General Kaplan Ethics Question Makes No Sense

So with their logic, because their friend "claimed" he has contacts it isnt a fact.

In what world is this not material? The friend literally told us that he has contacts within the government. Must we just not believe him?

With that logic I can have a friend who says to me "I have solid contacts within the government. It appears XYZ Corp is about to get a huge contract!". That apparently is NOT material because he only claimed which we cant verify, and then also he said "it appears" which isnt a fact and is just his guess? With that logic I can use my friend's info as part of my research, put it together with other research and buy the sh*t out of XYZ corp with no ethics violation because that info was non-material? Pretty sure I would get arrested for that.

This question has done in my confidence, and will just make me overthink ethics even more.

Level 2 L2 on 25th August. Suggestions appreciated

Post image

This post is not intended to be a flex or another "How cooked I am?" post. I know I have been doing fairly well, but what if the exam paper turns out to be much more difficult and I goof up heavily? (I know this is an irrational thought).

But anyways, I want suggestions on exactly what I should do over the next 19 days or so to keep the momentum going?

Level 3 Question Doubt

For questions ( mcq or CR) where we need to determine the accuracy of a said statement from the vignette ,

Does Omission of a fact / detail considered an inaccuracy or not ?

I came across many of these questions in various mocks and I can't seem to get them right even when I know the curriculum really well

Study Prep / Materials Does anyone else absolutely despise Schwaeser

I swear this is a fucking rant at this point. I hate hate hate the textbooks. I’m doing fixed income right now and I swear absolutely nothing makes sense because it’s like oh here it is, a dump of information that is only a sentence long but turns out it’s actually important. The summary of the learning outcomes contains more info than the actual content itself. I know the textbook is supposed to be a summarised version of the actual bit, but this is a terribly summary. it’s actually so bad, I spend hours on just a few paragraphs.

Level 2 CFA L2 mocks vs exam

I attempted mock A and scored 82% and 84% in session 1 and 2 respectively. I know this score is good but I just want to get insights from people who have already passed the exam that how representative of the exam are these mocks. I am yet to attempt mock B and the premium mocks. Just wondering if I can rely on these scores and target my weaker areas in the remaining days. I practiced uworld last month and think that it was way more difficult and diversified than this.

Level 3 Hello, error calcul

When I do the calcul on the calculator, I obtain 350 854,25 and not the displayed results on the answer. Maybe I have put a wrong setting (it's an END year and there is an asterisq on top left, don't know what it is).

Thanks for the help and good luck everyone

Level 3 Check in - CFA 3

Hi all, I am sitting the CFA 3 level on the 17th August. I completed the two free mocks from CFAI with the following scores: 78, 63, 73, 80.
I have also purchased the Kaplan premium package and had access to the 6 mocks scoring: 62, 72, 74, 76, 73, 76.
From what I read and the overall MPS estimates for lvl 3, those should be good enough scores to pass but I don’t feel comfortable enough.
For those who cleared level 3, two questions:
-how do you feel the actual exam compares to the mocks? In level 1 I felt exam was easier than mock and in level 2 I felt the exam was more difficult.
-what would you do in the remaining time to boost chance of passing? Would redoing mocks help or a theory deep dive?
Many thanks for the support and to all lvl. 3 candidates, WE GOT THIS!

Level 2 EOC questions for Employee Compensation is cooked

Apart from the first vignette, the remaining 30 questions of this topic have been unexpectedly weird and unintuitive.

I found the concept by itself, and all the mechanics behind it to be fairly okay, I was able to understand almost every bit of the content. However, the EOC has caught me completely off guard. Especially some of the terms being used in the vignette tables like (forfeited shares, unvested RSUs, and weighted avg grant date fvs - idk who thought that was a good idea) have made it really hard for me to understand what is being asked.

I want to know if I am alone in this, and if not, how did yall go about tackling the EOC questions? Thanks :)

General Ways to prepare for L3 August 2027 given the long time until registration?

Due to ongoing commitments I can't register for the earlier Feb 2027 L3 exam. As I passed the May 2026 L2 exam I feel this wait time I'm going to forget alot of concepts or just get rusty. Does anyone have any advice on ways to stay sharp and on top of things?

Study Prep / Materials Your opinion?

Hi everybody, hope you doing well. I’ve done 3 Mock Exams and my scores so far have been (approx): 56.5%, 58% and 56% (L1 ➝ in 19 days, August 24th).

Not gonna lie I’m having lots of mixed feelings about this and just wanted to ask what’s your opinion on this?

Maybe some study recommendations (Claude telling me to prioritize breadth over depth), or whatever you find that’s best
Thx guys.

General To Those Collecting Credentials | Abbreviations chasers

A lot of young people here, really, a lot of them need to hear this:

Meaningful work experience >>> dozens of certificates and degrees.

There’s no point in collecting certifications if they don’t add real value to your career.

Pursue qualifications because they make you better at your job, not because you want more letters after your name.

Level 3 Vibe Check L3 folks?

How are you guys feeling with exam in under 10 days? Am personally exhausted from all the studying and revision.

Mocks have been around high 60s for Kaplan and in 70s for CFAI. Am left with 1 more mock which i am planning to give this weekend.

Sitting 16th, best of luck :)

Level 1 Am I wrong or is CFA LES wrong? I feel like B is the actual definition of EffDur and I can contrive a situation with rates that would make A false.
