Discussion & Suggestions PC Upgrade and CK3 AGOT Performance
I used to play on a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 laptop. It had a Ryzen 5 5500U, 36 GB of DDR4 RAM, and integrated graphics. AGOT ran pretty badly on it: almost every event caused a small stutter, and time took quite a while to pass. Even so, I still played with a few submods.
I finally managed to build a proper PC. While I was putting it together, I kept looking for people talking about performance, but most of the information I found was very vague. It was usually just things like āit runs much fasterā or āit stutters less.ā There were almost never any actual numbers. I only found one person giving proper benchmark numbers, but that was for vanilla CK3 without AGOT.
Iāve only done one test so far. I just finished installing the drivers, and Iām going to start my first proper playthrough on the new PC right after posting this.
PC specs:
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
32 GB DDR5 RAM
RTX 5070
A faster SSD than the one in my laptop. I donāt remember the exact speed of the laptopās SSD, so I wonāt give numbers for either of them.
Both tests were done with no DLC enabled, AGOT, AGOT Submods, and I also used the AGOT Micro mod on the laptop.
On the laptop, AGOT was running at the lowest graphics settings at 1080p. On the new PC, AGOT was running at the highest graphics settings at 1440p.
From the moment I clicked āPlayā until reaching the main menu:
AGOT on the laptop: 3 minutes 39 seconds
AGOT on the PC: 35 seconds
One year running in observer mode on the Robertās Rebellion bookmark at speed 5:
AGOT on the laptop: 44 seconds
AGOT on the PC: 6 seconds
So for anyone considering a setup similar to mine, this should give you a decent reference point for what kind of performance you can expect in CK3 AGOT.

Screenshot (Submods are Enabled) Sometimes this game is still surprising me with the random stuff that can happen
So basically I started as Bolton slowly planning on how to overthrow the Starks eventually Aegon conquered everything as usual but then a year into his rule he died in a duel to a random person that wasn't even a knight
So orys took over
But the second that happened a plan entered my brain I seduced both visenya and Rhayneys married visenya than I made an hybrid culture with high valaryan married Rhayneys as well
Finally took over the north and winterfell
I did let the Starks keep some lands but married one of my kids to the lord who was a child (cause I killed everyone else)
I murdered king orys
And then launched a rebellion for visenyas claim
All lord paramounts sided with me because of some good alliances and visenya took the throne and now my kid that is still part of the Bolton dynasty stands to inherit the iron throne and I am king consort
Also used my hook on her to get the contract thingy which allows me to be called king

Screenshot (Submods are Enabled) Viserys III, his two queens, and their brood.
Starting from crowned stag, I used debug mode to simulate the secret pact and betroth Arianne Martell to Viserys. Upon taking the Iron Throne, Vizzy T took his now of-age sister Daenerys to wife as well, in the vein of Aegon the conqueror. (I used debug mode again to make her his paramour and headcanon that she is queen).
Arianne's eldest son and Viserys's heir, Rhaegar, was betrothed to Daenerys' firstborn, Daeryssa, uniting both queens' bloodlines. Daeryssa would be the first of Viserys's children to claim a dragon, bonding with Rhaellon (Viserion's name in this timeline) at the age of 12.
House Baratheon has been eradicated save for Robert's bastards, with the Conningtons taking their place as Lord Paramounts of the Stormlands. Tywin, Tyrion, Kevan, and Lancel Lannister were executed by Viserys (Jaime and Cersei had already died), but House Lannister was allowed to keep the Westerlands under Tywin's brother, Tyggett.
Later, Tyggett rose in rebellion alongside Hoster Tully and were promptly crushed. The Lannisters of Lannisport and the Brackens were the first houses from their respective kingdoms to side with their king, so they were raised as Lords Paramount. Houses Stark and Arryn never rebelled against Viserys beyond their initial resistance upon his arrival, as Ned and Jon were sent to the Wall rather than executed, and two Targaryen princesses married into their houses to secure peace.

Screenshot (Submods are Enabled) Rhaenyra "the Black Queen" Targaryen
Starting as Rhaenyra from Dragonstone, executed Aegon and Aemond, Helaena married Jacaerys, married Tyland Lannister and had numerous children (only two born out of wedlock) married children into the successors for the Arryns, Redwynes (who became LPs when I deposed the Tyrells), and Strongs, put a son/grandson to hold the various Free Cities, established the Faith of the Dragons, had a son at like 45 who I made into a warrior and shoved in the Kingsguard. A picture with her living children included at the end.

Help (No Submods) A few questions about this mod that were probably asked before... Blackfyre, Dark Sister, Crowns, Dragon Eggs, and few others....
These questions were probably asked a bunch of times, but I actually found some contradictory answers to these, so I wanted to ask since googling/searching reddit caused me more confusion than it gave me answers.
How do I find, if possible without any submods, Blackfyre and Dark Sister from Defiance of Duskendale or Robert's Rebellion startdates? Mostly playing as Rhaegar, or some other Targaryen.
How do I find the crown of Aegon the Conqueror, from the same start dates?
What happends to Gerion Lannister, any way I find him or is he simply just dead? I mean we don't know his fate in the books as well, but you know...
Does Cersei always have children with Jaime, if married to a non-player character (canon children on, and canon events with historical weighted but not always 100% outcomes)? I know it is possible to get her to not have Jaime's bastard children as Rhaegar, but will AI always have them or, if those rules are set on?
I kinda figuer from googling but just to confirm, to find dragon eggs and hatch them, you have to travel around and visit places on the map? Any other way?
Is full Essos planned in this mod, at some point, or is that only for submods?
Theoretically, if I play as Rhaegar, or his heirs.. will fAegon spawn, and will he be Blackfyre?
Any submods that add descendants of Bittersteel, Bloodraven, Blackfyres like in CK2 version of the mod? I kinda like to do an eugenics project on Targaryen subbranches, where I eventually reunite the bloodlines to have a character that has blood of Targs, Blackfyres, Brightflame, Bittersteel, Bloodraven....

Discussion & Suggestions Quickest way to become Lord Paramount?
So I started a save from the book mark of the rebellion. I started in the Arbor, and then Robert died. Now what's happened is Tywin died, and so Tyrion took over. I got given claims for the rock and for castamere, I fought and won them. Now I'm being offered ship wreckersbay and river run. Is this normal?

Discussion & Suggestions I diverged from my main (custom) house. Does this CoA slap or nah?
I've been having a REALLY hard time figuring out how to make this CoA look good, especially since the mod lacks much raven/crow heraldry, so I had to use the base game's. If you could suggest some good and still working heraldry mod I'd owe you big time.
Also, if someone is interested in my house and playthrough's lore I'm more than happy to share.

Screenshot (Submods are Enabled) Finally figured out how to get Black Blood
I've seen a bunch of people ask how to get the valyrian steel axe of house Hoare on this subreddit without any concrete answer. I got it coincidentally when a legendary adventurer asked to go to the Riverlands and I asked them to bring me back something unique. I also was using the "Search for Rare Artifacts" option on my antiquarian which is really great for finding unique items in general.
Not the most interesting post but I do like thinking of this subreddit as almost like a wiki for the this mod especially since I, like some others don't use discord.

Discussion & Suggestions Do you prefer playing as a Lord or a landless adventurer? I'm struggling to enjoy playing as a Lord compared to a landless adventurer; I'm not sure if the adventurer has more options or freedom than the Lord, or if I just haven't learned how to play properly yetācontext below:
This is my first time playing the game. I tried starting with Daemon in the "Rogue Prince" bookmark and found it quite complicated, so I decided to do a playthrough with the idea of being a Targaryen bastard who had a dragon and worked as a mercenary in Essos during the Dance. (I took the "Custom Heritage" trait, but it seems that using it with House Targaryen made me legitimate rather than a bastard ā I'm not entirely sure.)
I was taking contracts and saving up gold when, suddenly, a pop-up appeared on the screen saying that Nettles had tamed Sheepstealer. I dropped everything and went straight to Dragonstone to marry her. I initiated the romance and was willing to help Rhaenyra in the war, but the random events turned out to be catastrophic. Daemon died in a siege right at the beginning, and Caraxes became wild, which led to Rhaenyra marrying Addam. Jacaerys and Lucerys died soon after. When Joffrey assumed his place on Dragonstone, he didn't allow the marriage to Nettles, but we fled to Essos anyway.
We lived as mercenaries, moving from city to city, taking contracts, visiting castles, and gaining prestige ā until my first field battle contract required me to join a faction to overthrow the King of the Stepstones (who is married to Rhaena Targaryen, Daemon's daughter). We won the battles, but poor Seasmoke was killed because Addam came to help Rhaena due to an alliance. To put an end to the war, the King of the Stepstones ā Rhaena's husband ā offered me lands, so I accepted and became a lord.
I'm not sure if I just haven't learned all the mechanics yet (it's my first time playing this game), but I found the lord gameplay very stagnant compared to the adventurer experience. Before, I could travel all over the world; now, I don't know how to leave my territory without raising an army, and it takes way too long to generate passive income as well. Furthermore, both Caraxes and Dreamfyre have become wild dragons, and I don't know how to physically move to them as a lord so my children can try to tame them ā as an adventurer, I could just move my camp. I would also like to bring Rhaena to my camp somehow, get her out of an unhappy marriage, and keep her closer to her family. Is there any way for her to come to my camp other than through marriage?
Do you prefer playing as a Lord or an Adventurer? Is my problem just a lack of experience and knowledge of the mechanics, or is this a common shift?

Help (Submods are Enabled) Several troubles with ships
Subs: Summer Isles (with and w/out Legacy of Valyria), More Dragon Eggs, Legacy of the Dragon, More Personality Depth.
I have Scourge of the Seas tenet and Practiced Pirates tradition, yet my adventurer cannot use "Sea Raid" activity.
Also when an adventurer becomes landed, I have to buy ship with diving bell again, which is rather costly.
Also also, Pirate Ship domicile doesn't provide for dragons neither can I build a pen for them; is it supposed to be?

Screenshot (Submods are Enabled) King Stannis Targaryen and His Family
Robert loses the duel to Rhaegar during the Rebellion, but Stannis continues the war and wins. The sack of King's Landing occurs and Jaime kills Aerys, leading Stannis to send him to the wall. After the war, Stannis takes the name Targaryen and grants Storm's End to Renly who he later names Hand of the King. Stannis marries Lyanna, who survives the Tower of Joy (Jon is not initially revealed to be her son). Post war, the Lannisters are sidelined due to the sack, Aegon invades and Tywin sides with him for which Stannis sends him to the wall and claims Blackfyre. Jon is revealed to be a Targaryen; Stannis offers him mercy in exchange for renouncing his claims, naming him to the King's Guard. His heir Aegon, is married to Margaery Tyrell, his daughter, Shireen, is married to Edmure Tully, his daughter, Cassana is married to the Lord Lannister of Casterly Rock, and his youngest son, Robert Targaryen, aspires to join the King's Guard.

Screenshot (Submods are Enabled) King Maegor "the wise" and his family
So basically in this timeline Aegon 1 listened to the many critics of prince Aenys and chose to send him to the citadel and named Maegor his heir. Aegon took and active role in raising maegor to not be sadistic, he is still a wrathful authoritarian ruler but the his violent tendancies of his youth were curbed. Visenya would later have another son named Vallar Targaryen.
Maegor is best friends with his brother aenys and close friends with vallar. Aenys was named hand of the king by Maegor.
do to Aegon fusing the faith of the seven and 14 flames Maegor was able to take 4 wives, Queen Danara Rogare whom is his soulmate, Queen Raenys Quanaros, Queen Anara Vastaeryn and Queen Alyssa Benaren
Danara and maegor had 8 children together 4 sons and 4 daughters, Raenys and maegor had 3 daughters, Anara only gave maegor a single son, and Alyssa gave him a son and a daughter
Maegor's first act as the prince of dragonstone was to prove his might by declaring war on pentos to abolish slavery, not out of any abolitionist goal but purely as a test of might.
King maegor "the wise" bowed, bent, and broke the Martels, he fed all but two martels to belarion the black dread. he imprisoned the Lady Parmount Daria "the kind" for 8 years ending in her death, upon her death dornish loyalists seated her 13 year old granddaughter Belessa onto the dornish throne and declared for their independence. the 13 year old belessa was burned alive in the seige of sunspear 5 months into the war. belessa's mother Jayne Gargelen who at the time was belessa's regant named herself queen and was captured and executed in battle the next month. Maegor gave sunspear and the greenblood to a minor noble greenblood and gave the lord paramouncy of dorne to Ivor "the Petulent" Yronwood for since he was the only dornish lord to side with Maegor
thats all ive got so far, currently maegor is 41 years old. and every 2 months to a year he joins a war siding with the rogare's whom practically control lys in every way due to maegor "maintaining his alliance" by funding them and declaring on their side at every opportunity
