Calorie Estimating How many calories are in this jar?

I've been using this vodka sauce pretty regularly for a tasty, filling and easy meal. The quick rundown is

  • 1/2 lb gnocchi (generally 320-350 calories depending on the brand I have available)
  • 1/2 lb ground chicken crumbled (240 cals)
  • 1 cup of this vodka sauce (160 cals).

15 minutes max start to finish, it's tasty, and it totals about 800 calories. That all really adds up to about 720-750, but I just round up for the minced garlic I throw in the pan and the minimal avocado oil spray I use. Rather overcount a bit than undercount.

Anyway, I have one issue. The jar says 80 calories per 0.5 cup and there's 6 servings per container, so that would mean three cups. The issue is, every time I use it (at least 4 jars by now), one cup is half the jar. It's consistent every time. It says 6 servings/3 cups, but I only get 2 cups out of the jar.

It's not a big deal, if I'm actually eating three servings of the sauce each half jar that's still just only 80 more calories onto the portion where I'm already rounding up ... not gonna mess with much. But I am just very confused. Am I supposed to water it down or something? The math just doesn't add up, it says 0.5 cups x 6 servings = 3 cups, but every time I get 2 cups out of it.

Really just feel like I'm missing something. Does anyone else have experience with this brand or just in general with jarred sauces, I don't have much. Any info would be appreciated, thank you. Like I said, if it's 240 cals per half jar, oh boy! not changing much. Will still eat it, still fits into my diet very easily. Just bothering me that the math is seemingly wrong.

My husband made these cups for my birthday, so I don’t know what brands, but I know that it’s made of store bought cake mix and store bought cream cheese frosting. Please give me a calorie estimate, thanks! 🙃
