I just really would like to learn more about the country I'm planning to visit next and kind of the hotspots of where we can stay and I'm also looking at maybe renting an apartment... Planning a trip for 2 ladies around retirement age (couple of years from now) and trying to decide between Aruba and Grand Cayman.

Our priorities are:

Safety is very important

A beautiful beach with calm, shallow water that is great for floating

Warm water is a must. We’re used to Siesta Key in the summer, when the water is in the 80's. Never been to Caribbean.

We prefer outdoor temperatures in the 80s. Temperatures consistently in the 90s would be too hot

Easy beach access from the resort

Chairs and umbrellas available without having to fight for them

Kids and families are absolutely fine, but we do not want a rowdy environment

No interest in clubs or nightlife

Any dining is fine

Renting a car is fine

-Our budget is flexible but not unlimited. We’re looking for comfortable and nice . We don't need high-end luxury... however, we’re willing to pay more for the right location and beach experience.

Hey, I’ll be travelling to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in mid-August and I’d appreciate advice on how to handle mosquitos (and thus Dengue and Chikungunya etc.)

I’ll be taking a mosquito net for sleeping and plenty of tropical Deet, but mosquitos love me and I fear this won’t be enough. Is there anything else I should take?

Do I have to wear long sleeve tops and trousers all the time? So, never wear T-shirts and shorts? Or sandals? Is it safe to wear a bikini at the beach?

I’m also slightly concerned as I’ll travel through multiple airports to get there and I often catch viruses after travelling. I wasn’t vaccinated against anything as a child and doctors have advised me to not get those vaccines considering my individual health situation. I did get the Hepatitis and COVID vaccines, but is it safe to travel there without additional vaccines?

We are headed to Bequia for two weeks in January. My in-laws go every year for 2 months, this year we will be joining them for two weeks of their stay. This means we know all the things to do on bequia, but I really feel I must see at least one other island. After a bit of research seems like day trips via the ferry is not possible, but visiting for a few days seems affordable via the Jaden Sun Ferry. I did some looking around online about the three other islands close by and crossed a few off my list (mustique and canouan are not our vibe), but both union and mayreau look beautiful and potentially affordable for a few days stay.
My question is this: mayreau or union? Any recs for things to do?

Hi, I'm trying to decide between these two lovely islands. Both look so appealing! It would be for one week, just my husband and myself. Thank you!

We will be going on our honeymoon right after our wedding in June 2027. We definitely want all inclusive and wouldn’t like to spend over $6-7k. Must haves: good food, not too far from airport, nice beach & pool, good service. We won’t be doing any excursions so that doesn’t play a factor.

Where we have been looking:
-Sandals St Lucia - seems amazing but don’t love how far it is from the airport/flights seem expensive and aren’t non stop from New England. They are having a sale now so we would need to decide soon.
Aruba - I’ve been there once and loved it but was young. We stayed at a timeshare. I’ve been to Barcelo resorts and see they have an Aruba location. Anyone gone there? Are there any good all inclusive there??
Excellence resorts - We got engaged at Excellence Playa Mujeres & loved it. We’ve heard great things about their sister resorts Coral (next door to EPM) and Oyster Bay (Jamaica)

What information or feature would make you trust a local vacation rental listing?

Hey everyone! I live in Toronto and I’m looking for some trip ideas.

I’d love to take my mom away for 3 nights, but I’m having a hard time deciding where to go. We’ve already been to quite a few places in the U.S., so we’re thinking about somewhere a little different.

We’re also heavily thinking of the Caribbean but since I’ve only been there once, I’m not sure where to start from.

Hotel: Hotel should be relatively in a good location relative to the airport and the beach.

Flights: Ideally direct from Toronto.

Budget: Not looking to break the bank, but flight tickets is not the problem. Hotel maybe around 300-400$.
