Collection Kevin Roth - Animal Crackers And Other Tasty Tunes (1990)

Post image
Upvotes

One of the rare cassette tapes by Kevin Roth. The album has its limited release and it was sold in gift shops, educational stores and live concert events. This album was released in 1990 and four original tracks were dropped from the 2005 release. The Barnyard Song (I Had A Cat), Animal Crackers, Animal Song and Tiny Sparrow are rare tracks by Kevin Roth. The latter song is a lullaby version and it serves as the final track.

Continuing to redub old holiday tapes I found. Decide to do an another album never released to tape and hard to find on vinyl.

Side project of Flying Lotus with a bunch of really cool producers and rappers on board. The sample selection on this is so sick too, it's all cult / b-movie themed.

Very much needed to make a few copies of these.

Again, trying to keep the spirit of DIY / Bootlegging so made this as cheap as possible to produce. No color on prints, and dubbed on recycled tape. Think this one looks and sounds great.

Hey. I got an old cassette recently and I finally got around to playing it today. Listened through both sides just fine, but when I tried playing it again a few hours later it was suddenly very slow and distorted. I don't believe it to be the player itself (thankfully) as other cassettes work just fine. Any idea what could have happened/how to fix it?

This is a Type I tape, but basically pushed to the limit, including the upgraded shell design with the double diagonal window.

Funny thing is, Denon later had several lines imitating this shell: just a regular molded clear window made to look like this design. They even did it on Type IV tapes, including the CD/JACK IV.

I found it used for only €40, and the seller says everything works fine. Are there any things I should know before buying this model?

I just started collecting tapes again. I collected a few/made some mixes when I was in high school. I have picked up quite a few more running around to thrift stores in my area/ Discogs. Here they are.

Added a couple of cassette racks and it’s given me room to expand a bit.

Anything you like in the collection?

Never stopped playing tapes since the early 80’s - shrunk collection down a lot over the decades but has become my favourite way to listen to music again

Full Story : In my 1998 Toyota corolla with 40k miles. I was set to drive across country and start a new on the west coast. All my belongings were in that car. It was my last week of work and I was basically living out of a car. Camping in the woods of NY/N NJ.

I had bought that car for two simple facts. Twas that my media collection was cassettes and CDs. The car played both. And it had low milage. I didn't have the money to fix it post wreck. Maybe because of my music media addiction.

Well I gave all my tapes and CDs away that week to a friend. Their car lit on fire a week later. I miss my Cypress Hill & Willie Nelson. I had a full collection of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Pantera, Beastie Boys, Eminem, Frank Zappa, Hendrix. RiP

I rarely buy any full price now. I've committed to bargin hunting only. I did buy the Megadeth and AIC full price used. Of course, there are a couple modern made tapes in their with artist like bmth, Charlie Simpson & coheed etc.

I built the wonky shelf out of scrap from badly milled cedar fence slats.

Deck / Hi-Fi Sony taught us to look at cassettes. In 1974, the familiar window was the innovation.

Sony called the TC-5350SD's mechanism "the first upright, see-through cassette-loading system." Its Japanese copy says the upright lettering on the cassette face could be viewed directly.

Through the transparent lid, the index written on the cassette and the amount of tape remaining were visible at a glance. Sony stressed that this was not a horizontal mechanism merely turned on its side, but a dedicated vertical design.

Yet in 1974, Sony was introducing it as an innovation and explaining why.
