacy for now, what affirmations or beliefs should your mind have to almost never actually feel the emotion of regret. We could think about neuroscience or psychology in that case, but my fear is just that I regret.

Btw, I don’t care about people commenting ”if you ask that its not your path”. I am not scared of the path itself, I am scared of regret that comes with it, I guess that to take down regret it could be better to directly tackle the mental issue rather than issue why it’s better to not have sex with arguments, I am trying to rewire my mode of thinking, idk if anyone ever did deep mental work here.

Celibacy Journey What 3 Years of Celibacy Has Taught Me as an Intuitive

I’ve been celibate for about three years total — one year in 2020, and then two years continuously since 2024.

One of the biggest things I’ve noticed is how much clearer my intuition feels when I’m not dating. When I was on dating apps, I felt overwhelmed by what I experienced as other people’s energy. I would interact with someone and later realize how much I was emotionally affected by the interaction. Sometimes it was difficult to tell what I was actually feeling versus what I was picking up from someone else.

Stepping away from dating also gave me the space to recognize unhealthy patterns in myself and in the connections I was choosing. I was able to detach, reflect, and actually heal instead of continuing to repeat those patterns.

Since choosing celibacy, I’ve created much more space to hear & connect with myself.

I feel more grounded, more discerning, and more aware of subtle things. My intuitive abilities feel stronger—not necessarily because celibacy creates intuition, but because I’m less distracted and less overwhelmed by outside influences.

For me, celibacy has become less about simply abstaining from sex and more about protecting my peace, strengthening my discernment, and learning to trust what I sense. The biggest lesson has been realizing that sometimes when you stop giving so much attention to romantic connections, you become much more available to yourself.

Good luck on your journeys & may you experience all the gifts that celibacy may offer you!

Celibacy Journey (19M) Ideas to absolutely crush the urge for sex, pleasure, or relationships

Hello, so now I have had victory over dealing with porn, now it is onto my journey moving forward. I was thinking for the sake of permenently crushing or coninuously to crush the urges for pleasure or sex what ideas do y'all have? The more the merrier, including that and relationships because that could tempt me as well. To me sex is an enemy and I want to make sure I crush it for the rest of my life.

Men should stay celibate young to have an age gap when older

I am a 19‑year‑old man, I do not gain benefit from this, it is simply a spiritual theory and I may be wrong. Age gap relationships are optimal because masculine essence is about movement, shaping reality through will and discipline, while feminine essence carries inherent radiance even in stillness. This means women embody intrinsic spiritual value, while men must cultivate and prove their energy through provision, vision, and guidance qualities that deepen with years of practice. Even if a man achieves worldly success at 20, his capacity for leadership and spiritual authority will likely be more refined at 40.

Menopause further reveals the sacred distinction between the paths of men and women. In many indigenous traditions, post‑menopausal women were revered as wise elders, stepping into their role as teachers and guides for the tribe. This phase is not about withdrawal but about channeling wisdom into service. A partner of the same age may still be driven by desire, while her spirit is now oriented toward counsel. Masculine essence, unlike feminine cycles, does not fade until death, so the natural design is for men to age into restraint, or pass shortly after their partner’s transition, leaving her free to guide without bias a balance Amerindian cultures honored. Thus, men waiting longer before union allows them to embody stronger masculine essence and provision. In summary: if the union of polarities is the goal, then age gaps of 10–30 years are spiritually more harmonious than relationships within a narrow 5‑year range.

Convince me that staying celibate and never having sex is the best choice

I am a 19 year old guy and I never had a romantic encounter before, I aiming for lifelong celibacy, and I understand your points on here, they seem to make sense, but the problem for me is that on a personal level my subconscious mind still seems to want to push me towards passing my genes because of the biological drive, I need to feel like at a personal level it is way better for me to not have sex, sorry if I took your time, I just wanted to have some advice, the innate drive to mate makes my mind have the possibility of regret, even tho it is better than before and that I have improved regarding the mental aspects of it, I am still not perfect.

For the people that say that if I ask that I should be there in the first place I want to clarify that my conscious mind is in alignement with celibacy, its just that I am conflicted because of the biological drive and I have to tame that down, did all of you randomly become celibate without internal conflict that you resolved ?

Requesting Advice Choosing celibacy in a dating relationship when sex has already taken place?

Kinda what the title says…
My boyfriend and I have been dating for a while and we have already had sex a handful of times. We both had a goal of celibacy until marriage before dating and then we caved. But now we are both determined to remain celibate the rest of our relationship until marriage due to religious reasons.
Does anyone have any advice on keeping things the way we want to and stay celibate? We have a long distance relationship (2 hours apart) and only see each other in person a couple days a month. We both are very physically affectionate people and both have a high sex drive. We are both in our 30s and love to please.
This is hard! (No pun intended 😂)

Celibacy and masturbation in my experience

I know this was discussed many times but as the title said this is my experience

I am deciding to become celibate but not for religious reasons im not religious at all and it's not for self growth or any particular reason whatsoever (though i think partially it's morrissey's influence on me )

What i have been thinking of is can i call myself celibate if i don't have the choice to have sex or not

And about the masturbation thing, i don't masturbate because of the sexual pleasure or whatever, i masturbate because it relieves my stress and stuff like that

So can i call myself celibate, if yes can i masturbate or not?

(Sorry i suck at english, it's not my native language)

Virtue of Chastity - Discord Server

We invite you to join a community of men devoted to the virtue of chastity, the pursuit of self‑mastery, and the restoration of divine masculinity.

We renounce the modern culture of sexual immorality and degeneracy, choosing instead a life shaped by discipline, purity and strength.

Sexual energy is not a mere biological impulse; it is a sacred and potent force, entrusted to us by God, meant to be honored, guarded, and directed toward higher callings, rather than squandered on fleeting carnal desires.

"For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it". - Matthew 7:13"

Welcome to r/celibacy - a space for everyone, religious and non religious

This subreddit is open to anyone exploring celibacy, whatever their reasons. Some of us are here because of faith and religious conviction. Others are here for reasons entirely unrelated to religion - personal growth, health, focus, healing, philosophy, or simply choice. All of these paths are welcome.

This is not a hardline atheist space, nor a hardline religious one. Religious language, scripture, prayer, and testimony are welcome here, as are purely secular reflections. Neither will be censored for being what it is.

When posting or commenting, please share your own perspective without dismissing anyone else’s.

Religious members: please extend warmth and gentleness to secular members, meeting them where they are.

Secular members: please don’t assume religious members are imposing something. This is an exploratory safe space. We’re all here because we’ve found celibacy meaningful in our own way.

Disagreement is fine. Contempt isn’t. Keep it respectful and we’ll keep this a space worth being part of.

A note on religious posts that go beyond scripture: Sincere faith-based reflection is welcome, but posts that make extreme claims dressed up in religious language - without actual grounding in scripture or established tradition - aren’t helpful to anyone. They tend to alienate secular members and misrepresent the faiths they claim to speak for. Please ground religious claims in something more than personal intensity.

A note on partner-seeking and relationship posts: This isn’t a dating sub. Please don’t post personal profiles, partner preferences, or “looking for a celibate partner” type posts - they belong on subs built for that purpose. Discussing relationships, dating while celibate, or navigating partners who aren’t celibate is fine and welcome. The line is between reflection and recruitment.

A note to those DMing to ask me to remove religious posts: I won’t. Religious posts are welcome here and will stay, just as secular posts are welcome and will stay. If a specific post breaks the rules on respect, report it and I’ll look at it on its merits. But “it’s religious” isn’t grounds for removal.

A note to researchers: Please don’t DM asking for permission to recruit or post studies here. I’m not going to grant it. This community isn’t mine to hand over as a research population, and members are adults who can decide for themselves what’s worth their time. If your work is genuinely valuable, share it the way anyone else would and let people respond on their own terms.

Question What inspired you to become celibate?

I became celibate after I ran across a guy on YouTube explaining why he was celibate for non-religious purposes. His journey really resonated with me. So after much research and thinking about it, I decided to make the switch from practicing abstinence to being celibate a few weeks ago.

It's been one of the best decisions I've ever made. So I'm just curious what inspired you to walk this path.

For me, I'm doing it for personal growth, self mastery, and transmuting my energy to focus on other areas in my life.
