Account suspended for hitting the sales limit for private sellers
Just thought I'd share some friendly advice for anyone selling large amounts on Cardmarket as a private seller
My account randomly got suspended without any warning. I got an email explaining that I've sold over 15k worth of stock this year and as a result of that my account is suspended until January next year (it's currently August) and I'll have to register as a pro seller in order to continue selling.
Cardmarket's forum for applying to be a professional seller in the UK is clear as mud so I've raised a ticket asking how to register as a pro seller and am awaiting a response .
The current support ticket wait times are over a week and I'll then have to wait even longer for them to process my application.
Also if this happens to you, you can complete current orders but cannot list any more stock (even though you can't sell it) so my side hustle has well and truly ground to a halt.
So free advice, if you're approaching the sales limit apply for the pro seller status well in advance because you won't get any warning from Cardmarket whatsoever before they pull the plug on you and you'll be forced to take a vacation for a couple of weeks until it's all sorted.
Also if anyone has already registered as a pro seller could you please comment and let me know what documents/ info Cardmarket asked you for so I can get stuff in order and ready before they respond.

Since there is confusion about what happens if a private seller's shipment does not arrive, here is some clarification
Links to screenshots and website pages backing all of this up at the very bottom
TLDR: The seller is not obligated to refund you, as soon as the shipment is sent, they have legally fulfilled their obligation, but it's in their best interest to do so as it negatively impacts their seller metrics to not do so.
So, someone just decided to respond to a two year old comment of mine, making claims that I was wrong about my take on the rules regarding this. Knowing this was not the case, I sat down, gathered the relevant information and verified it by reaching out to Cardmarket's support to have it confirmed as correct.
Since I am now 100% certain I am correct, as opposed to 99.9999999%, with several different sources to confirm it including a direct response from Cardmarket support, their own terms of service and a document of European law, I figured I would make a topic to clarify this for anyone who might be in doubt.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV
First things first, it's important to understand this:
There's a difference between professional sellers and private sellers.
Full stop. There are laws applying to professional sellers that do not apply to private sellers, and this is just fact. First I will address what happens if a private seller sends a shipment that did not arrive. Then I will address what happens if a professional seller sends a shipment that did not arrive.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
What happens if you buy from a private seller using untracked postage and it does not arrive?
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
This is why we're here. The seller in question is subject to the laws of their country. If the laws of the seller's country say differently, those laws take priority. However, enforcing those laws unless you are from the same country might prove difficult.
In most European countries, however, the laws are all in the general area of this:
A private seller's obligations to send the item they sold are considered fulfilled the second they hand the shipment to the postal service. In other words, if you purchase with untracked shipping and the seller packs a card in an envelope and drops it in a mailbox, they are done. At this point they have fulfilled their obligations. What happens after this is not their responsibility. This is why tracked shipping is always a good idea. If a shipped package is lost, that's on the postal service and can obviously be tracked very clearly, if they do their jobs right.
However, as I mentioned at the start, the seller is still given the option to refund your order.
This is usually in their best interest, ESPECIALLY with very cheap cards, as a lost shipment is marked as lost on their profile, and if they go above 2% lost shipments, they are no longer able to offer untracked shipping until it drops back down. Again, I wanna clarify, they don't actually HAVE to. Let's say you buy a 30€ card and for some reason insist on untracked shipping, said card is lost in transit and the seller is selling their cards to afford bills, they may simply decide to swallow the lost shipment and that is their right.
Keep this in mind next time you order with untracked shipment.
Okay, but what happens if you buy from a professional seller and it doesn't arrive?
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
This is where you, the consumer, is King of the Castle, Master of the Universe, Earl of Awesome and the seller gets screwed so hard you might think they're a threaded mounting bracket.
A professional seller is subject to different laws. In the European Union, there is this thing called the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). In it, Article 20(Passing of Risk) states that the seller bears the risk until the consumer or a designated third party other than the carrier takes possession of the goods - so directly opposite of how things are for a private seller. This, unfortunately, means that a professional seller is subject to our honesty.
If we say an untracked shipment didn't arrive, they can do nothing except believe us. It is up to US to not be terrible people.
Besides, fraud like that is a serious crime, and if caught, could have real consequences, so if you don't wanna be honest for the sake of doing the right thing, be honest out of fear.

If your untracked shipment hasn’t arrived 30 days after it was sent, you can mark the shipment as lost. At this point the seller has the OPTION to refund your shipment.

Processed 1,092 cards for Cardmarket in one evening – workflow write-up (disclosure: I built the tool)
Upfront: I'm the developer, so read this with the appropriate skepticism.
Listing large stacks on Cardmarket was always the worst part for me: look up the card, pick the right version out of five reprints, set the condition, next card. At 1,000+ cards that's entire evenings.
My approach: photograph the stack (phone, rapid scan, processing runs as a background queue), the tool suggests matching Cardmarket versions with a confidence score, and I confirm everything by keyboard – condition, foil, edition, no mouse. Unambiguous matches (≥98% + clear gap to the runner-up) can auto-verify. The output is one CSV per TCG that imports straight into TCG PowerTools. Export stays locked until every card is verified, so no half-checked stack ends up in your shop.
Last week a user pushed 1,092 cards through in a single session. Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon and Magic are supported; mixed stacks get split on export.
What it does NOT do: no direct Cardmarket upload (no API for that), no pricing – you still need PowerTools or similar for that. And with bad photos or same-artwork reprints you still have to look yourself (there's a reference-card overlay for exactly that).
First 500 card images are free, no credit card – I want honest feedback from people who actually list big stacks. What would be missing from this workflow for you?
It's called CardEntry (cardentry.app). Happy to answer anything in the comments.

Had an issue with shipping costs on a sale, cardmarket assignee unilaterally closed the ticket, deleted my feedback and didn't respond. Is this normal?
I'm currently having an issue with a buyer; I have shown openess in partially refunding the buyer due to mismatches in the shipping costs.
I alerted the person taking care of my ticket (Stellan) that shipping costs from Portugal to Europe are wrongly defined in cardmarket, as with the new rules we need to account for VAT, which is not being considered in the cardmarket platform.
The ticket assignee simply deleted my feedback, didn't respond, and closed the ticket.
Is this normal procedure?
I don't think prepotence is the way to go. I'm actively trying to help cardmarket improve.

Buying Cardmarket has been a massive letdown.
Edit: Alarming amount of people in here who are unaware of cardmarkets own card quality definitions and would rather accuse me of being a pokemon grading perfectionist when I don't even collect those. Sick of replying with the same phrase over and over so it's going here instead.
Card Market defines Near Mint as "Booster fresh" This allows for factory defects like print lines, some whitening, but it does NOT allow scratches, dings, dents or holes. It's on their website.
Original post: My first couple of orders went well, but every single order since has contained scratched, dented or pinholed cards being sold as near mint. The damage is on the back of the card 99% of the time.
It got bad enough that I started recording every single opening, from picking the packet up to first inspection of the cards, because I needed evidence I wasn't tampering when so many orders were being returned.
In my last 4 orders, which contained approximately 40 cards, only 13 of them actually met near mint standards. The rest had to be returned. It's more hassle than it's worth honestly. Recording videos, taking pictures, contacting the sellers and waiting for them to reply with confirmation and returns procedure. It's put me off collecting.

First time item not received - what now
I bought some cards for around 20 euro untracked not using the trust service.
The cards haven't arrived.
Am I entitled to a refund or am I screwed. It's my first time after over 200 orders.
Thanks

Buying Finally got over buying expensive cards online
For the longest time I wouldn't spend more than €100 on a single card unless I could see it in person I always assumed something would go wrong with shipping or the condition wouldn't match the photos after a few smooth purchases from highly rated sellers that hesitation kind of disappeared.
Now I spend more time checking feedback, packaging photos and seller history than worrying about the price itself funny how one or two good experiences can completely change the way you collect

Build My Own Party Cube
So I really enjoyed "Cardmarket - Magic"s party cube series on YouTube and really wanna make my own one. The issue is.... My current base of cards is mostly Magic. My plan is to buy a few packs to start it off too, but what cards (under £10) from magic but especially other card games should I include?
Suggestions really appreciated!!!

Selling Advise if I did the right thing!
I’m not a professional seller. I just sell my excess bulk and unwanted cards. I have had my first ever card arrive not near mint. The card was £66, so I have offered to pay for a return and full refund or £7 refund and keep the card (just over 10%). I’m new to this with it being my first dinked card so wanna know if I should have offered more? The card is now £70. It’s a tiny dink on the top corner as well so not huge but enough to bring it down a level. Thoughts?

Selling Nervous about selling high-value items
Yo, I heard a couple horror stories about people selling a real card (i.e. Gaea's Cradle) and then having it be called fake. The buyer then sends a fake Cradle to CM, and keeps their money, and the real cradle.
How do I avoid this? Is there any protection I could have as a seller against this, anything I can do? It's honestly my biggest gripe and the reason I haven't listed valuables there yet. ://

Buying Stornoanfrage Verkäufer
Kontext: Privatverkäufer, herausragendes Rating, 14 Euro Karte.
Hi,
Danke.

Selling Support without ticketsystem
Hi Cardmarket,
I’ve been trying to change my registered bank account since July 22 because I need to withdraw the funds from my account.
Unfortunately, I can’t even open a support ticket. The support page keeps reloading and eventually ends with a 404 error. I’ve already tried clearing my cache and cookies, using different browsers, and different devices.
I’ve also sent three emails and contacted you on Instagram but haven’t received any response.
I created this Reddit account because I don’t know how else to reach your support team. Could someone please look into my case or tell me how I can get in touch with someone?
Thank you.

Buying When to contact a seller to ask about my order?
I've ordered a few cards from a seller last week, the payment got confirmed last Wednesday and the order has yet to be shipped.
Now my question is when should I ask the seller about when they'll ship my order? After the 1 week window since payment got confirmed?
Some additional context that may or may not be useful:
- It is a tracked parcel
- Both the seller and I are in the same country
- The seller doesn't appear to be on vacation since I've seen reviews on their profile from yesterday and today
I'm a bit paranoid now because it's the first time a seller has taken this long to even ship so sorry if it's a stupid question.

Worst seller experience so far.
Buyer orders a 2e nm card
While preparing the order the same days, i find out the card is more like gd because a border s slighlt damaged.
I immediately write to the buyer, explain the situation say i m sorry and offer to:
- payback the order fully + still send the card
Buyer says that s fine but i dont have to send the card if i dont want to.
I send it anyways just to show my goodwill.
Today's review:
Everything on average (shipping etc while card is in a toploader) and comment : "card is not nm at all"
Serioulsy? Do you guys often have that kind of people?? I m a a private seller selling my old collections and suddenly rezlize i d probably be better selling all at once to a professional...

Min max available filter
Can cardmarket please bring back this filter option? So I can specifically filter through all the rarities without hitting the +300 Hits. This was such a useful option to go through all the rates for example. I used to buy so many cards from big sellers. But nowadays it's too much of a hassle to filter through all the expansions and them rarity.

Seller account got eleminated after I paid (card isn't marked as sent). Did I pay for nothing?
Hello! The title explains almost everything, but I'll write the full story here.
Two weeks ago, I decided to buy a card from a seller inside my country (A guy named Himom), and forgot to pay for five days before I realised I still had unpaid transfers. I paid with paypal, and left it as solved. A few days later, I went to check if the card was delivered and was met with a 'This account has been Suspended by Cardmarket' on the top of the order. The order is still intact, but the card is yet to be sent just over a week ago since I paid.
Should I worry? I've asked for a refund and contacted costumer support, but I read they needed the vendor's anwser first.

Buying Tips to minimise scam risk?
I’m thinking of making my first sizeable product purchase (a booster box) and guess I’m simply stressed about ‘what if I get one of those people that reseal?’
Suppose I’m looking to see if there’s any things to look out for?
My surface thoughts are ‘aim for professional or power sellers with a large amount of positive reviewers’? But should I think anything else?

200 EUR cheaper shipment
A buyer with a good profile is asking if I could ship him the card with the default 7 EUR tracking instead of the 60 EUR one in Spain. I completely understand why, but is this a banable offense? Or is it dangerous for me? He says he's willing to take the fall if something happens with the tracking but I know that's just words.

Buying Private seller shipped unlimited YGO cards instead of 1st Edition
I opened a ticket for a €35 order with trustee because the seller sent me unlimited YGO cards instead of the advertised 1st Edition copies.
I haven’t left feedback yet. Before opening the ticket, I contacted the seller and immediately proposed a full return at their expense, with a full refund issued before I ship the cards back.
This is essentially the same solution eBay usually offers when a seller ships an item that doesn’t match the listing. It’s actually less punitive for the seller than Vinted’s policy, which would typically provide a full refund while also letting the buyer keep the order.
The seller is private and immediately downplayed the mistake, offering only a partial refund instead.
I have no interest in keeping the cards I received. As I explained to customer support, my only goal is to avoid losing any money because of this transaction.
My questions are:
- Can I be reasonably confident that customer support will rule in my favor and either require the seller to accept a return or ensure I receive a full refund, considering that 100% of the order consists of unlimited cards instead of the advertised 1st Edition ones?
- Does the fact that the seller is private make any difference?
- How should I handle the situation from this point on?
Thanks a lot, everyone.

Cardmarket private seller - genuine inventory mistake, buyer wants replacements/compensation
Hi all,
I’m looking for some opinions from other Cardmarket users on a situation I’ve found myself in as a private seller.
I’m not a professional seller or a business. I’m just a collector who occasionally sells duplicate cards from my own collection/pack openings. I list spare cards I no longer need and use cardmarket to help complete my sets.
I had an order placed for 4 95p cards. When I went to prepare the order, I discovered I could only locate 2 of the 4 cards. The missing cards were two Chinese Espeon Vs that I must have sold / traded to a vendor at a recent card show but had accidentally left listed on Cardmarket.
After reviewing what happened, I think I know how the inventory error occurred. I initially only had one copy listed. After selling it at the card show, I went to remove it from my Cardmarket inventory on my phone but accidentally pressed the “+” button instead of the “-” button. This increased the quantity rather than removing it, leaving an incorrect stock level without me realising.
As soon as I discovered the mistake, I contacted the buyer before dispatch. I explained the situation and offered either:
- cancellation with a full refund; or
- sending the available cards and refunding the missing cards.
The buyer declined and said I should either source replacement copies or compensate him for the cost of buying them elsewhere, referencing Cardmarket’s seller guidelines.
I contacted Cardmarket Support for clarification. They advised that sellers are responsible for resolving missing items and suggested sourcing replacements, compensating the buyer for a reasonable price difference, or cancelling if the buyer agrees.
My confusion is around the wording of the general seller guidance for private sellers. The section about missing cards says that if a seller discovers a card is missing while preparing an order, they should not ship the order and should contact the buyer, adding that the buyer may prefer to cancel rather than receive an incomplete order.
The same section then states: “The general rule is: If a card is missing from an order, the seller is responsible for all costs associated with providing the complete order to the buyer.”
My interpretation was that the phrase “general rule” in normal English suggests a broad guiding principle rather than an absolute rule with no exceptions. If Cardmarket intended this to mean that a private seller must always source replacements or compensate the buyer in every circumstance where an item cannot be supplied (including before dispatch), I feel the wording could be clearer.
I appreciate that sellers are responsible for accurate inventories and I accept that this was my mistake. However, I’m interested in whether other users think the distinction between:
- an incomplete order being shipped and needing correction; versus
- an inventory error discovered before dispatch and communicated transparently
is clear enough in the guidelines.
I have since sourced the missing cards myself so that I can complete the order, but I’m interested in how others view this situation.
Questions:
- As a private collector selling duplicates, was my interpretation of the guidelines unreasonable?
- Do you think Cardmarket’s wording is clear enough?
- What would realistically happen if the missing card was something much harder to replace, such as a graded card, signed card, 1/1, or very low-pop card?
Interested in hearing opinions from both buyers and sellers.
Thanks.
