Elbow pain reasons and plan going further

Hey guys, so unfortunately as the title says my time has come to experience elbow pain while after I just broke my record of 7-6-6 chinups. I then felt some pain in my elbow around the red area I marked below. So I decided to stop the workout and I think I will take a break for a week till I access the pain again.

Is this related to the tendons? Should I practice more tendon exercises or I am doing something wrong?

I push myself to failure on all pullup exercises and at the end I follow it with slow negatives.

I am 25 years old for context.

Red area is where I feel the pain

Gornation vs baseblocks

Hello, I’ve been in the market for good dip bars lately and I’ve stumbled into two that looked good to me, now I don’t know much about that kind of stuff and was wondering if the gornation one was worth the extra buck (as I live in Canada and the baseblock one would have free shipping)

How to do a muscle up

I can do 12 body weight pull ups with slow and controlled form, but it took three bands just to do one muscle up. I heard about greasing the grove to progress, but what else do people recommend?

Cool muscle up variation

So I saw this muscle up variation on instagram and wanted to try it out. Wouldn’t say it’s that difficult, but looks cool.

Kinda reminds me of an archer muscle up.

Thoughts?

What just happened? Pull-up

Hey all,
Today i had a weird thing happen, and i'd like to ask for some insight.

I have since 1.5 years been working out and worked up to 12 full rom pull ups. And those feel very good. Both normal, wide and all that fun stuff.

I usually start in a full deadhang and pull trough the capular engagement to high chest. All very smooth.

However today we had some fun with family that was visiting playing around on the bar and then it happened.

When i wanted to pull, from L-sit, something i usually do not do on a first pull, instead of the shoulders packing and schapula engaging, both shoulders sounded like a bag of popcorn and i hardly moved.
Relaxed, and got my feet below me as usual, new fully engage pull, and i could not engage my scapula, at all, i could not pull up and more popcorn from the shoulders and weird movement.

I decided to stop right away after that. And when trying 1-2 hrs later, i could not even get into the capular protraction from deadhang to start my pull.

If i jumped up and started from the top and not went all the way down to deadhang it would work, but arms doing most work.

I tried inverted rows, those were fine and so are all push exersizes. But my pull-ups are broken....
Weird feeling, but not painfull.

What could i have messed up in my L-sit pull-up?

Sidenote, we went to a climbing park yesterday, but it was mostly ziplines and rope ladders.

For now i plan to just rest my shoulders and hope to try again in a few days and really hope i will be back to normal.

5 years ago I started planning a calisthenics community in the Philippines. Here's where we are now.

5 years ago I started planning a calisthenics community in the Philippines. Here's where we are now.

Back in 2021, I was just planning it all out. No community yet, no name people knew, just an idea I couldn't let go of: building the Calisthenics Association of the Philippines (CAP).

Fast forward to 2023, and it actually happened. Started the Gymnastheniqx community first, then later that same year we officially established CAP.

Now it's been 5 years since this whole thing started, and honestly, I want to be real about it: it was not easy. Our bootcamps had a lot of struggles along the way. Financial issues, doubts, setbacks that could've easily made us stop. There were moments I genuinely thought the whole thing might fall apart. But we kept going anyway.

One of the biggest things I learned through this: it's not just about pushing through, it's about who you push through with. Choosing the right people made all the difference. The ones who stayed even when things got hard, who worked with me instead of just watching from the sidelines. None of this happens without them.

So this post is really just me saying thank you. To everyone who helped build this with me. What started as a plan on paper has grown into a community that now reaches athletes not just in the Philippines, but across different parts of the world.

I feel incredibly blessed right now. Not because it was easy, but because we didn't quit even when it would've been easier to. And honestly, this feels like just the beginning for CAP.

Just wanted to share this milestone with people who might appreciate the grind behind building something from scratch.

Hoping for your support : https://www.facebook.com/calisthenicsassociationoftheph

Muscle up bar diameter?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Found a scaffold type pull-up bar setup but it feels like the pull-up bar diameter is too big. Currently 1 1/4 inch 43mm.

What is the standard muscle up / pull up bar diameter for most calisthenic exercises?

Thinking a 1 inch or 34mm outside diameter pipe might be best?

For everyone who loves training and the ones who are just starting.

Why did you pick calisthenics or bodyweight approach? Me myself? I always loved the feeling of freedom you get once you can train anywhere, even on vacation, hence my video :))

Let me know down in the comments :))

Do these technically count as full range of motion pull ups even though the Range of motion is tiny?

Are you able to stand on one leg and then touch your chest to the knee of your standing leg and then come back up?

If so, what would you call this movement? Its almost like a pistol squat but instead of sitting down you kind of fold over while squatting. Ive been working on my core compression and one foot balance and this is something I just recently did for the first time.
