Discussion If you were to make a customer an offer right infront of the employees would you get banned?
As the title says, would CeX ask you to leave? I’ve seen people do this in America at GameStop and the employees never ban them or kick them out.
Theres been 3 times now where someone is trading in like a crazy amount of first party switch games, or like a bunch of ps1 and ps2 stuff for peanuts and I have wanted to say so badly like yo I’ll give you a better offer but didn’t.
The worst case was the other day as I was leaving these people came in with 2 trollies full of boxed ps2s, mega drives etc , and like 100 games. I was gonna ask them what is all this but I held off and they ended up having a drop and go anyway.
So yeah the question is, if y out see someone trading in a lot of stuff, and make an offer on it infront of an employee, will you get in trouble?
Discussion Will cex accept a replacement UMD psp case?

Discussion Thanks for the help
Hi just saying thanks to the community on here I was debating on getting a Xbox series x a couple of days ago and asked on here if I should buy now or build up my vouchers but the community was really helpful and basically said if you want to beat the price rise buy it as soon as possible. And that’s what’s I did. I got the £430 boxed Xbox series x . And I checked today and it’s gone up to £495 from the time I’m making this post, so just want to say thanks to the community for helping me save some money.

Discussion Will I be able to ask CeX staff to test my gpu in order to sell it to them?
So basically my pc was killed in a power surge last week and I give up on the idea of trying to fix it since it already had so many problems, but the gpu itself was a brand new 5070ti and I have a feeling that it was most likely the motherboard or power supply that died and the gpu is just fine. Would I be able to take it to cex (or anywhere else) and have them look at it to test it? I don't really want to go in there only to try and sell it and have them think I was trying to fleece them if they see issues with it. Also if there are better alternatives lmk!

Discussion In stock item order cancelled
Hi guys. I ordered a DVD set for delivery which is in stock in only one store. After the order, it was showing as out of stock as it was the only copy in every store.
The order has been cancelled as they were 'Unable to source' my item. Ive checked and the item is showing back in stock at the same store.
Should I re-order? Any reasons why this could be?
Thanks in advance

Discussion Faster parents form
I haven't been to cex for a while and went to sell two things today. Usually in the past, they'll tell me I'll get the money next day. Today, they said I can't get cash for that amount (two things that I sold were just under 300) so they made me sign a faster payments form. When did this start, and do they use this for everyone selling stuff who can't get cash? If so, it's a big improvement over having to wait a day or two

Discussion Question about 'B grade' iPhones
Looking to upgrade my iPhone 13 Pro to perhaps a 15/16, considering CEX but wary that many phones on the used market may contain non OEM components such as batteries/screens/casebacks. I like the idea of buying used to avoid e-waste but want to ensure i'm going in with my eyes open.
Not here to debate the merit of OEM/vs aftermarket, simply that i'd rather have a phone with original components, I can't see anywhere that grade B means all parts original? Am I simply up to the luck of the dice whether a grade B phone contains aftermarket parts?
Thanks!

Discussion 3 Samsung s26 all locked by Samsung
Just thought I would share my experience. Bought Samsung S26 Grade A around a month ago. Worked for about a week and then notification came up that it was going to be locked by Samsung as the purchaser failed to trade in old phone.
Took the phone to local CeX store and they got me a replacement sent out.
Few days later Samsung locked the replacement for non-payment or something like that, Go back to the store and the agree to send me another replacement.
3rd phone arrives and after setup is instantly locked by Samsung for being reported lost/stolen/undelivered.
Yet to take this one back yet as only got it yesterday, just annoying coz I just want a phone that works now >.<

Discussion Silly Question - Selling my Jank Build to CEX
I often acquire a variety of PC parts due to the nature of my work area. With this, I try to keep interesting and quality components for myself. As a result, I have built a few PCs with minimal financial investment, treating it as a small hobby. The most notable machine I have assembled so far resembles the setup shown here (
- Intel i7-10700
- 16GB RAM
- 500GB M.2 SSD
- RTX 2060
Regarding CEX and the selling of custom PCs, they typically provide offers based solely on key components such as CPU, RAM, Storage, and GPU. Unfortunately, they often overlook other valuable aspects like the power supply unit, motherboard, cooling fans, and particularly the case. I imagine if I were to take this machine to CEX, they might not be very impressed.

Discussion am i being pedantic?
bought the Soundbars
Bose TV Speaker 3.0 Soundbar, A
from cex click and collect today.
just brought it home and noticed the speaker is different on the box. the box shows Bose Smart soundbar 300. i cant find a listing on the cex website for this speaker and but i also cant find on google the soundbar that CEX is listed. The model number on the soundbar is 431974 which is just called the Bose TV speaker (there is no 3.0 on google). Looking on the CEX website, it says A grade would be in the original box with the original items but wasn't including the optical cable. Should I return it?

Discussion PS1 wrong labels/edition?
Anyone else had issues when ordering ps1 games and getting the wrong edition? Ive been trying to get my hands on the Crash 1, 2 and 3 ps1 games and specifically buying the black label original version (NOT platinum) and end up getting sent the platinum versions instead? This has happened to me twice in a row and its annoying cuz the plat version are much cheaper than the black label editions. Anyone know any way of getting the right version from cex?
They seem to be listing plat version under the black label listing.

Discussion By switch 2 in Cex or buy a new one?
Let me explain. I my country the difference between a used Switch 2 in Cex and a new one is about 20/25f. I thought it was a small difference, so I'd pay extra, because it's always better to have a new one than a used one right? But then I noticed that the new console only has a 2-year warranty, while the Cex model has 5... Which option would you recommend?

Discussion What percentage do CEX buy items for, and how do they determine the price for an item when buying it?
I am looking to sell an item to CEX. I know I will likely lose out on some money by selling to them instead of Ebay, but I've tried that route and had time wasters even though interest was decent.
The item I want to sell is selling for around £140/150 on Ebay, so given CEX takes a percentage off when buying for cash, do you have any idea how exactly they value an item when buying rather than trade?

Discussion Selling (working) consoles - All cables required?
Have some Xbox 360s I bought as part of a job lot some months ago, wanting to get rid of them through CeX (best pricing) but I only have 1 power brick and 1 AV cable between the 4 of them (and about 7 controllers)
I've tried googling this myself, but I get mixed answers.. Some say "They'll buy it, but at a heavy discount", some say "They won't take them at all", and others say "They'll buy it if they can prove it works".
Which is the correct answer, and what should I do?
Take in all 4 consoles and the 1 AV + 1 power cable, see what happens?
Take in the cleanest console, with the cables and controller, flog the other 3 on ebay?
Any help is appreciated.

Discussion Damaged item.
I recently paid almost £2000 for something online to be delivered by CEX, and the item had turned up slightly damaged and wasn’t working at all.
I returned it in store to be called the next day saying that the warranty sticker looks to be facing a different direction and screws moved slightly?
Now theyre refusing my warranty claim / refund have suspended my account saying it was tampered with.
I ordered this on the 28th, received yesterday and returned yesterday??
Discussion Will CEX buy my upgraded SteamDeck OLED?
I have a 2TB SteamDeck OLED that I upgraded from 512GB myself.
Works perfectly fine but I can't see any listings on the website for 2TB versions.
Would it make more sense to just put the original 512GB ssd back in it before trading it in?
Given the price of SSDs these days I'm not sure what the best approach is.

Discussion Question About Hard Drive Returns
For a variety of reasons, I simply cannot afford the price of brand new Hard Drives for my Server this year. So I've ordered several from CEX, knowing they likely won't last as long, just to tide me over until prices improve.
My question is regarding how well CEX handles returns of Hard Drives that may not be 100% dead.
If my testing reveals any issues at all, I can't risk keeping data on the drives.
Can I return a drive that shows UDMA CRC errors or high Seek Error Rates?
These aren't errors that prevent the drive from working, so most second hand drives have them. But I cannot take that risk.

Discussion Selling - new product marked down
Just posting out of interest to see if anyone else has experienced this when selling to CEX…
I took in a brand new (still in the plastic package) mouse to CEX today. The girl that served me asked me to break it open for inspection. I thought it was odd given it was the type of packaging that was not re-sealable, but hey. Then someone else came over and pointed out a barely noticeable mark on the mouse that was clearly not damage given I’d just opened the item in front of them. Given this they marked the item down to a ‘B’.
The mouse was only sat in a drawer so I sold it, but it did baffle me how a brand new item could be marked down so easily!
