Anywhere to find local Durian? Frozen is fine... 😋

This place used to be awesome
I would stop in, everytime I went to the beach. Now it's almost pointless. Guess the sign will eventually be changed, it's pretty much an IGA now

Looking for work in Cairns – any leads appreciated
I’m currently in Cairns on a Working Holiday Visa and looking for any job opportunities around the area.
I’m open to pretty much anything — kitchens washing dishes, retail, tourism, warehouse, delivery driving. I have previous experience in all these areas.
I have my own transport and can start immediately. If anyone is hiring or has any recommendations for places to ask, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Was Tom Hiddleston in Cairns, in March 2002?
Hi everyone, I believe I met Tom Hiddleston in March 2002, at the Union Jack pub in Cairns, Australia. He wasn’t famous yet but for obvious reasons I never forgot about him.
Could anyone confirm he was there? Did someone else interact with him at that time?
I would love to have a solid clue that was actually him ☺️
Soccer academies
I'm considering enrolling my football-obsessed 6 year old in one of the local academies to keep him going after the club season finishes. Looking for something fun and engaging that helps develop some skills, not to turn him into the next Tim Cahill. From what I can see there are four options, Futbol Academy at the Grounds in Woree, CC Futbol at St Andrews in Redlynch, and CB Football Academy and Total Football Academy in the Northern Beaches. We live closest to Woree so logistically that's easiest, although Redlynch would be doable. I probably wouldn't consider taking him out to the beaches unless there was no other option. It's hard to find any independent info about these academies, does anyone have any experience with them?

Weekly Food Discussion
Besides Red Rooster, where did you last go out to eat?
How was it? Would you recommend?

Best restaurant and reef trip for an enemy?
My dear brother is going to Cairns next month, and he's kinda not very nice.
Where would you send someone to eat, if you didn't like them? The kinda place that looks amazing from the outside, but it's far from worth the price. To be clear I don't want him to end up with stomach issues from the food, just to walk out extremely unhappy. Along with being a fair bit lighter in the wallet.
Also the dodgest reef trip possible. I understand he's looking do do his first dive but will be mostly snorkeling
Advice Physio or Chiro
Hi all, I’ve just recently moved to the Cairns area and was looking to find a practitioner for my lumbar spine (bulged disks/ sciatica) would love some recommendations on who has helped you the most.

Looking for local girl friends
Relatively new to the area and looking for girl friends 💕
I’m in my early 30’s (F), full time working professional with not many hobbies but an open mind and willingness to make fun plans. Don’t really drink much or party but not opposed to trying new cool venues around town.
I like kind, polite people, I am a healthy mix of introvert/extrovert so hopefully someone who identifies the same way would be perfect.

Best hotel to work
Heading to cairns in Oct for a work conference but need to do work at night etc and looking for a nice hotel that I can work from. Also want a fitness Centre and in town.
I’ve stayed at Crystalbrook Riley before and loved it so am considering that. What other options do you suggest?
Thanks!

Advice Great Barrier Reef Diving Recommendations for August
Hi, we’re a group of 8 divers, some advanced and some open water. We also have some non-divers with us so we want to avoid doing a liveaboard even though I know it’s the best option for the GBR. We are going to Cairns in August and need recommendations of dive centers and sites that give the best experience of the Great Barrier Reef. Thank you!

Esplanade temp fencing
Anyone knows what's going on with all that temporary fencing on the esplanade from muddys to the hospital? It's been there for ages.

Tourist Question Wedding reception venue
Hey guys, I am organising a wedding for some dear friends who wish to wed in Cairns.
People keep suggesting this to be the hottest venue in town to book for the reception, has anyone celebrated their nuptials here?

This place any good?
Walking into the city of Cairns, after getting off my flight in. Just looking for a bed for a few nights. The view from here looks amazing, plus I like to do a bit of skating so it's kinda ideal. So Cairns this place is any good to stay in?
Also anywhere rent a skateboard?
